The global prevalence of CFS ranging between 0.4% and 2.5% is growing. Women are affected by CFS more often than men. It is considered a common condition in developed countries. There is no approved treatment for CFS but symptoms can be managed and controlled persistent exhaustion causes significant impairment in daily routine activities. Lowered ATP synthesis, mitochondrial impairment, decreased oxidative phosphorylation, disruption of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, and an imbalance of brain neurotransmitters play a major role in the pathophysiology of CFS. The purpose of the present study is to figure out the several plants that are used as a source of medication in chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and its current therapeutic approach. The Indian medicinal herbs described in this article are very efficacious in the management of chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms due to the presence of phytochemicals. This review article also covers the current therapeutic approach for chronic fatigue syndrome in a concise form that comprises CBT (Cognitive based therapy), GET (Graded exercise therapy), usage of immunoglobins, psychodynamic counseling, and yoga therapy that includes isometric yoga and yoga nidra are very beneficial in alleviating the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. Antidepressants, immunomodulatory agents, and corticosteroids come under conventional medication for CFS. It destroys essential brain cells, impairing memory, thinking, and behavior in a severe way to impact health, enduring interests, and social life. Memory, cognition, orientation, learning capacity, language, and judgments gradually get impaired. Dementia results from anatomical and functional abnormalities, cerebral ischemia, energy deficits, calcium excess, glutamate-mediated excitotoxicity, and oxidative stress. Vascular dementia (VaD), which accounts for 10-15% of dementia cases, is the second most frequent form of dementia after Alzheimer's disease (AD). There are currently no approved pharmaceutical treatments for VaD, and traditional anti-AD therapies only offer modest, temporary relief from the symptoms of VaD. Since herbal remedies have a multicomponent and multitarget approach, they may provide effective treatments for VaD. Herbal remedies have been used for centuries to address dementia-like symptoms. Despite the availability of various synthetic medications for the management of asthma, it has become one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Furthermore, the present allopathic treatment possesses severe long-term negative effects, which make people more attracted to the safer and easily available indigenous traditional and Ayurvedic system of medicine. Ayurveda is regarded as the “Mother of all healing” and “Science of Life,” which treats all the ailments, including asthma, by restoring a balance between three main components of the body- Vata, Pitta, and Dosha. Various clinically effective and less toxic anti-asthmatic Ayurvedic herbal preparations are available for the management of asthma and related complications which act by causing mast cell deactivation, inhibition of Th1, Th2, Th7 response, T-cell suppression, etc., therefore, efforts have been made to compile all the relevant literature related to the ayurvedic anti-asthmatic formulations and scrutinize the efficacy of selected plants present in the majority in those formulations in asthma along with the structure and mode of action of phytoconstituent responsible for designing novel molecules with better efficacy. The discovery of numerous rejuvenating compounds that can stop or reduce the pathology of many diseases will be a crucial advancement in the coming years. Synthetic compounds can cause health issues and side effects, necessitating the development of molecules derived from plants and other natural resources as viable substitutes for synthetic compounds. Several plant phytochemicals and extracts have been found to have significant effects on traditional medical therapy. Murraya koenigii (M. Koenigii) is a member of the Rutaceae family, well-known in the Ayurvedic system of medicine as a therapeutically important herb of Indian origin. M. Koenigii has been used in several ancient systems of medicine, including Siddha and Unani, as a multi-potential medicinal plant. Previous research has shown that this plant's bark, roots, and leaves are abundant sources of carbazole alkaloids, which have beneficial pharmacological and biological effects. These include antioxidant, antibacterial, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, antifungal, antiprotozoal, hepatoprotective, anti-hypercholesterolemic, antiulcer, cytotoxic, antidiarrheal, phagocytic, neuroprotective, and antitumor activities. The key components of the M. koenigii plant and their pharmacological activities against various diseases using preclinical models are discussed in this review. Exhaustive studies on the molecular mechanism of action of M. koenigii are needed to validate the effectiveness of curry tree and their constituents as potent therapeutic agents. The extract of different parts of EB contains many bioactive compounds such as phenols, flavonoids, and lignans. They show a wide range of pharmacological activities which include anti-inflammatory, anti-infertility, anti-cancer, and effective against Alzheimer’s disease and osteoporosis. ICA was found to be the major constituent of this herbal plant aiding in almost every pharmacological activity\u0000.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The review covers every activity the plant holds and indicates that the plant is a useful source in eradicating a variety of ailments. Researchers have performed invitro and invivo experiments to explore plant capabilities. The plant could be of very much use in botanical and pharmacological fields.
