Contrary to classical developed turbulence in which there are only two typical scales, i.e. the energy injection L and the dissipation scales η , here the quantization of vorticity introduces two additional scales, the vortex core radius a 0 and the mean vortex spacing ℓ . We present these spectra for the super- and the normal-ﬂuid components in the entire range of scales from L to a 0 including the cross-over scale ℓ where the hydrodynamic eddy-cascade is replaced by the cascade of Kelvin waves on individual vortices. At this scale a bottleneck accumulation of the energy was found earlier at T = 0. We show that even very small mutual friction dramatically suppresses the bottleneck eﬀect due to the dissipation of the Kelvin waves. Abstract ▼ Addiction at an advanced age is a relevant and frequent topic concerning in-patient geriatric welfare which is still neglected to a certain ex-tent. Nursing problems relating to alcohol- and benzodiazepine-dependence as well as misuse are various and complex. Often, not only rela-tives are in ﬂ uenced by the addiction, but also continuously su ﬀ er from di ﬀ erent nursing, social and psychological problems. On many occasions, the addiction of the a ﬀ ected persons is not re-cognized. Thus, in consequence, no relief mea-sures are initiated. Therefore, the nursing routi-ne with elderly addicts on a day-to-day basis is frequently marked by excessive demands, lack of knowledge and shortage of practically orien-ted concepts. These excessive demands are often expressed by unnecessary corrections, contemp-tuousness and regimentations. So far, the aca-demic literature only provides a few indications concerning nursing and care of elderly addicts; the regulations with respect to addiction used in psychiatric care cannot be transferred. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the effects of serum Immunoglobulin G (IgG) on secreted norepinephrine (NE) amounts and norepinephrine transporter (NET) expression in sympathetic neurons. The purified serum IgG from the patient group Control, CP/CPPS+ED, CP/CPPS and ED was administered to cultured superior cervical sympathetic ganglions from nude mice, and secreted NE was quantitated by radioimmunoassay. Quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot were performed to assess NET expression at the mRNA and protein levels, respectively. There was no significant difference in secreted NE levels among the four groups afterincubating mouse sympathetic neurons with serum IgG (P>0.05). However, NET mRNA expression levels in mouse sympathetic neurons were significantly higher after administration of serum IgG from the CP/CPPS+ED and CP/CPPS groups compared with the ED and control groups (P<0.05); the ED and control groups showed comparable values (P<0.05). Meanwhile, NET protein expression levels were significantly higher (P<0.05) in the CP/CPPS+ED group compared with the CP/CPPS, ED and control groups, which showed similar values (P>0.05). From June 2001 to July 2002, the authors surveyed 18 U.S. shared-use vehicle organizations on a range of topics, including organizational size, partnerships, pricing, costs, and technology. While survey findings demonstrate a decline in the number of organizational starts in the last year, operational launches into new cities, membership, and fleet size continue to increase. Several growth-oriented organizations are responsible for most of this expansion. The authors explore several factors that challenge shared-use vehicle growth, such as high capital investment (or start-up costs), dramatic insurance rate hikes, and scarcity of cost-effective technologies. The authors conclude that while early niche market findings are encouraging, the ability of this emerging sector to actualize its total environmental, economic, and social goals may be limited without the collective support of private industry (e.g., automakers, insurance providers, technology producers); public agents (e.g., transit and governmental agencies); and shared-use vehicle programs.
