Generally, the resistance welding application requires high current and low voltage circuits with high operating frequency as a current pulse shaper. The recently invented Split-pi converter has great potential in the power electronics field due to its ability to work in different switching modes during operation. The utilization of hybrid energy storage such as battery-supercapacitor combination in the resistance welding application can make a negative effect on the current pulse shaper circuit. To overcome this effect, a Split-pi converter is presented in this work. The operation of the converter topology is validated with simulated results.","PeriodicalId":115140,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE KhPI Week on Advanced Technology (KhPIWeek)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130339423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Assessment of the electricity quality in traction networks is a problem related to the complexity of energy processes mathematical formalization in unballanced and non-sinusoid terms. Therefore, there is a need to find a calculation method with simple implementation and high informativeness indicators. The purpose is in the power components investigation of the secondary busbars a traction substation transformer, using the standard of IEEE 1459 - 2010. Guided by order of determining the instantaneous power components, regulated by standard IEEE 1459-2010, using the Fourier transform, the power values for each of the secondary voltage phases a three-phase transformer and the three phases as a whole were calculated. It is established that during the calculation as indicators reflecting of unballanced three-phase transformer mode, is use only fundamental harmonic components. This does not take into account the transition effect of pair harmonics and multiples of three harmonics, respectively, on the negative and zero sequences. It is noted, that the reactive power is calculated only by the fundamental harmonic. The higher harmonics reactive power is not included in recommended for definition. The results can be used in electrical energy control and metering systems, as motivating, to take steps to maintain of electricity quality required level at the metering point.","PeriodicalId":115140,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE KhPI Week on Advanced Technology (KhPIWeek)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131923240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result of a numerical study, the share of all sections of the tube surface with a punched spiral finning in heat transfer with the change of all geometric dimensions of the finning were determined. It was established that heat transfer occurs mainly through the surface of the fins - the proportion of the surface of the fins in heat transfer and specific heat perception is 82 … 96%. The surface of the punched part of the fins at the maximum acceptable height of the petals transfers up to 80 … 84% of the heat. The average surface heat transfer coefficient of the punched part of the fins is much higher than the solid part. In a numerical experiment, it is 2 times higher (120 $mathrm{w} /mathbf{m}^{2}{}^{circ}mathbf{C}$ versus 60 $mathbf{W}/mathbf{m}^{2}{}^{circ}mathbf{C}$). Consequently, the required value of the heating surface and its metal consumption and cost are reduced. As a result of a computational study, seven parameters that characterize the technical and economic efficiency of the five options for the heating surface of the P-83 boiler-utilizer were compared. Staggered banks with a punched spiral finning have the best values of all the compared parameters, except for aerodynamic resistance. This variant of the heating surface provides the greatest metal savings of 26.7%. The staggered banks with continuous finning and in-line banks with punched finning have approximately identical values of the majority of the compared parameters are, but the aerodynamic resistance of the in-line banks is much lower (1882 Pa against 2597.4 Pa). Therefore, their use is preferable. The staggered smooth tube banks have the worst values of all compared parameters.","PeriodicalId":115140,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE KhPI Week on Advanced Technology (KhPIWeek)","volume":"175 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131677616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electromechanical characteristics of LPEA were obtained upon excitation by a series of five pulses, which are formed by sections of a capacitive energy storage unit (CES). It is shown that feeding LPEA from sections of the CES allows, due to the time-stretching process of the force action, to significantly reduce the amplitude of the electrodynamic force (EDF), which manifests itself as the recoil force. If the sections of the CES are the same, then the LPEA efficiency coefficient, equal to the ratio of the maximum speed of the conductive armature (CA) to the maximum recoil force, is 2.3 times higher when powered by a series of pulses than when supplied with a single pulse. With a sequential increase in the energy of the sections of the CES due to voltage or due to capacities, the efficiency coefficient of LPEA additionally increases by 15-20%.","PeriodicalId":115140,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE KhPI Week on Advanced Technology (KhPIWeek)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133272234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Estimation of carbon dioxide emissions reduction has been carried out under actually realized potential and realization of all economically feasible potential of small rivers in Ukraine. The results have demonstrated that the realization of all economically feasible potential of small hydropower will increase the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 21.8 times in comparison with emissions secured by realized potential as of 2018. Considering the fact that the feed-in tariff has the greatest impact on investment attractiveness of this sector, the assessment of the cost of generating electricity using the Levelized Cost of Energy method was carried out to compare obtained result with the feed-in tariff. The results have shown that the feed-in tariff is adequate to compensate electricity generation costs and return quickly start-up investments and that further development of this sector requires elimination of non-price obstacles.","PeriodicalId":115140,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE KhPI Week on Advanced Technology (KhPIWeek)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126438269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
