In the context of controlling and preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the COVID-19 vaccination is carried out. The main priority in administering the COVID 19 vaccination is health workers because they are at high risk of being exposed to the COVID 19 virus. Other Health Workers who are included in the Committee for other Health Workers at Dr Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang also receive the COVID-19 vaccination which is carried out in 2 doses or 2 injections. The COVID-19 vaccination may pose a risk of local or systemic side effects. This study aims to identify the risks that arise after administering the COVID-19 vaccine to other health workers at Dr Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. The design of this study was quantitative using an analytical survey method through a retrospective approach. The population is 534 people consisting of 20 other health professions. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the risks that arise after the administration of the COVID -19 I Vaccination are in the form of systemic side effects, namely drowsiness (67%) and local side effects are pain (58.5%), while after the second Covid 19 vaccination, the most common side effects are pain. Common side effects are local side effects, namely pain (77.3%) and systemic side effects are drowsiness (62.1%). occurred after the administration of the first Covid 19 vaccination (86.2%). After giving the COVID 19 vaccination, there were still 5 other Health Workers who were exposed to the Covid 19 virus (4.6%).","PeriodicalId":112625,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal RSMH Palembang","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134159104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

COVID-19 is one of the latest respiratory virus as known as SARS-CoV-2 which caused acute respiratory syndrome and can lead to death. Pneumonia occurs as one of the COVID-19 comorbidities that occurs at day 5-6 to day 14, indicated by infection and fever which progressively weaken respiratory and immunity system. One of the nutritional therapy for COVID-19 confirmed patients with pneumonia as comorbidity is RKTL (Rendah Karbohidrat Tinggi Lemak) formula which can accelerate recovery, increase O2 level, and decreasing CO2 production so that it will reduce the length of stay (LOS). The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of RKTL formula diet toward LOS for COVID-19 patients with pneumonia as comorbidity. This was a true-experimental study with parallel design clinical trial in COVID-19 isolation ward at RSMH Palembang during May-August 2021. The collected data was primary data consists of before and after intervention as long as the subjects being hospitalized then analyzed univariate to find out the distribution of frequency presented by simple boxplot graph. The study reported that there were differences in average for the LOS among three subject group. The control group has 11 days for the Average Length of Stay (ALOS), where case group XI whom given RKTL formula feeding 1x/day had the Average Length of Stay (ALOS) for 10 days and case group X2 whom given RKTL formula feeding 3x/day had the Average Length of Stay (ALOS) for 7 days. It can be concluded that there was an effect of RKTL formula diet toward the Length of Stay (LOS) for COVID-19 confirmed patients with pneumonia as comorbidity.","PeriodicalId":112625,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal RSMH Palembang","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123583443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors that influence the transmission of covid-19 in nurses at RSMH Palembang. The dependent variable was covid-19 incident on nurses and the independent variable were age, gender, work experience, work area, distance-keeping behavior and compliance with wearing PPE. This research used an analytic observation design with a retrospective cohort approach on 1196 nurses who participated in the RSMH covid-19 screening during the period March 2020-March 2021. The sample selection was carried out using a consecutive sampling technique and 1131 samples were obtained that met the inclusion criteria. Covid-19 occurred in 87 nurses (7.7%). The results of the bivariate test showed that there was an effect of gender (p=0.023), work area (p=0.026) and adherence to wearing PPE (p=0.001) on the incidence of Covid-19 in nurses. The results of the logistic regression test show that compliance with wearing PPE is the most influential factor on covid-19 with a probability of 87.92%. Hospitals must pay more attention to nurses who are at risk of being exposed to COVID-19, namely nurses who are male and work in red zone areas. Guaranteeing the availability of PPE and monitoring and evaluation of PPE compliance must be routinely carried out by hospital management.","PeriodicalId":112625,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal RSMH Palembang","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130542661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This viral infection results in a continuous decline in the immune system, which will result in immune deficiency. People who are immune deficient/immunodeficiency become more susceptible to various types of infections. A 23 year male, a cafe employee, was admitted to hospital with complaints of weakness since 2 weeks before. He has productive cough for 3 weeks.  