This will be important because until now there is still a gap between reality and expectations of learning quality. Currently, the quality of our learning is not in line with what is expected as the presence of an independent curriculum is expected to strengthen learning transformation efforts. The implementation of the curriculum has been repeatedly carried out improvements and changes as an effort to improve the previous curriculum. This research explains and provides an overview of the implementation of the independent curriculum in supporting creative freedom and learning. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the curriculum in schools in supporting creative freedom and learning has been implemented optimally and is ongoing, although in its implementation there are still many shortcomings and obstacles. To succeed in implementing an independent curriculum, joint efforts and synergy are needed. The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to contribute positively to the implementation of the independent curriculum starting in 2023.","PeriodicalId":113492,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research, Education, and Technology (JSRET)","volume":"103 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139361273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The result showed that the teacher gave direct corrective feedback in students’ English writing by circling the students’ errors and providing the correct answer in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, preposition, article and content. The data from questionnaire for students’ attitude showed most of students agreed that the teacher should point out grammar errors. The students have positive responses by remembering their grammar mistakes and feel more motivated to go on learning when the teacher corrects their error in writing. They answered that they will revise their writing if their errors are corrected by the teacher. This research aimed to investigate the improvement of the speaking aspect in the classroom. This research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles for 25 eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Serawai in the academic year 2014–2015. The results showed that the mean fluency score increased from 24.20 in the first cycle to 28.88 in the second cycle. This shows that speaking is sometimes hesitant. The pronunciation has risen from 24.20 to 30.60, which indicates student’s pronunciation is in the category of not foreign accents and occasional mispronunciation but does not interfere with the understanding. The grammar component was 9.76, increasing to 13.88, indicating that the student’s grammar has occasional errors showing interference control and some pattern but no weakness that causes misunderstanding. The result of the observation and the student assessment also showed that there were improvements in the student's participation during teaching and learning activities. The researcher suggests that teachers can use this technique to help students improve their speaking and other English skills.","PeriodicalId":113492,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research, Education, and Technology (JSRET)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139361177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
