The objective of the present study was to synthesize and characterize A. calcarata loaded nanoparticles (ALNP) to be used as a powder form nutraceutical with higher antidiabetic activity. In this study an aqueous A. calcarata extract (4.00 mL) was added to BSA (20 mg/mL, 4.00 mL, pH 9) in the presence of citric acid as the cross-linking agent. The ALNP gave an IC50 value of 147 µg/mL, a glucose (5 mM) uptake percentage of 73.09% at a 0.5 mg/mL concentration, a solubility value of 64%, A. calcarata loading percentage of 6.66% and A. calcarata entrapment efficiency of 87.71%. They had a spherical morphology and uniform size with a particle size of 1030.70 nm, PDI of 0.199 and a zeta potential of 2.57 mV. The UV-Visible absorbance spectra and FT-IR spectra showed that citric acid had caused conformational changes in the protein structure of BSA and that the active compounds were successfully loaded into the synthesized nanoparticles which interacted with the protein matrix via covalent bonds. Therefore, it can be concluded that the synthesized nanoparticles have an antidiabetic effect and the antidiabetic activity of bioactive compounds of the aqueous A. calcarata extract become enhanced when loaded onto the nanocarriers.","PeriodicalId":113806,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Chemistry and Pharmacy","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125867412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, studies involving in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experiments have assessed the cardioprotective effects of 5-Azacytidine during myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). However, the effect of this compound in restoring the damage induced to mitochondrial molecular machinery during IRI has not yet been explored. Understanding this would help us analyze the ways through which mito-targeted therapeutics can be used. The purpose of this study is to investigate the therapeutic impact of 5-Azacytidine, as DNA methylation is a very common epigenetic modification observed during IRI. Furthermore, the protective effect of the compound in alleviating the damage induced to mitochondria during IRI can be identified, as DNA methylation can leave a direct impact on the mitochondrial genes as well. An isolated mitochondria model will be used to determine the effects of 5-Azacydine on mitochondrial molecular machinery as the capacity to generate DNA, RNA, and proteins are preserved in isolated mitochondria. In this study, we focus on the mechanisms of mitochondrial replication, and translation to understand the effect of 5-Azacytidine on the IRI affected mitochondrial system. Mitochondrial dysfunction is also another key turn of events that happens during IRI. The role of 5-Azacyidine in preserving the functionality is also being assessed in our research. The findings of these experiments would help us determine the plasticity the compound imparts on mitochondrial molecular mechanism’s integrity and function post-induced IRI.","PeriodicalId":113806,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Chemistry and Pharmacy","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115692833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To address these crimes and scams, there is an urgent need to build digital forensics training programme, that will equip relevant professionals to investigate computer crime and events efficiently. There is presently no standard that governs the development of an academic program’s digital forensics curriculum. This study extensively investigates prior work on curriculum design in digital forensics as well as existing computer forensics course offered at the first is the Community College in Buraidah, and the second is the Community College in Unaizah namely, “Cyber Security Diploma” The Cyber Security Diploma is offered in both colleges, the Community College in Buraidah and Unaizah, and the diploma is at the third level of the course “Computer Forensic Analysis,” which is the focus of the research topic. Interviews were conducted with both digital forensic trainers and practitioners, and the findings were examined in order to identify and assess the skills and knowledge required by the industry and law enforcement agencies for their digital forensic examiners. Hands-on training may be delivered by constructing and managing a student laboratory specifically designed for digital forensic examination instruction. A laboratory can be outfitted with a wide range of software solutions, ranging from commercial investigation suites to free command line tools. Similarly, the forensic workstations that execute the software might be supplied by the vendor as stand-alone devices or assembled from separate components in-house. Building and administering a student lab successfully can be a daunting task, but it can also be done on a little budget as long as the focus stays on student achievement.","PeriodicalId":113806,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Chemistry and Pharmacy","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125983053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Acyclovir has an exceptional safety profile; there is a possibility that it might induce severe nephrotoxicity in rare cases. In this report, we present the case of a 17-year-old girl with acute renal injury as a side effect of using acyclovir. The patient was admitted for three days due to drug-induced AKI, which was reversed by discontinuing the afflicted medicine (acyclovir), initiating appropriate hydration with intravenous normal saline 0.9%, and refraining from any nephrotoxic medications. Following up a week later, the patient was asymptomatic and had normal kidney function. Therefore, it is critical to use acyclovir correctly to avoid possibly fatal consequences.","PeriodicalId":113806,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Chemistry and Pharmacy","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124137944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The determination of antibiotic residues in this study were carried out using HPLC (LC 1200 series Agilent Tech). The results of the microbial analysis of the honey samples showed that, some of the honey samples were contaminated with micro-organisms. The antibiotics with highest mean concentration in the study were chloramphenicol (6.468±0.03 µg/kg) and sulfonamide (5.553±0.04 µg/kg) from sample HS1 and HG2 respectively. Estimated daily intake (EDIs) of detected antibiotic residues which were compared with the recommended acceptable daily intake (ADIs) for each antibiotic allowed in food. Chloramphenicol was observed to possess the highest risk for adults and children (1.08E-04 µg/kg/bw) and (4.31E-04 µg/kg/bw) respectively in sample HS1. All the EDIs evaluated for antibiotic residues falls below acceptable daily intake (ADI). The target hazard quotient (THQ) and health index (HI) for antibiotic residues in all the samples were < 1, this suggested no risks associated with the level of antibiotic residues risks thus having less danger to human health through its consumption.","PeriodicalId":113806,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Chemistry and Pharmacy","volume":"2016 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125730563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is one of the major challenges to agricultural development and food security of the country. In order to solve the problem of land degradation, a lot of efforts have been made since 1970s. However, at the end the intervention couldn’t be sustainable and able to bring the intended impact. Thus, identification of challenges in relation to land rehabilitation practices is of paramount importance. The study was undertaken in Amba 6 kebele. In order to achieve the objective of the study, both primary and secondary data were generated by employing qualitative and quantitative data. Stratified sampling technique was used to select 76 household heads were selected from on Amba 6 by using stratified random sampling as it is believed that the households are similar with respect to the characteristics that influence the research output. The process of analysis of the study was carried out using qualitative description and quantitative analysis. The quantitative data was analyzed using frequency, percentage and mean when appropriate. The qualitative data was discussed to substantiate the study. The findings of the study indicated that decrease in productivity of farm land, involvement in off-farm activities, increase in size of human population, lack of full cooperation of family members to involve in land rehabilitation practices, low assistance gained from neighbor-hoods, less access to extension service and inadequate attention from woreda Agriculture and Rural Development office are the major challenges encountering the implementation of land rehabilitation practices in effective way.","PeriodicalId":113806,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Chemistry and Pharmacy","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128029052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
