In order to explore the influencing factors of the severity of major road traffic accidents in China, potential influencing factors were selected from the statistical data of 366 major accidents. Fixed-parameter and random-parameter negative binomial model were respectively used to build models for accidents data. The results show that geographical zone, time and date of accident, road administrative grade, season, accident type, road alignment and number of traffic violation behavior are significantly related to the accident severity. Strict management of drivers is an effective way to improve the degree of accident injury.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125983913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dynamic train operation plans during different time periods to meet the needs of passenger travel can reduce train operation costs and improve economic benefits. Defining the total cost as a combination of the cost of passenger time value and the cost of train operation, this paper sets the minimum value of the total operating cost as the goal and establishes an optimization model for evaluating and choosing train operation plans. This optimization model is validated by an example of Shenzhen Metro Line 1 whose weekday peak train operation plan is investigated. Train operation alternative plans, i.e. small marshalling of trains, a combination of long-and-short routing, and connected routing, are evaluated with the optimization model. Lingo software is used to solve the mathematical problem to obtain the optimized the train operation plan, and making decisions based on the results provide a suitable driving organization. Meanwhile, sensitivity analysis is also implemented to check the influence of different values of parameters utilized in the calculation. The example shows that the small marshalling of trains alternative has a significant optimization benefit in the context of the Shenzhen Metro Line 1 whose working day evening peak train operation scheme is investigated.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128164405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The GRDC optimization procedure is to update the GRDC strategies to minimize the difference between the desired diversion rates and the diversion rates obtained from the drivers' route diversion behavior (DRDB) model, which comprises a GRDC model that determines the desired diversion rates to satisfy some system objectives of the GRDC controller, and a controller-estimated drivers' route diversion behavior (DRDB) model that predicts the likely driver route choice decisions in light of the updated GRDC strategies. The experimental results show that the group route diversion control considering dynamic response behavior can effectively provide guidance for drivers, improve the accuracy of traffic state prediction, and obtain better system performance over the same period of operations.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134224142","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generalized linear model (GLM) and classification and regression tree (CART) were proposed to investigate significant influence factors and the importance order of influence factors, respectively. Based on GLM, seven factors were significant in electric bicycle crashes whereas five factors were significant in non-electric bicycle crashes. CART implied the most important factors was type of motor vehicle both in electric and non-electric bicycle crashes. However, other important factors showed different characteristic in the two type of crashes. This paper gives detailed information for electric and non-electric bicycle crashes, which provides reference for government to implement measures precisely.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116979008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key goal of this article is to develop ITS-G5 and 5G test network services related to road weather and pilot use-cases for the special requirements of multi-authority, intelligent traffic, and vehicle winter testing. We have conducted a set of pilot use-cases by considering 5G test network and ITS-G5 networking and performed analysis between them. These pilot measurements, made it possible for Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) to present the pilot road weather services and test experiences and services established in numerous research projects of FMI. The followed research strategy has been practical from innovation, to testing and to appraisal. Main portion of these pilot use-cases have involved a large scale field measurements, system testing and road weather information. As a result, this pilot set-up would be able to provide precise road weather alerts with accurate location and services like forecasting into the road infrastructure. These pilot measurements distributed the real-time road weather data and services through advanced 5G test network or ITS-G5 communication to the vehicles and traffic actors.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127010478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study explores the characteristics of mixed traffic flow with both AVs and human drivers in urban bottlenecks. We investigate the influences of penetration rate (PR) of AVs on the performances concerning traffic efficiency and safety in urban bottlenecks with road width reduction. We developed a cellular automata model (CAM) to realize the microscope simulation of the mixed traffic flow with both AVs and traditional vehicles manipulated by human drivers. The divergences in driving behavior of human drivers and AVs in terms of car-following, lane-change and free-driving are fully delineated and integrated in the simulation. The results demonstrate that the traffic flow stability firstly decreases and then increases with the PRs of AVs and in mixed traffic flow. When PR of AVs reaches 100%, the traffic flow is stabilized and shows high travel speed, indicating higher traffic efficiency. The lane-changing frequency increases when PR of AVs increases, reaching the maximum value at the PRs of 15%-25%, and then gradually drops. The lane-changing frequencies under the scenarios of all AVs are found to be smaller than the scenarios of all human drivers. The actual road capacity is reduced when PR of AVs increases at first, reaches lowest at the PR of 15%-25%, and then gradually rebounds. The risk of collision gradually increases with PRs of AVs, and then reaches the maximum value at the PR of 25%-30%. As PR of AVs continues to increase, the risk will keep decreasing to 0. The findings provide a comprehensive investigation of how the AVs will influence traffic efficiency and safety from different aspects, which are basic for the development and planning of AVs in the future.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126504050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article provides a new idea for flexible pricing and increasing the proportion of entire trains while improving the long-standing problem of insufficient consideration of customer satisfaction for Chinese railway freight transportation, which may contribute to the increase in railway freight market share. In this paper, we suggest a way of providing lower prices (compared to single cars) for entire trains to induce customers to choose the entire train service to improve rail operating efficiency and save cost, which is not been implemented in China. In this case, the cost structure in the rail freight transportation process and the inventory cost of shippers are analyzed. Then, a mixed-integer programming model that maximize the profit of the logistic system composed of the railway company, the suppliers and the customers is developed to find out the optimal discount and entire train operating scheme. Finally, a small computational experiment is used to test the model. The results show that the application of entire train discounts and reasonable arrangements for entire train operation schemes can effectively improve the entire train proportion and system profit.","PeriodicalId":112371,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE)","volume":"31 21","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120867243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
