For this reason, matching the value of the input impedance of the rectifier to the optimal AC load is necessary. This paper presents a current driven Class D rectifier with a resistance compression network for 6.78MHz IPT systems, in which the reflected AC load has a minimal variation for a wide range of DC output loads. Experimental results showed a resistance deviation of 31% for an output DC load varying from 10Ω to 80Ω while maintaining high efficiency. Recorded receiving end efficiency range from 96.5% to 88.2%. The achieved compression in resistance deviation could potentially maintain the efficiency of the hosting inductive link above 95%.","PeriodicalId":113182,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC)","volume":"116 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126387349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the WPT system, hybrid inductive-capacitive coupling and iterative receiver-side load control have been proposed to stabilize the received power against impact of standing wave. However, the iterative load control is time-consuming and the received power may fluctuate during control process. In this paper, we propose a load control method based on electromagnetic field distribution to suppress power fluctuation. Experimental results show that the proposed method is capable of controlling the received power without large power fluctuation.","PeriodicalId":113182,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130896601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the commercial application of microwave charging EV is still difficult because of some issues including technologies and safety. This paper introduces a 100 kW high-power class microwave power transfer (MPT) for electric vehicle such as a truck or a bus with 5.8 GHz microwave. The conception of 100 kW class MPT for EV is proposed. We discuss the potential problems of this propose both in technology and safety. Especially, we examine the biological effects of human body exposed to a high density power of 5.8 GHz microwave. We conduct several experiments that human corneal epithelium cells (HCE-T) derived from human eye are exposed to 5.8 GHz microwave with the peak power density of 148 kW/m2 for 30msec/6min. The experimental results indicate that exposed to such high power density in 30msec/6min pulsed-wave would be considered to have no effect on the genotoxicity to human eye cells.","PeriodicalId":113182,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134633773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be one of the safe and convenient battery charging methods. In spite of the great advantages, WPT system generates strong electromagnetic fields (EMFs), which causes interference on the electrical devices such as DGPS, speed controller, Bluetooth data link, and power distribution board in the drone. In this paper, we propose a three phase resonant wireless charger for drone operating at 60 kHz with low EMF and electromagnetic interference (EMI) by guided magnetic flux structure and 3rd harmonic elimination. In addition to additional EMF reduction, the high Q reactive loop shielding is proposed without additional power in three phase resonant magnetic field charging system. The magnetic field simulation results obtained using FEA simulation prove that the high Q reactive loop shielding can reduce fundamental magnetic field harmonics by 0.495 mG at center of the drone from center of the wireless charging platform. Moreover, the implemented three phase wireless charger complies with the ICNIRP guidelines published in 1998.","PeriodicalId":113182,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131676234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In WPT-MRC systems, transmitting (Tx) resonator arrays are often used to extend the range of the power supply. However, it is difficult to design a receiving (Rx) resonator that prevents significant drops in transfer efficiency across the Tx resonator array owing to the complexity that stems from fluctuating coupling coefficients. In order to resolve this difficulty, this paper proposes a genetic algorithm-based Rx resonator array design method. Using the proposed design method, the computed minimum transfer efficiency of a power supply system using a Tx resonator array increased from 3.8% to 42.6%, and the computed results were verified by simulations and measurements.","PeriodicalId":113182,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128997917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
