Dolichos lablab is an Indian medicinal herb with a good source of nutrition, and has insulin-like proteins, thus can be employed in the cure of diabetes. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the lipids and blood glucose lowering effect of Dolichos lablab hydroalcoholic extract by using STZ-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus in-vivo model. Methods: Animals were divided into five groups including vehicle control, diabetic control, extract treated (200 & 400 mg/kg), and standard group. All the treatment was continued for 14 days after the confirmation of diabetes. Food consumption, water intake, serum glucose, insulin, kidney function test, liver, and serum lipid profile were assessed to evaluate the antidiabetic potential of the plant. Results: Phytochemical analysis showed the presence of carbohydrates, alkaloids, flavonoids, protein, amino acids, and terpenoids. Extract treatment significantly diminished HbA1c, and blood glucose levels. In addition, an ameliorative effect on serum cholesterol, triglycerides, and lipoprotein was observed at 400 mg/kg/day dose. Moreover, blood urea nitrogen and hepatic SGPT were also reduced significantly with extract treatment. Objective: In this review, the authors discussed the active chemical constituents and pharmacological uses of Medicago sativa Linn. in various diseases. Methods: This review article gathered all the information after going through the research papers from different databases like Taylor & Francis, ResearchGate, Elsevier, PubMed, Wiley Online Library, and PMC. Results: Alfalfa has been shown to be an important origin of phytochemicals like amino acids, coumarins, alkaloids, carotenes, flavonoids, organic acids, digestive enzymes, phytosterols, saponins, phytoestrogens, phenolic compounds, polyamines, and a few other volatile organic compounds like ketones, terpenes, alcohols and furanoids. This plant is useful in CNS, anxiety, oxidative stress, hepatotoxicity, inflammation, cancer, atherosclerosis, diabetes, burn wounds, vitiligo, reproductive system, myocardial infraction, bacteria, xanthine oxidase and metabolic syndrome. Understanding traditional medicinal plants can open up a wealth of significant bioactive phytoconstituents with numerous significant pharmacological functions. This treasure must be located based on the understanding of old Ayurveda and other traditional references. Sapindaceae family member Cardiospermum halicacabum Linn. is a rich source of phytochemicals, including tannins, saponins, phenols, flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, and sterols. Many of these phytochemicals exhibit antioxidant, anxiolytic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, anti-cancer, anti-microbial, antifungal, anti-bacterial, anti-diabetic, immunomodulatory, antiviral, cardioprotective, mainly neuroprotective properties according to Ayurveda. The plants' aerial parts are rich in phenolic acids, glycosidic compounds, tannins, and sterols. Researchers and academicians are examining the pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and other pharmacological effects of the traditional medicinal plant known as Karnasphota (Cardiospermum halicacabum Linn.), which is cited in Ayurveda as one of the neuroprotective agents. Karnasphota (Cardiospermum halicacabum Linn.) is shown to have promising therapeutic potential by the scientific evidence offered by researchers and academics, and it can be further assessed as a novel candidate for drug discovery. Moreover, Galuteolin is a natural flavonoid that has anti-oxidant, anti-tumor, anti-infective, and anti-inflammatory potential.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000In the present review article, we have collected all scientific information on galuteolin from different scientific databases and analyzed it to know the biological importance and therapeutic benefit of galuteolin in medicine against human disorders. Scientific data on galuteolin were collected from numerous literature databases, such as Google, Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus and Science Direct. Detailed pharmacological data on galuteolin were collected from these scientific sources and analyzed in the present work to know the health-beneficial aspects of galuteolin in medicine. In addition, scientific data on analytical techniques of galuteolin were also collected and analyzed in the present work to know their importance in the separation, isolation, and identification of galuteolin in different plant materials.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The present work signified the biological importance of galuteolin in medicine and other allied health sectors. Pharmacological data analysis revealed the health-beneficial aspects of galuteolin on rheumatoid arthritis, cerebral ischemia, carcinoma, COVID-19, Atherosclerosis, and melanin biosynthesis. Further, intestinal absorption and pharmacokinetic parameters of galuteolin were also discussed in the present work. These investigations have been complemented by molecular docking.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The present study has examined the in vitro antioxidant and antiglycation properties of six aqueous extracts from six medicinal plants (Ammodaucus leucotrichus, Thymelaea hirsuta, Arbutus unedo, Urtica dioica, Ptychotis verticillata, and Caralluma europaea), and two seeds oils from Argania spinosa and Opuntia dillenii. The antioxidant activity was determined by using the DPPH radical scavenging activity test and β-carotene/linoleic acid bleaching assay. In addition, the antiglycation activity was detected by using the hemoglobin protein model.