In particular, we study cooperative vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) which are considered as an important application of CR. Spectrum sensing is a crucial task in CR applications. However, fading propagation channels can significantly limit the sensing performance. Thus, great efforts are made to model the fading and shadowing channel characteristics in CR-VANET. Indeed, experimental measurements have shown that the 5.9 GHz dedicated short range communication narrow-bad allocated to VANET is characterized with Nakagami distribution. Thus, blind eigenvalues-based spectrum sensing methods are appropriate in high fading environments. In this paper, we investigate blind detection in cooperative CR-VANET over Nakagami-m fading channels. The results reveal the great impact of fading channel characteristics and their severity on spectrum sensing performance. Besides, several cases of interest are examined such as the impact of fading factor, CR-vehicles number, samples number, etc.","PeriodicalId":115632,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb (CISTEM)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131089737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The studied tubular linear stepping motors are the classical tubular Linear Switched Reluctance Stepping Motor (LSRSM). The magneto-mechanical model is developed and applied to study the dynamic performances of tubular linear stepping motors. This model is based on the nonlinear electromagnetic equations expressed in terms of magnetic vector potential solved using the finite element method while incorporating the Newton-Raphson algorithm for the magnetic nonlinearity treatment. The sequential coupling between the electromagnetic and mechanical equations is carried out, firstly through the magnetic force, and secondly by the modified flux distribution due to the moving parts displacement simulated by the Macro-element method. The Thermal model is developed and applied to evaluate the temperature in the motors. This model is based on the resolution of the thermal equation solved by the finite element method where the source term is the power density generated in the coils.","PeriodicalId":115632,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb (CISTEM)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115369436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally, the impact of energy consumption in total input cost is significant. So, improving efficiency in electric drives using such motors is important and control strategy for minimum energy loss, as one of optimal operation strategies, can help to reach this goal. Different schemes for efficiency optimization of an induction motor drive controlled through the field oriented method were developed for steady state operation. This paper proposes an alternative to the classical techniques of Loss Model Controller by using Optimal Direct Torque Control of induction machine fed by three-phase inverter. In this approach, the main advantages of the direct torque control are combined to those of the optimal control with loss minimization. Numerical simulation results compared to measurements show good agreement and dynamic performances of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":115632,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb (CISTEM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124064645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the GMI characteristics depend largely on the high frequency source parameters, the DDS, as a highly stable frequency source, could be advantageous for GMI sensors. The DDS technology allows digitally and dynamically programming of the waveform parameters with high accuracy which allows easily optimizing the sensor response. The sensing element is an amorphous (Co-Fe-Si-B) wire driven by a high frequency current delivered by the DDS and its voltage-to-current converter. To measure the voltage variation across the sensing element, a peak detector and a high gain amplifier with zero adjust are used. A DC bias magnetic field is applied to the sensing wire to get an asymmetric GMI effect. The sensor presents a sensitivity of 0.26 V/A/m and good linearity in a dynamic range of ± 25 A/m.","PeriodicalId":115632,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb (CISTEM)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125838596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main feature of this method is the rapidity of the algorithm in such a way that the detection can be carried out even when protection devices are not yet activated. The method uses only voltage sensors at the PCC and the algorithm is based on temporal redundancies obtained with previous stored measurements. The method consists in obtaining a residual, which is generated using simplifications introduced by the real-time constraints. The operation principle is as follows: in healthy mode, the residual is lower than a certain threshold. However, if there is PCC voltage variation, the residual value will increase, allowing a fast detection of this change. The theoretical analysis is performed in order to establish threshold analytic expressions in both cases, with and without PCC voltage variations, and to explain the residual waveform during faults. The proposed method is easy to implement, fast and does not require system parameters knowledge. Simulations and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":115632,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb (CISTEM)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124670560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fact that we consider energy as a service has led us to an evolution of the classic electrical grid by turning everything in an intelligent way. This paper introduces a new energy management strategy based on the use of a smart vehicle as an energy source.
