Whereas adolescents are expected to develop digital-security behaviors, and becoming digital citizens to protect themselves from threatening online risks, parents play a critical role on such development. The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between parental active and restrictive mediation practices and digital-security behaviors in adolescents. The sample comprised 480 secondary school students aged between 11 and 15 (M age = 12.88, DE = 0.94). Multiple linear regression was calculated. The results showed that active and restrictive parental mediation positively correlated with adolescents’ digital-security. Thus, we argue that parental mediation is critical to explaining adolescents’ online behaviors.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125626469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The European Union and associated countries promote actions to improve the educational system and among them teacher training has an important role. One of the programs that allows the development of this type of activity is the Erasmus+ Programme. The projects of this program are the source of inspiration for the research that is being carried out in order to obtain a methodological guide for the successful use of digital technologies in education in improving learning. This article focuses on five examples of projects classified as good practice or successful experience related to teacher training as a result of the analysis that is being carried out in that research. The examples that are developed here show how to work towards a better specialization of the teaching staff and serve as inspiration to design training practices that encourage initial and continuous learning and professional improvement of teaching methods, in turn influencing the improvement of the educational system as well as teaching and learning processes. All this aimed at covering the real training needs of teachers.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122800840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This project has been implemented on the subject of Power Electronics. However, to facilitate the transfer to other subjects, the catalogue of active teaching activities is sufficiently varied to make it easy to extrapolate and use in other subjects, thanks to the fact that teachers have a wide variety of activities to choose from the set. Finally, a survey has been drawn to evaluate this new active methodology’s satisfaction, impact and improvement to know the students’ perspectives once they have worked with this catalogue of activities.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131256365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the last two decades, different actors have made great efforts so that more women choose to develop their professional futures in these disciplines. It is here where the insertion of women plays a fundamental role. As it is already known, the number of women who choose to study STEM does not increase considerably over the years; the increase is meager despite the fair offers of employability in public and private organizations in the area. This article aims to present an exploratory review to identify the roles, functions, and jobs most recurrently performed by women in computer science and ICT and also seeks to identify the most required professional competencies and skills for a female profile in this environment. Our methodology for the exploratory review consisted of applying the systematic mapping approach to relevant literature. Complementary results were obtained from the analysis of a sample of 31 female engineers from Chile, who provided us with information to classify roles, functions, competencies, and skills and to identify whether inclusion and equity initiatives are carried out in their previous or current jobs.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"390 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116862727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This supervening global pandemic situation has affected all areas of society, including universities. In this regard, face-to-face learning scenarios were converted into online or hybrid teaching with the use of information and communication technologies as a meeting point between teaching staff and students. This work is part of the University Teaching Research Networks Programme of the Institute of Education Sciences of the University of Alicante (call 2020-21) and its general objective is analyse the resources used by teachers in hybrid teaching in the context of COVID-19. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design was adopted. A questionnaire was designed ad hoc for data collection, which was completed by a sample of 367 students of the bachelor’s degree in Teaching at the University of Alicante. The data were collected online through Google Forms during class. The results showed that PowerPoint is the resource most used by teachers for theory and practice classes. In turn, notes, materials in digital format uploaded to the virtual campus, are the resource most frequently provided by the teaching staff. Likewise, the university’s virtual classroom is the resource most frequently used by teaching staff to interact with students. In conclusion, it can be said that the change of teaching modality has led to an adaptation of face-to-face teaching to virtual scenarios, without any profound innovation in the university educational model.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115370764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This scenario requires the need to train not only in subject-specific skills, but also in transversal skills such as creativity, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning. The training proposal presented here, developed within the Creativity for Higher Education Engineering Teachers (CHET) European project, offers a knowledge management system (KMS) that facilitates the training of educators to develop creativity among their engineering students. Available in open source, the KMS allows educators to monitor their personal progress as well as the selection of creativity techniques based on various criteria (e.g., available time to apply the technique), with the option of obtaining a certificate of completion. The next step will be to test the effectiveness and impact of this training, both on the trained educators and their students.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116799600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In education, academic systems had to frantically switch to an online format. Teachers and students had to face an unknown situation, with difficulties as isolation, technology management and pedagogical approaches. However, this impact can be drastically reduced for schools with strong previous background in information and communication technologies (ICT). We reached this conclusion by objectively quantifying the learning results in a sudden transition from face-to-face (F2F) to distant learning (DL). We focus on the abrupt home confinement experienced by the Maristak Durango school during the COVID-19 outbreak. As revealed by the statistical analysis related to the grades of the 360+ students (VET, High School) who went through this F2F to DL transition (F2F2DL), almost all students were able to retain and improve their grades. The results prove how a good ICT-based background can tangibly alleviate any radical F2F2DL shift brought by an unforeseen chain of events. This paper contributes to this type of analysis for VET, since there are hardly any studies related to this scenario.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"220 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124351607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The assessment was one of the aspects that changed the most, and although learning platforms such as Moodle or Blackboard provide teachers with a variety of assessment tools, these are sometimes insufficient, particularly in statistics and mathematics courses. This is the reason why the teachers at Universidad Católica de Santa María were provided with the Wiris tool, which consists of a system that goes beyond the usual types of questions, adding functionalities for evaluation and feedback. Considering the background, this article seeks to describe the experience of the teachers with the implementation of Wiris, in addition to discussing some of its advantages and disadvantages, and commenting on the contribution it makes to the formative evaluation.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128105413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
