Among these technological tools, the use of pedagogical robotics as a technology to support learning has created new academic experiences and favouring the inclusion of students with Specific Educational Support Needs (SEN), including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Specifically, in the case of students with ASD, the scientific literature has confirmed the existence of difficulties in the management of executive functions. Therefore, the main objective of this research has been to apply the Bee-Bot robot to work on these functions. For this purpose, a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design without a control group has been developed, where the sample is made up of a subject with ASD level 2. The instrument used is a system of categories designed ad hoc that is applied during the development of the 10 sessions that make up the intervention procedure. The results indicate how the student uses the executive functions worked on in most of the sessions where the Bee-Bot robot is used. In conclusion, it seems necessary to extend the research, as this type of robot could be efficient in improving the executive functions of these students.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116580115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We investigated university educators’ eLearning perspectives, practices, and plans for future adoption. Educators reacted by making efforts to keep teaching going while admitting that some expectations needed to be adjusted. Despite numerous challenges, educators reported less fear of eLearning. Reflecting on their experiences, educators highlighted the benefits and drawbacks of e Learning. Increased flexibility, which allowed students to 1earn independently, was a key opportunity. Educators anticipated that distance learning would show in their future teaching if it was practical and helpful in achieving educational goals, taking into account opportunities and challenges. Although hybrid or blended learning methods were preferred, support for the implementation of technology-based and pedagogically informed teaching is required.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124577140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was a metaverse designed so that they could interact and begin to know their future classmates. The activity was applied to 110 PrepaTec Morelia students who interacted on the virtual campus. At a campus rally, they visited different stations to perform specific tasks requested by their teachers. The designed interdisciplinary activity was part of the Tutoring and Fundamentals of Mathematics courses. The challenges posed to the students addressed the contents of both subjects. The students were divided into groups to control the registration of their activities better; they had the support of 5 teachers per block. In addition to strengthening social ties, the activity approached the academic contents of the subjects playfully, promoting different learning strategies and the reinforcement of competencies and skills such as collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication and supported by new technologies like virtual spaces.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128978018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, the percentage of women in these areas depends on a range of different factors. In particular, the gender gap is critical in technology in general and, more specifically, in informatics. This problem affects not only the business sector but also society. Informatics is part of our lives; however, 50% of the world population is not represented in the teams that are developing solutions for solving society’s problems. In Spain, the number of women with informatics degrees is around 15%. This work describes a case study developed by the committee of Women in Informatics at the Scientific Society of Spanish Informatics (SCIE) to analyse the perception of informatics scientists on the gender gap in informatics.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129662418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this research is to compare the level of the dimensions of the digital competence by academic areas with an instrument with proven validity. Validation was performed by expert judgment and calculation of Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The survey was applied to university students in the areas of Law and Business Sciences, Social Sciences, Sciences and Engineering and Health Sciences of a university in Arequipa. The instrument used for the comparative study exceeded the cut-off levels, achieving content validity. Likewise, the internal consistency of the scores has good to excellent reliability. Most students have a high to very high level of knowledge of digital skills. In five indicators there is a significant difference between the levels of knowledge of the different academic areas. We concluded that the evaluated students are prepared to face current technological requirements, keeping in mind that it is a duty of the university to ensure that all of its students satisfy said requirements.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127152344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to perform an analysis of the data obtained in a MOOC course on Energy Sustainability, to determine the academic behavior of the participants, based on numerical variables and categorical variables. We analyzed 13 variables raised in the MOOC course to a population of 453 participants whose condition was the completion of an initial and final survey, that is, they remained in the course until the end of it, for data analysis was used the “Principal Component Analysis” (PCA), as for the software used is the PCAmixdata package, which allows working with numerical and categorical variables. The results reflect findings on variables that account for the influence and relationship that exists in certain activities with the approval of the participants. The study contributes for both teaching and technical teams to consider the results in future MOOC designs and also to incorporate valuable elements of data analytics.","PeriodicalId":116161,"journal":{"name":"2022 XII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129446332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