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000All studied plant extracts have shown potent antioxidant and antiglycation activity. Furthermore, to confirm the in silico antiglycation activity of the selected medicinal plants, molecular docking techniques were used assuming that binding energy decreases as compound affinity increases; the best molecules responsible for the remarkable antiglycation activity have also been highlighted.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Antidiabetic herbal medicines are responsible for the inhibition of oxidative activity and glycation. Practising it enhances the overall health and well-being of students. Superbrain yoga (SBY) is a brief exercise based on the principle of ear acupuncture and repetitive 14 squats. It is practised by many students in India and across other parts of the world.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000This systematic review assesses SBY on students' cognitive abilities, academic performance, as well as mental health benefits and discusses if using SBY in academic settings is viable.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The intervention studies of SBY or mixed with other exercises practiced by the student population published in journals and indexed in Web of Science, SCOPUS, and PubMed, are taken into consideration for this review based on PRISMA guidelines. The primary keywords include Superbrain Yoga, Thoppukaranam, and Super Brain Yoga. Studies published in English peer-reviewed journals between 2005 to 2021 were considered.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Fifteen studies met the inclusion criteria. The objective of this systematic review is to perceive the mechanism behind the hormonal effects of vitamin E in PCOS and explore the effectiveness of vitamin E by analyzing the clinical studies. Electronic bibliographic databases, such as PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, DOAJ, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane Library, were searched for clinical studies scrutinizing the effect of vitamin E supplementation on PCOS. The systematic review protocol is registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021272963) and was performed as per the PRISMA guidelines. Records analyzing the hormonal parameters were included. For individual study, the risk of bias was ascertained with NHLBI protocol for controlled randomized studies. There were 1438 records identified, of which seven records were retrieved which met the inclusion criteria. Bibliographic details, number of participants, the dose of vitamin E, duration of the treatment and trial, parameters analyzed, and outcome of each study were extracted comprehensively. In the review, the majority of the studies embraced high-quality studies, which included double-blinded controlled trials, open-label controlled studies, and cohort studies. Vitamin E implies having a progesterone-like impression with estrogenic and androgenic properties. Furthermore, the ability of vitamin E as an antioxidant is also advantageous in PCOS women. The progressive loss of functionality of active neurons causes neurodegenerative disease. Current research suggests that plant-derived foods, such as fruits and vegetables, are a good source of natural polyphenols, which can be effective in reducing the risk factors of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), Huntington’s disease (HD), etc. These polyphenols exhibit cognitive repair and can reduce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) to establish neuroprotection. Various animal models were developed to understand the neuromodulatory and therapeutic activities of polyphenols for the treatment of AD, PD, HD, etc. Moreover, polyphenols indirectly modulate the gut microbiome to generate neuroprotection. Although there is a disadvantage to the low oral bioavailability of these polyphenols, the conjugation can enhance the efficiency of these compounds with nanoparticles. The present review gives an outline of plant-generated polyphenols and highlights their effects in the treatment of various neurodegenerative diseases. As a result, the prevention of aging-related disorders through natural products certainly shows excellent therapeutic efficiency soon. Cuphea comprises about 260 species distributed worldwide among five continents.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000This systematic review aimed to synthesize the information available about the traditional uses, phytochemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology of Cuphea spp. This systematic review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) criteria, with a search in the scientific databases, namely Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, using keywords, such as “Cuphea”, “sete-sangrias”, “Cuphea” and “polyphenols”, “Cuphea” and “flavonoid”, “Cuphea” and “pharmacology”, “Cuphea” and “traditional uses”, “Cuphea” and “toxicology”, and all references found were analyzed. Among 1438 publications identified in the initial screening, 86 studies were included based on eligibility criteria.
