The low dielectric constant and dielectric loss enable low latency devices with enhanced performance as compared to current materials on the market. The Ferro k6.5 – ERS3684 has the lowest dielectric losses on the market (Df =0.00078 at 69 GHz), while the Ferro k3.8 – ERS3702 has the lowest dielectric loss for a material having a k < 4. The electrical and physical characteristics of these compositions make them attractive candidates for a number of high-frequency LTCC applications.","PeriodicalId":109953,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129477895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this aim, resistively-terminated bandstop-filter (BSF) branches with complementary transfer function with regard to the one of the bandpass-filter (BPF) arms are connected at all the FPD ports. In this manner, the generation of out-of-band RF-signal power reflections that can deteriorate the operation of adjacent actives stages is avoided through their dissipation in the loading resistors of these BSF branches. The design-parameter values for first-to-third-order input/output-quasi-reflectionless FPD realizations are provided. Furthermore, guidelines to control their operational bandwidth are detailed. For experimental-demonstration purposes, microstrip prototypes of a frequency-tunable first-order FPD and a static second-order FPD are manufactured and characterized.","PeriodicalId":109953,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP)","volume":"204 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114199517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conductive silver ink is selectively applied on a thin Kapton film to generate the microstrip lines. The Kapton layer is fixed to a High-Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) substrate, which provides mechanical stability and improves the antenna bandwidth. The experimental results of the prototypes show that the performance strongly depends on an accurate electrical characterization of the dielectric materials, as well as an effective union of the multiple layers of the antenna. The sources of deviations between computed and measured results have been determined by further simulations.","PeriodicalId":109953,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121061859","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stopband attenuation and band isolation is increased by introducing one tunable transmission zero for the upper frequency bands. Center frequency tunability is achieved by loading the filter resonators, while the bandwidth is controlled by varactors between adjacent resonators, which control the inter-resonator couplings. The presented filter is designed for a center frequency range from 900MHz to 1.1GHz and for a bandwidth between 40MHz to 80GHz. The tunable transmission zero frequency range is between 1GHz to 1.3GHz to achieve a stopband attenuation above 30dB for the upper bands. The filter performance is experimentally validated.","PeriodicalId":109953,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116254136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed filter provides four transmission zeros on both sides of the pass-band. Through the appropriate design of the sixteenth mode and filter form, the transmission zeros can be controlled with the DGS position. The proposed filters also show a compact physical size as compared to conventional SIW filters. In order to validate the simulated results, the proposed concept is designed, manufactured and measured as an experimental example. The proposed SMSIW filter is a promising component for the design of high-performance telecommunication systems.","PeriodicalId":109953,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132417791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
