A standalone PV system energy flow is first analysed using a developed model for a standalone PV system. In finding the optimal size of PV array and battery, a long term data (1975–2005) is considered for Malaysia. Based on the results of the designed example for a PV system installed in Kuala Lumpur, the proposed method gives satisfactory optimal sizing results.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114221658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The utilization of the difference gap between the electrodes allow the system to reduce the applied voltage of the HVDC power supply, while fulfilling the requirements for effective liquid food sterilization. Thus it can reduce power consumption and will reduce cost. In this paper, the CHMI circuit has been simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and the distance of the electrodes gap has been simulated using Quickfield simulation software. Peak output voltage 1.2 kV, 2.4 kV and 6 kV with gap distance 0.1 cm, 0.2 cm and 0.5 cm respectively has been obtained in which the values can produce electric field strength of up to 12 kV/cm. All of the specifications meet the requirements for liquid food sterilization, particularly inactivate saccharomyces cerevisiae spoilage microorganisms in pineapple juice.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116784649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sensorless methods based on high frequency carrier injection have attracted considerable attention in recent years as they can estimate rotor position in a wide speed range. These methods employ anisotropic properties of rotor to estimate rotor position in ac machines. With internal permanent magnet motors, the high frequency signal injection method can deliver precise sensorless control, however in surface-mounted permanent magnet machines, where a small saliency arises from main flux saturation, the estimation of rotor magnet position is only accurate at light load. In this paper a new method is introduced to estimate load angle in order to compensate for the armature reaction in non-salient PMS motors.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124648105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
