Abstract
The paper describes the experience of the development and application of visual-interactive simulation models in Electrical Power Engineering and Mechatronics Programs of ITMO University for face-to-face and distant education. Visual-interactive models were designed on the base of interactive Java Applets. The use of visual-interactive simulation models improves the quality of education due to the visualization of electromagnetic and electromechanical processes, as well as the possibility of analysis the influence of different variables on them. This approach got particular importance due to the development of e-learning. Designed visual-interactive models can be used as illustrative material in lectures and distant courses, as well as in self-study of students. The approach is described using examples of models designed for Electrical Motors and Electrical Drive Systems courses.
