It is shown that by selection of a fitness function which controls more than one parameter of the array pattern, and also by proper setting of weight factors in fitness function, one can achieve very good results. For each optimal design, optimal current excitation weights and optimal radii are determined having the objective of maximum Sidelobe Level (SLL) reduction. The extensive computational results show that the CCAA designs having central element feeding with non-isotropic elements yield much more reduction in SLL as compared to the same not having central element feeding. Moreover, the particular CCAA containing 4, 6 and 8 number of elements in three successive rings along with central element feeding yields grand minimum SLL (-46.0 dB). Standard Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is adopted to compare the results of the proposed CRPSO algorithm.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128990437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper presents a novel technique of using a single microstrip line for feeding, impedance matching and frequency tuning of patch antenna instead of using separate transmission line and stubs. The impedance matching and frequency tuning is carried out by varying the width and length of the feed respectively. The paper validates the technique both by simulation and experimentally developing 10.6 GHz circularly polarized patch antenna.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"1657 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129322989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system combines two different techniques, namely OCDMA and WDM in order to support many subscribers simultaneously. In this study, the modified double weight (MDW) code is used as signature address in designing the system because this code can accommodate more number of simultaneous active users under standard acceptable bit-error-rate (e.g. ≤ 10−9). The complementary subtraction detection technique is used to detect the signal. The MDW code is better than other codes for improving the system performance by reducing the multiuser interference in a significant amount. We ascertained by simulation experiments that the proposed system provides high impact performance and enhance the network capacity.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115713741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numerous proposals have been made to improve existing distributed systems by leveraging the inherent trust built into social links. Some researchers believe that augmenting online marketplaces with social networking should improve trust between transaction partners and improve user satisfaction. In this paper, an E-market model via Social Networks was suggested to provide a technique by which the buyers could find the sellers by using social network and vice verse, and communicate with each other directly. The design research methodology “Improvement Research” was adopted in this research as shown in Figure 2. To illustrate the potential of this research approach, conceptual framework was suggested and prototype for E-market using social network model was developed. The initial results show that those who transact with friends of friends generally obtain significant benefits in the form of higher user satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123510007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fundamentals of Source coupled logic (SCL) gates are used with running at sub-threshold regime with the purpose of achieving low power consumption while keeping a satisfactory output swing. The digital system designed for this paper are 4-by-4 array multiplier and a fifty-fifth order FIR filter. The paper also includes modification of an STSCL (sub-threshold source coupled logic) inverter by adding controllable voltage-level feature to it, in order to minimize overall leakage current flow, including both gate and sub-threshold leakage. The modified STSCL inverter has been tested and simulated on a seven-stage ring oscillator design. The rest of the results for the designed digital systems are obtained by separate implementation of the circuits with CMOS and STSCL respectively. Simulations have been performed at similar supply voltage to observe the differences in power consumption. Consumption for the proposed technique came at nW range. All measurements are shown for both 45 nm and 65 nm process technology, with scaling of the supply voltage to an achievable minimum value of 0.4 V.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129916673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The output signal of each pixel is sampled unto the binning circuit basically composed of two adjacent correlated double sampling circuits averaged by means of a row average switch. Correlation amongst signal and interferers is considered in large scale fading environment. We assume each node is power controlled while antenna diversity is present only at the sink. Energy consumption for successful delivery of information from source to sink is also evaluated. Two kinds of interference namely multiple access interference (MAI) and node interference (NI) are considered and an infinite automatic repeat request (ARQ) is assumed at link layer between a sending node and sink till successful delivery of packetized data. An appropriate model for evaluating quality of service (QoS) in terms of probability of outage and BER at sink is presented and validated by simulation. The effects of node density, correlation amongst signal and interferers, and number of antennas used for spatial diversity on outage probability and BER are investigated. The impact of antenna diversity on energy consumption is also indicated.","PeriodicalId":110449,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129426237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
