Then, educators became concerned about the education of the students as they were completely relying and habituated on face-to-face teaching–learning processes. This paper reports on how the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has faced that challenges in bringing the students to online classes as well as how they assessed and evaluated the students. A survey was conducted among the students who registered for the course with 14 survey questions. From the results, online classes are the best solution to the challenge; some students faced connectivity problems but it was concluded that the main purpose of teaching online is to continue the education process. Despite some challenges encountered, the teaching–learning process of the teachers and students was successful through this newly reformed system of education. \u0000 \u0000Keywords: Online assessment, online class, online teaching, online learning, COVID-19.

The effects of the physical conditions of the school, educational activities, artistic-sports-social and cultural activities, management and academic staff characteristics, communication processes and economic resources were examined. In the research, survey model, one of the descriptive research methods, was used. Parents of 7355 students studying at private schools in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Primary Education and General Secondary Education constituted the research universe of this study. Parents of 242 students studying in Nicosia, Famagusta, Güzelyurt and Kyrenia constituted the sample group of this study. The unit of analysis in the research is the parents of the students. The Private School Preference Criteria questionnaire used in this study was developed by Pulat (2019). The scale consists of a total of 41 items. The data collected with the help of scales in the study were analyzed with the statistical methods "Correlation", "Regression", "Kruskal-Wallis H" and "Mann-Whitney U". The most important reasons for parents to enroll their children in private schools are their belief that they will receive a good education in English, their belief that they will receive a better education in general, and the availability of full-time education as working parents. \u0000 \u0000Keywords: Private School, Parent, Parent Preference Attitudes, Primary School, Secondary School

Descriptive survey study was carried out at primary and secondary schools.64 department heads and 64 teachers were randomly selected in the schools. Mixed approach of quantitative and qualitative study was employed. A sample of four primary schools and four secondary schools were selected at random from Addis Ababa. Through the use of questionnaire data were collected from members of the curriculum committee and teachers in the respective schools. The findings from the data revealed that the role of teachers in curriculum implementation is ineffective due to various reasons among which shortage of materials and students’ problems are worth noting. Lack of adequate curriculum materials have encountered teachers to bring about the required changes in the behavior of students through the provision of various activities and experiences. On the basis of the finding, it was recommended to combat the problem by providing the means and materials for schools. The school should develop the culture of organizing the efforts of teachers and students to generate fund and promote self-sufficiency in the long run. Further, deep investigation was recommended to screen out the essence of the problem from its root. \u0000Keywords: Curriculum implementation, primary school, secondary school, teachers

For communist regime the textbooks, especially history ones became a tool of promotion political principles. There are many pictures, texts, exercises, additional readings which offer enough examples about what behaviour ought to be (non)appreciated and manifested by students, what they have to feel, to act or not. Also, scientific contents of textbook transmit to students a set of beliefs and values even if the teacher do not intend to focus on them. In this way, history textbook could be a perfect promoter of communist thinking and lifestyle. In addition, the textbook narrates about some „heroes” and their acts, gestures, political and military victories. Talking about them, it is a good way to promote those personalities that could become „models” for younger generation. Using theoretical research methodology, we have structured human models, as they had presented in the history textbooks, placing them into a communist human typology. As a result, this paper demonstrates that the textbooks have been important ideological tools, having a bigger impact to students’ consciousness and behaviour. \u0000 \u0000Keywords: Education; communist ideology; human models; textbooks; history;

The evidence supports the validity of Kuznets inverted-U hypothesis for the connection between the income level and income inequality. However, when more variables are integrated into the model, the consistency of inverse U-shaped curve becomes weaker. The empirical results suggest that educational variables are highly influential in affecting income distribution. Our analysis indicates that a higher level of education achieved by the population aged 15 and over has improved income distribution in Asia, while educational inequality, measured by the educational Gini, has a negative effect on income distribution. Higher levels of globalization are correlated with higher levels of income inequality, while freedom, either political or economic, has marginal effects on the level of inequity in income distribution. \u0000Key words: Education inequality, globalisation, income inequality

Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. A pro forma was used to collect data from a sample of 300 students, selected using stratified random sampling procedure from the science secondary schools in Kano state Nigeria. The data collected were the students’ performances in mathematics achievement test. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test to test the hypotheses at 0.05, level of significance. Overall results showed that students performed below average and a significant gender difference exists in mathematics performance. Similarly, a significant difference was also observed with respect to schools nature (boarding and day schools); day school students performed above better than boarding school students. The implication of this finding is that despite government continuous efforts, the academic achievement of students in mathematics through above hypothetical pass mark fell below the required average mark for admission into Nigerian universities. It was recommended among others that teachers should regularly motivate students to develop a good study habit and test them on the various mathematics concepts and feedback provided should be used to prepare them for credible achievement in mathematics at both internal and external examinations. \u0000Keywords: Gender; mathematics; school nature; students’ performance

However, this bilingualism has been realized in a step-by-step program in the Macedonian schools by introducing minorities to bilingual programs first starting from primary, then secondary and lately tertiary education in mother language of minorities. This approach was originally thought to help minority students learn the majority language and in that way find their way in the market economy. In practice, bilingual programs in Macedonian schools as well as teacher training programs in the state universities have limited view of what it means to have bilingual education, professional bilingual teachers, and how these teachers should teach bilingual students.
