A new method of recognizing and continuous monitoring lane lines using the Hough transform is proposed in this study. A vehicle is equipped with a camera that takes pictures of the road, which are then processed to enhance the visibility of the lane lines. Hough transforms applied to preprocessed images allow the system to recognize lane lines. In order to ensure continuous monitoring of lane lines, the Kalman filter has been used in the study. A comprehensive set of real-time driving scenarios is used to assess the performance of the proposed system in Python using OpenCV. The results of the trial demonstrate the system’s viability and efficacy.","PeriodicalId":112029,"journal":{"name":"BOHR International Journal of Smart Computing and Information Technology","volume":"27 13","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120859506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This deadly virus affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalisation. Covid-19 most common symptoms include fever, dry and tiredness. It is against this background that in Namibian health environment the country uses a manual system to record public member's demographic information when visiting public places which do not allow tracing and monitoring of every public member who visited the 14 regions in the country. Therefore, the present study developed a National COVID-19 health contact tracing and monitoring system which will allow every public member who visits an enclosed public place by capturing their demographic information as well as the date and time the facility was visited. The system replaces the paper-based method of recording the information of people visiting public places with an entrance that allows the coming in and out of people. The system will also allow for real-time monitoring of temperature changes of individuals.","PeriodicalId":112029,"journal":{"name":"BOHR International Journal of Smart Computing and Information Technology","volume":"25 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113943869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, despite some schools had adopted and implemented eLearning the study discovered that many schools including universities do not fully utilize the platform implemented in their schools and as such many schools have been struggling to adapt to the new environment of online learning. The usage of eLearning across the globe has made work easier for both Lecturers, students, Teachers and Learners to access the system wherever there is internet connectivity. The study discovered that the adoption and implementation of e-learning have been a challenge in Namibian educational institutions due to the of lack ICT knowledge to utilize the e-learning platform, hence it takes time for staffs to acquaint themselves with the new technology adopted or implemented.","PeriodicalId":112029,"journal":{"name":"BOHR International Journal of Smart Computing and Information Technology","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133717650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Z.","doi":"10.54646/bijscit.21","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.54646/bijscit.21","url":null,"abstract":"New digital technology advances throughout the globe are principally responsible for the impetus behind the modern information and communications technology (ICT) industry’s requirement for English language skills. There is a steady increase in highly computerized new machinery, each with more complex, difficult-to-understand instruction manuals that demand a correspondingly high degree of linguistic proficiency. Thus, students studying computer science need access to subject-specific English for both immediate usage and long-term career development. Due to these constant changes and rapid advancements in the technology sector, it was essential to conduct research on the current needs of the ICT industry. It is essential for graduates and professionals in the ICT industry to be able to communicate fluently with teams working in the same field but located in different parts of the world. This can be in the form of written manuals or conversation. The purpose of this study was to interrogate the contemporary English language demands for the ICT industry and the necessary proficiency required of undergraduate ICT majors. The theoretical underpinning of this research was the Material Design Model proposed by Hutchinson and Waters (1). A mixed-methods research approach was used. The total number of participants that took part were 170 (N = 170), thus that is what the sample size was based on. Using convenience sampling, a sample size of 118 was drawn. The results indicated that ICT students often lacked skills in essay writing. The students’ lack of technical language skills seriously weakens the strength of their scientific argument. Students are recommended to attend subject-specific language courses in order to prepare for their present academic and future professional language demands. The study indicated that the existing curriculum for computer science students does not adequately prepare them for the kinds of work that would be available to them in the ICT sector. The study recommends utilizing education support professionals (ESP) professionals to teach English in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses, with a focus on using examples from specialized journals, magazines, and blog channels. The study concludes by suggesting that instructors of computer science language be incentivized to increase their usage of specialized scholarly terminology in their classrooms.","PeriodicalId":112029,"journal":{"name":"BOHR International Journal of Smart Computing and Information Technology","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133459690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the permutation issue in frequency-domain blind source separation needs to be resolved. We investigated the impact of frequency space and separation performance at each frequency bin on the amplitude correlation permutation algorithm with the goal of addressing the permutation ambiguity problem in frequency-domain blind source separation of convolutive mixtures, and we proposed an enhanced permutation algorithm. The improved algorithm uses spacing influence weight and performance influence weight to control the influence of the frequency bins sorted in the neighborhood on the frequency bins unsorted. Experiments have shown that the two influence weights are effective. Finally, blind source separation experiments are performed on the speech signals under the two convolutive mixing models and the simulated room mixing model. According to experiments, the increased signal to interference plus noise ratio of separated signals demonstrates that the improved algorithm outperforms the amplitude correlation permutation algorithm in terms of separation performance and robustness.","PeriodicalId":112029,"journal":{"name":"BOHR International Journal of Smart Computing and Information Technology","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132825474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
