In this paper, we propose a novel Neural Network assisted Active Constellation Expansion (NN-ACE) method to reduce the PAPR of OFDM symbols. The extension vector of ACE is learned by an autoencoder to reduce the PAPR while keeping the signal power increment low. Moreover, a compromise between PAPR-reduction and power-increment can be adjusted by a weight factor in the loss function according to different requirements. The proposed neural network based ACE scheme is proved to be efficient of achieving lower PAPR and thus reduce the bit error rate (BER) in a nonlinear channel model.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114484374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Predictive resource allocation is one of the promising candidates to provide ultra low latency communications. In this paper, we analyze the latency performance of the predictive resource allocation with different parameter configurations. The performance metric is proposed by the Mobile and wireless communication Enablers for the Twenty-twenty Information Society (METIS). Simulations demonstrate the correctness of the theoretical results. The result can be used for find the optimal algorithm parameter and examine whether the performance satisfies the requirement or not. Furthermore, we discuss other factors that is possible to improve the latency performance.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115458356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The computation offloading decision of the user equipments (UEs)can be made through wireless link to access the MEC server. Our intent is to minimize the weighted sum cost of the system, which takes into account the energy consumption and time delay, for both task processing and data transmissions, subject to the force delay requirement of the devices. We first formulate the problem as a mixed-integer and non-convex optimization scheme. Enlightened by the superior performance of reinforcement learning (RL)on solving resource control problems, we put forward a novel RL-based scheme for computation offloading and resource allocation in MEC network. Specifically, the MEC node is considered as an “agent”, which first makes decision on whether to offloading the computing task to the MEC server, and then utilizes convex optimization algorithms to settle the radio spectrum and computation resource scheduling problem in each decision phase. The simulation results present that the RL-based method can achieve better computation offloading and resource allocation performance compared to those of local computing and remote computing modes. It also achieves very similar or slightly better performance compared to the genetic algorithm based method.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115736461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To improve the link quality, the V2I channel characteristics should be investigated carefully. In this paper, we conduct a measurement campaign for the V2I channels in the rural macrocell (RMa) scenario at 3.5 GHz. We measured the spatial propagation characteristics of the multipath components (MPCs) in the up link from a roadside base station (BS) to a vehicle. In particular, we have obtained the azimuth and elevation angle of arrival (AoA/EoA) by using a massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channel sounder. We find that the azimuth/elevation power spectrum (APS/EPS) can be well modeled by the Laplace distribution function. We also investigate the root-mean-square elevation/azimuth spread of arrival (ESA/ASA) and model their distributions by the normal distribution. Furthermore, we analyze the received signal power variation with the number of antenna array elements and the beamforming direction based on the established APS model. Finally, we analyze the interference in beamforming and its influence on the link performance. The measurement and analysis results can help to optimize the massive MIMO beamforming scheme for vehicular communications and tracking in the RMa V2I access network.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116188135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the NGDBF decoder sometimes cannot escape from the local maxima. To further enhance the performance of the NGDBF algorithm, an improved NGDBF algorithm called Tabu-List Noisy Gradient Descent Bit Flipping (TNGDBF) is proposed in this paper. A tabu-list is employed to help the NGDBF decoder escape from the local maxima. It is shown in the simulation results that the TNGDBF algorithm gains about 0.2 dB performance compared with NGDBF at the cost of a small amount of complexity increase.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"276 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114098147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper considers a vehicular service radio network consisting of multiple RSUs tasked to push traffic information to passing vehicles, and analyzes the energy efficiency of data transmission. Each RSU has a finite storage room, and vehicles entering the coverage of RSUs would receive packets with service rate determined by their downlink channel conditions. We consider the energy consumption minimization problem over multiple RSUs, under average packet loss probability and average system time constraints. Then, a low complexity algorithm is proposed with joint optimization of the number of RSUs, transmission power, and storage room. Simulation results closely corroborate the analytical results and validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in terms of energy minimization and computation complexity. Practically, our proposed approach can help decide proper deployment of RSUs to achieve energy saving.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114732999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One possible solution to relieve the problem is to use the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as a relay to improve the quality-of-experience (QoE). In this paper, we focus on the allocation of bandwidth and transmission power for multiuser video streaming in UAV relay networks. Our goal is to maximize the total long-term QoE of users, which are determined by the freezing time and the bit rate of video. We employ the Lyapunov optimization theory to transform the original problem with long-term average form into the drift-plus-penalty problem. Considering the energy constraint of UAV, we propose a decentralized allocation scheme using alternative ascending clock auction to derive the optimal solution. Simulations are conducted to demonstrate the the superiority of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"191 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127322497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this strategy, the secondary network offers information security to the primary information in three phases and obtains needed licensed spectrum for the secondary transmission. Specifically, in the first phase, a small part of the primary transmitter's power is allocated for the primary privacy transmission, meanwhile, the remaining power is utilized to beamform the energy signal for energy harvesting. After receiving the privacy signal, two secondary users cooperatively forward the privacy information under jamming protection. In the last phase, SR will occupy the licensed spectrum for the secondary information. For our proposed scheme, we research the transmission reliability and secrecy performances of the primary network and derive their closed -form expressions. Numerical results display the performance improvement of our scheme about the secondary average rate under the primary performance requirements.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126787196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we introduce kernel trick to utilize the feature that channel parameters vary continuously with the changing of location. We first formulate the beamforming problem as a classification problem, and we use a multi-class support vector machine to solve this problem. Then, we propose a custom kernel function based on the metric of maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio. Simulation results show that the proposed method performs well in beamforming and it outperforms other commonly used kernel functions.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124316546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an important technical form of the underlying network of the Internet of Things (IoT). The sensor nodes localization is the premise and hinge to the uses of WSNs. The hop-count of the inter-nodes obtained by the conventional Distance Vector Hop (DV-Hop) localization algorithm is always an integer. Therefore, the connectivity between nodes they described is not sufciently accurate. The compute errors of the separation distance between unknown anchor nodes are signicant. This is the main reason. In the paper, the concept of pseudo hop is raised, and the improved accuracy of hop-relationship between nodes is obtained based on energy. Simulation indicate that the improved algorithm enormously advance the localization accuracy of unknown nodes. Moreover, the algorithm has lower requirements on the quantity of beacon nodes and the communication radius, which primely saves energy consumption and costs.","PeriodicalId":108635,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122146428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
