Nurses play a pivotal role before, during and after gynecological examinations, so; there is urgent need to increase nurses' knowledge and practice regarding clinical gynecological examinations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of educational program about clinical gynecological examinations on nurses′ performance. Design : A quasi-experimental research design was used. Subjects and method: The study was carried out at outpatient clinics and in-patient gynecological departments of Tanta University Main Hospital and El-Menshawy General Hospital. All nurses (80 nurses) who were working in the previously mentioned study settings were included in the study. Two tools were used for data collection. Tool (I): Nurses' knowledge regarding clinical gynecological examinations individual questionnaire. It included Part one: Nurses' socio demographic characteristics and Part two: Assessment of nurses' knowledge regarding clinical gynecological examinations. Tool (II): Nurses' practice observational checklist. It included Part one: Pelvic examination observational checklist and Part two: Breast examination observational checklist. Results: Poor level of knowledge as well as unsatisfactory level of practice regarding clinical gynecological examinations was reported among the studied nurses before implementation of the educational program, compared to fair and good level of knowledge as well as satisfactory level of practice post implementation of the educational program. Deviances in workplace considered one of the main issues that effect on the care provided by nurses. Aim: This study aimed to determine the relation between organizational support and deviances at workplace from nurses' prespective. Subject and Method; Design: A descriptive-correlational design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at Tanta University Main Hospital. The following inpatient departments were included in the data collection: Pediatric, Medical, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Endemic, and Pediatric Surgery. Along with Neuro-Psychiatric, Cardiac, Medical, and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. Subject: A representative sample consisted of (460) nurses were selected by simple random sample. Tools: Two tools were used to collect the data. Tool I: Nurses' Perceived Organizational Support Structured Questionnaire. Tool II: Deviant Behaviors in Workplace Structured Questionnaire. Results: It shows that nearly all 99.1% of nurses had unsatisfactory level regarding organizational support. Also, nearly all 98.3% of them had minor level of prespective regarding deviant behavior. Conclusion: There was a positive statistical significant correlation between nurses' perceived organizational support and their prespective of deviant behaviors at workplace. Recommendations: Hospital administrators adopt educational strategies to increase nurses awareness of the problems associated with deviant behaviors and its consequences. It is an important issue for professional care that affects pediatric critical care units frequently. Implementation of quality of nursing care intervention for health care professional is considered one of the key elements in preventing decubitus ulcers. The current study aimed to evaluate the effect of implementing quality of nursing care intervention on nurses’ performance regarding prevention of decubitus ulcer at pediatric intensive care unit. Research design: A quasi experimental research design was used. The subjects: A convenience sampling of twenty-six nurses from Tanta Main University Hospital and twenty-four nurses from International Educational Hospital at Tanta University. Three Tools were used: Structured interviewing schedule, Decubitus ulcer risk assessment using the Braden Q Risk Assessment Scale and Decubitus ulcer prevention observational checklist. Results: there was a statistical significant difference regarding nurses' practice between before and after quality of nursing care intervention implementation. Conclusion: performance of the nurses has significantly improved after the implementation of quality of nursing care intervention in relation to prevention of decubitus ulcer at pediatric intensive care unit. Aim: to assess the relation between parenting style of primary school age children and their psychosocial behaviors. Design: a descriptive cross-sectional study design . Settings: conducted in two medical centers and five Maternal and Child Health (MCH) centers at Tanta city, El Gharbia Governorate. Subjects: a number of 300 mothers with their primary school children were selected randomly from the previous settings. Tool of the study: A structured interview schedule was used to obtain the necessary data for the study. It consists of four parts as following: Part (1) : a) Socio-demographic characteristics of parents. b) Socio-demographic characteristics of child. Part (II): Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire short version. Part (III): The Home and Community Social Behavior Scales (HCSBS). Part (IV): The Stirling Children’s Wellbeing Scale (SCWBS). Results: It was found that authoritative parenting style was highly used by almost the majority (89.3%) of the studied parents. The authoritarian parenting style was moderately used by more than half (57.0%) of the studied parents. The permissive parenting style was moderately used by more than two fifths (45%) of them. There was a positive statistically significant correlation between total score of authoritative parenting style and total score of social and psychological behavior (p <0.001). The main source of this problem was the rise in greenhouse gas concentrations brought by human activity. As a result, education of global warming becomes a key topic for students. Aim of the