Yet the forces led by the current president S.Japarov who came to power in 2020 have managed to retain control over the state even though they failed to finalize a clear domestic political strategic and tactical course. In the last year they partially succeded in removing from power those who were associated in 2011-2020 with the rule of A. Atambayev–S.Jeenbekov, but no radical improvement in the domesic economic situation and in life conditions of population have been achieved. Still elections to Jogorku Kenesh in November 2021 showed that president Japarov has proved his political viability that will help him to formulate prospects of further national development.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133964431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The national gas concern “Moldovagaz” faced financial difficulties while paying for the supply of Russian natural gas from “Gazprom”. The country experienced a rapid rise of prices for consumer goods and services. It became obvious that the ruling party of the president of Moldova, which won the early parliamentary elections, is not yet coping with the problems that arise in the country.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121307365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They include multidirectional foreign policy priorities of the countries of the region and unresolved acute regional problems (territorial borders, water and energy, environmental, transport and communication, agricultural and food). The main attention is focused on the reasons for the victory of Azerbaijan and the catastrophic defeat of Armenia. It is shown that with all possible reservations in this matter, one of the main beneficiaries of the conflict was Russia, which, under the auspices of the peacekeeping forces, returned its military units to the territory formally under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan for at least five years.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116759337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The serious strengthening of the positions of Azerbaijan and its ally Turkey in the region is beginning to worry neighboring countries, first of all Iran. The authorities of the Islamic Republic see this as a threat to the stability of the country, primarily in the Northeast, where ethnic Azerbaijanis live. In addition, Iran is concerned about the close ties, especially in the military sphere, between Azerbaijan and Israel. In the autumn of 2021, there was a serious aggravation in the relations between neighboring countries. Although the crisis was overcome by the efforts of diplomats, it cannot be ruled out that relations between Iran and Azerbaijan will be unstable in the future.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117258162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