He had decrease of food appetite, nauseas and vomiting. He had weight loss about 10 kg in the last 4 months. Patient had history of free sex, LGBT, since 2016 and history of hearing loss for 3 months. Laboratory finding showed rhonchi were found at the apex of the right and left lungs, Anti-HIV reactive and Absolute CD-4 count was 53 cell/uL, Gene Xpert MTB was detected, and Acid fast bacilli in stool is positive. Audiometry showed bilateral sensorineural deafness. Patient was diagnosed with HIV stage 4 with pulmonary tuberculosis, tuberculosis collitis, oral candidiasis, wasting syndrome, and sensorineural deafness.","PeriodicalId":112625,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal RSMH Palembang","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123778099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ceruminous adenocarcinoma is rare, accounting for less than 2,5% of all external auditory canal neoplasms. The tumours occur in the outer half of the external auditory canal, excluding direct extension from parotid gland. Adenoid cystic carcinoma is the most common subtypes. Adenoid cystic carcinoma needs to be distinguished from its primary origin from the salivary glands and extends to ear, because they share the same histopathology features and immunohistochemistry. Therefore, combinations of clinical features and radiology is needed to diagnose this tumour correctly.Case description. A female patient, 60 years old, admitted to RSMH Palembang with complaint ofyellow discharge coming out from ear. She also havehearing loss and pain since 6 months before admission to the hospital. One week later, the patient develops facial weakness with no mass on face. CT-Scan examination was performed, with the results showed that the mass in right external auditory canal and extends to the mastoid cavity, maxillary sinus wall and brain parenchym. Biopsy was performed in mastoid region and revealed tumour mass with cribriform pattern, few solid pattern, consists of bilayered neoplastic cells with inner luminal and outer abluminal cells. Immunostaining showed CK7 and CD117 positive in luminal cells, p63 positive in abluminal cells, S100 showed positivity in myoepithelial cells.Discussion and conclusion. Based on clinical symptoms, radiology, histopathology, and imunohistochemical staining, the mass in right mastoidis consistent with a ceruminous adenocarcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma subtypes, originated from external auditory canal.","PeriodicalId":112625,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal RSMH Palembang","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129422303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 8-15% reported cases were distal radius fracture (DRF). The epidemiology data is the foundation of diagnostic and management for DRF patients. However, this has not been studied in Indonesian patients. As a result, the authors decided to study the picture of DRF patients in the Indonesian subpopulation, especially in the Central General Hospital Dr. Mohammad Hoesin (RSMH) Palembang. This research is a descriptive observational study at RSMH Palembang in January-December 2020 with variables of age, sex, mechanism of injury, types of fractures, radial inclination and volar tilt as the parameter of DRF severity. All of these variables are components of the assessment on the medical record. The data in this study were 29 cases and described with the age, sex, mechanism of injury, types of fractures, radial inclination and volar tilt. The most common DRF occurred at the youth age between less 13-25 years (41.4%). DRF happened more in male (75,9%) patients than the female (24.1%) ones. The most common type of fracture is Colles (44.8%). Motorcycle crash (58.6%) is the most common mechanism of injury in DRF. The abnormal radial inclination occurred in 82% cases. Severe volar tilt counted 85% of DRF in this study. DRF happened mostly in youth, male, and motorcycle crash. Colles fracture is the most commonly type of DRF case.","PeriodicalId":112625,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal RSMH Palembang","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115902448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Usually, it starts with a variation in the menstrual cycle length and ending with FMP. The rates of unwanted pregnancies for these women are reported to be around 40–45%. Thus, contraceptive counselling and contraceptive use among perimenopausal women are important aspects of their overall health care if they are sexually active and do not wish to become pregnant. One of them is by using low dose combined oral contraceptive pill containing ethynylestradiol (EE) containing less than 50 µg EE/day. It acts by supressing gonadotropin. There are several positive effects of COC, namely pregnancy prevention; regulation of menstrual cycle; relieving menopausal symptoms; bone protection; protection against ovarian, endometrial and colorectal cancer; lipid metabolism; and blood pressure lowering effect. In contrast, the negative effects of COC are increases the risk of breast cancer, venous thromboembolism, and myocardial infarction. One of the causes is the long-term use of corticosteroids. Systemic corticosteroids are the mainstay of treatment for nephrotic syndrome, so long-term prescribing of corticosteroids should be carried out with caution. It is reported case of a 15-year-old boy with nephrotic syndrome complains of red streaks appearing on his abdomen, back, buttocks, and lower limbs after 2 months of corticosteroid treatment. Pus-filled nodules develop which become ulcers on the red lines of the back. On physical examination found striaedistensae in the abdominal region, posterior trunk, gluteus, femoral and proximal 1/3 bilateral cruris posterior. Found 3 ulcers on the striaedistensae on the posterior trunk, oval to round shape, size 1x1x0,5 cm to 2x1,5x1 cm, base of necrotic tissue, pus contents, wall echoing, edges are not raised, surrounding tissue is erythematous-livid, tenderness, odor, and no induration. On examination of the ulcer swab with Gram stain found Gram-positive bacteria. The culture results showed Staphylococcus aureus. The patient was treated with topical 0.05% retinoic acid every night at SD, and ulcers were treatedsystemic antibiotics of 2 grams ceftriaxone per day for 1 week, as well as ulcer treatment by compressing 1%0 salicylic acid solution, hydrogel, and foam dressing.