study: to evaluate the effect of educational program about greenhouse and global warming consequences on knowledge and daily life practices among university nursing students. Design: A quasi-experimental design was used. Setting: Faculty of Nursing, Tanta University. Subjects : A simple randomized sample of 200 nursing students from the first level of the faculty was chosen to make up the sample size. Tools: In order to gather the required data, the researcher used two tools, which were as follows: Tool I: Self-administered questionnaire which composed of two parts, part I: Socio-demographic characteristics, Part ІІ: Students’ knowledge regarding greenhouse effect and global warming. Tool II: Daily living practices questionnaire. Results : There was significant improvement in the total mean knowledge and daily living practices immediately post and one month after intervention. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between total knowledge mean and total daily living practices mean regarding global warming. Conclusion: The majority of studied university students had better overall understanding and practices, which is evidence of successful and beneficial of educational program. Parents, especially mothers need to decide if they would like to store their infant’s cord blood and donate it. They need to be aware of options exists and information needed. Aim of the study was to assess pregnant women knowledge and attitudes toward cord blood stem cell banking and donation at Gharbia Governorate, Egypt. Setting: This study was conducted in Antenatal Clinics at the largest ten Central Hospitals and ten Rural Health Units in Gharbia Governorate, Egypt. Subjects: A convenient sample of one thousand (1000) pregnant women from the previous settings. Tools: Two tools were used: Tool I: Structured Interview Schedule: It included three parts: - Socio-demographic data of the pregnant women, obstetric history of the pregnant women and Pregnant Women's knowledge toward cord blood stem cells & its banking and donation. Tool II: Pregnant women’ attitudes toward donation and banking of cord blood stem cells. Results: the majority (78.5%) of the studied pregnant women had low level of knowledge regarding cord blood and stem cell & its banking and donation and nearly the half (49.5%) of them had negative attitudes, with statistically significant relationship between total knowledge and attitudes scores. Education and occupation of the pregnant women have a statistically significant correlation with total knowledge and attitudes scores. Conclusion and recommendations : the levels of pregnant women knowledge and attitudes regarding cord blood stem cell banking and donation were very low and need to be improved. Aim: To assess the professional identity and career satisfaction among Intensive Care nurses. Subjects and Method: Research design : A descriptive correlational research design was used. Setting: The study was conducted in all Intensive Care Units at Tanta University Main Hospital including Pediatric, Neonatal, Neurological, Cardiac, and Medical Intensive Care Unit. Subjects: All (n= 320) nurses who were working in the same setting and available at the time of data collection. Tools: Two tools were used to collect the data, Nurses’ Professional Identity Questionnaire and Career Satisfaction Questionnaire . Results: The majority of nurses had a high level of perception regarding professional identity and career satisfaction where (89.7%, 72.2%) respectively. Conclusion: There was a highly statistically significant positive correlation between nurses' perception of professional identity and their career satisfaction. Aim: Evaluate the effect of web-based pediatric palliative care educational sessions on the knowledge and reported practices of nurses at Assiut University Children's Hospital. Research Design: A Quasi-experimental research design was utilized in this research. Subjects: Included a purposive sampling of 91 nurses was documented in this research. Tools of data collection: Two tools included Nurses' knowledge towards pediatrics palliative care, Nurses' personal characteristics tool and Nurses' reported practice regarding pediatric palliative care Results: The majority of the studied nurses (91.2%) had poor knowledge while only (8.8%) of them had good knowledge before web-based education compared to sixty-six percent of them (65.9%) had good knowledge after implementation of web-based education. A statistically significant difference was present between the pretest and posttest scores of the nurses regarding the palliative care knowledge level and self ‐ reported palliative care practices (P value <0.001). Conclusion: Nurses' knowledge as well as reported practices related to pediatric palliative care were enhanced after the implementation of the web-based pediatric palliative care education. Subjects: Convenience sample of 500 aged who attended the previous settings were participate in this study. Tools of study: Two tools were used to collect data Tool І: A structure interview schedule that consisted of three parts, Part (1): Socio demographic characteristics, medical history, and lifestyle of elderly, Part (2): Knowledge of aged person about oral health care and Part (3): Self-reported practices of elderly about oral care. Tool II: Oral health related quality of life scale (OHRQoL). Results: Less than two-thirds (62.4%) of studied participants had high levels of knowledge, more than half (58.2 %) of the participants had unsatisfactory practices and the majority of them (84.8%) had poor levels of quality of life regarding oral health . Conclusion: There was highly significant positive correlation between total score of knowledge and practices of studies elderly, and total score of quality of life at P < 0.01.
