However, there are still some critical issues, such as aging of electrical insulation. In practice, most of the stress variables responsible for insulation degradation, e.g., electrical, thermal, mechanical factors are not available or measurable, especially during operation. Recently computational intelligence approaches are being applied for that class of problems. However, the Generalized Additive Models (GAMs), due to their flexibility and lower data requirement and lower complexity, have gained attention. In this paper GAMs are applied to assess insulation state by mapping relationship between measurements, fault history and information from various sources with a varying degree of uncertainty. Results support that GAMs are promising candidates for online insulation assessment and fault diagnosis systems on account to their remarkable advantages.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115058260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The loss evaluation sensitivity in Finite Element Analysis using different calculation time steps is studied. The motor losses are studied experimentally using a sinusoidal or PWM voltage supply at different operation points. In the experiments, the recorded voltage sampling interval is $1 mumathrm{s}$ to include all the PWM – induced harmonic content in the data. However, $1 mumathrm{s}$ time step leads to a long calculation time in time stepping FEA, therefore the data is down sampled to 10 us, 50 and 100 us. The length of the FEA time step is analyzed against the calculation speed and accuracy of the results.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116595412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Development and implementation of Digital Twin technology is a hot topic in many industry-oriented research projects. However, more detailed studies are needed on design methods for Digital Twins, which allows full synchronization and connectivity between virtual and real environments. This paper presents a development case study of Digital Twin for an electric motor based on an empirical performance model. The paper discusses the way how the data required for the Digital Twin were obtained and present a detailed structural description of the virtual entity. They don't need external power for their performance and have small overall dimensions, that's why they are attractive to use them in portable security or monitor systems. To estimate the detection range of the security system, including the electrodynamic seismic sensors, it is necessary to know the response of the electrodynamic seismic sensor to different seismic events. Such a response is modeled and presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125251333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the method, currents, stator voltages and slip in stationary conditions at various loads, as well as currents and voltages in the initial phase of motor starting at $s=1$ are measured. According to the measurements using the Fourier transform, the input stator impedances are determined for slip $s=1$ and for slip at various loads. The assumption that rotor resistances are independent of the skin effect for operation slip values allows finding the equivalent current penetration depth into the rotor bar and the parameters of current skin effect coefficients for rotor resistance and reactance by solving the nonlinear equation system. An example of equivalent circuit parameter estimation using the proposed method for an AB series induction motor rated at 630 kW and a stator voltage of 6 kV is given. The close coincidence between experimental and calculated static and dynamic characteristics is obtained. The advantage of the method is its relative implementation simplicity in industrial conditions, which is especially important for high power motors, for which expensive test benches are not always available. The parameters of equivalent circuit have been estimated using the proposed method can be used to study heating of windings in operating and starting conditions, to calculate short-circuit currents at various voltage and frequency levels, to determine the stability of multi-machine load nodes of a power supply system of various industrial enterprises, to determine the settings of relay protection and automation devices.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134594468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, a two-phase permanent magnet Vernier generator (PMVG) is considered which has some advantages like a low cogging torque. This generator is appropriate to use in the regions where the wind speed is low. An active rectifier for two-phase PMVG is introduced to receive power efficiently. In this paper, two different types of active rectifiers are addressed. The first one is the Vienna rectifier and the second is the boost active rectifier. A single-phase inverter is used in this structure to supply the load and then, the operation of these converters are simulated. Two Matlab/Simulink and Maxwell softwares are employed to simulate the converters and generator. Moreover, some features of these converters such as switch stress, number of elements, and control system complexity are compared. Experimental results verify the simulated results for the two-phase PMVG.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121905196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although VFT is generally an active power control device, there has been a VFT configuration introduced to control both active and reactive power flowing between networks. This paper presents a controller to control active and reactive power flow which is robust against parametric uncertainty. Therefore, the proposed controller not only controls both the outputs through the whole operating range but also does not lose its functions because of the variation of some of the parameters over time. Besides, the ability of the controller to perform in a noisy condition is verified. In this paper, the controller design process is discussed, and simulation results are illustrated to show the merits of the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131671837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
