The proposed design consists of a two element printed F-shaped Planar Monopole Antenna (PMA) MIMO antenna integrated with a two elements slot antenna. These slots are presented on ground plane and acts as an isolator as well as radiator. The slot antenna fed by 50Ω microstrip line which is printed on back side of the slots. The F-shaped antenna is resonating at centre frequency 2.495 GHz of WLAN whereas slot antenna operates at centre frequency 2.175 GHz of UMTS band. The overall size of proposed MIMO antenna is 50 × 110 × 1.56 mm3. The minimum isolation between Ant-1 & Ant-2 and Ant-3 & Ant-4 are −15dB and −14dB, respectively. The slots on the ground not only improve the bandwidth at WLAN but also creating additional resonance at 2.175 GHz that further reduces the mutual coupling between Ant-1 and Ant-2. Moreover, all the diversity and radiation parameters are calculated using numerical simulation software and found suitable for MIMO application.","PeriodicalId":111726,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127993407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are numerous PAPR reduction or also recognized as Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) techniques, for instance Clipping, Coding, Dummy Sequence Insertion (DSI), Tone Reservation, Active Constellation Sequence (ACE), Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS), and Selective Mapping (SLM) schemes. Among these methods, SLM-based techniques are very attractive solutions due to their good performance without additional-of-band radiations or in-band distortions. This study demonstrates a performance analysis of an SLM-based method combined with adding randomly generated dummy sequences to power-free subcarriers. Simulation results show that the PAPR of the OFDM based signal can be reduced efficiently by using adequate number of dummies and tolerable number of iterations, and that is a potential scheme for 4G and 5G.","PeriodicalId":111726,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127239779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Enhancement of impedance bandwidth has been achieved by employing dielectric resonator on top of patch resonator as a compact constituent radiating element of the ESPAR array. A 3-element switched beam ESPAR array has been implemented at 15 GHz. Switching is based on PIN-diodes. The achieved impedance bandwidth is more than 24% which is the widest in comparison to DR based ESPARs in the literature. The antenna achieves beam steering in 0°, +25° and −25° directions with maximum gain of 8.26 dBi. Full wave simulations have been presented.","PeriodicalId":111726,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM)","volume":"721 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125988199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, early detection and prediction of hypoglycemic events are of utmost importance. This publication presents a prototype of a wearable hand-tremor system that detects the onset of hypoglycemic events. The results show the prototype is capable of simulating anticipated frequency and amplitude of the tremor relevant for hypoglycemic events. The initial functional performance-tests demonstrate a maximum error of 4.75% in the detecting the tremor frequency.","PeriodicalId":111726,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132765749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
