The excised heart from previously treated rats was mounted and subjected to ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). The high dose of EESA significantly decreases endogenous biomarker enzymes such as LDH and CK-MB activities in perfusate and increases in heart tissue homogenate (HTH). Moreover, biological antioxidants viz., SOD and catalase activities were significantly increased in HTH. High dose of EESA were also found to provide significant recovery in developed tension and heart rate from ischemia. The biochemical findings were confirmed by histological investigations.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129336866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These remedies are most efficacious as they are taken directly from nature. Consumption of greens is a major source of vitamins and micronutrients. They are amazingly nutritious and powerhouse of antioxidants. Some of the plants highlighted here are filled with enormous amounts of proteins, phytochemicals like vitamins, favanoids, caratenoids, and minerals. Thus, turning to green will be a great advantage in the human life, as it provides safety, quality and efficacy, thus ensuring complete freedom from the hazardous effects of other systems.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132015097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shah","doi":"10.5580/6d6","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5580/6d6","url":null,"abstract":"Ayurveda is the only medical science which teaches ‘The understanding of life’. The word kushtha is a term as a broad spectrum entirely which covers almost all the skin diseases of modern science. Therefore only after finding origin, pathogenesis, dosh prominence and nature of disease treatment can be started. So, avoiding further controversy at present we are considering psoriasis as Ekakushtha. As nobody has done comparative study of virechan karma with two different yoga 20 patients under trial were subdivided into Group I & Group II (each 10 patients) to compare the effects of both Virechana yoga. Group I: Virechana karma with Ichhabhedi ras and Group II : Virechana karma with Trivritadi churna. Difference in results in both group were statistically significant with Effect on ASWEDAN in group I was 100%. In Group I Effect on MATSYASHAKALOPAM was giving 86.20% relief. In VARNA Group II was giving 65% relief. Effect on PIDIKA In Group II was 100%. In Group I Effect on KANDU shows relief of 83.33%, Effect in group I showed improvement of 100% on VEDANA, Effect in group I on RUKSHTA was 95.65% . In case of VATA dushti, group I showed relief of 90.32%, which is also highly significant at P<0.001.while In PITTA prakopa second Group showed improvement of 83.90% . In KAPHA dushti, relief of Group II therapy is providing relief of 91.32%. In Srotodushti group I on RASVAHA showed 85.74% relief and In case of SWEDAVAHA 72.22% relief was obtained in group I. Same way in case of RAKTAVAHA in group II 85.74% relief was achived.In MANSAVAHA 81.74% relief was seen in Group II. Better result in group with Icchabhedi ras is because eka kustha is tridosh vyadhi with prominent vata kapha dosha and Icchabhedi ras is having effect on vata kapha dosha. If we see individual symptoms, patient in group two shows more improvement in symptoms due to kapha pitta dosha.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128102024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Soyabean is the seed obtained from the pod of the plant and is classified as oilseeds. It is rich in protein carbohydrates, saponins, phytiacid and oil but has lower levels of calcium. It has wide range of therapeutic as well as pharmaceutical applications. It has sedative, antispasmodic, diaphoretic, anti-pyretic properties, with hormonal balancing effects, can be used to prevent breast cancer, prostate cancer, endometrial cancer and baldness and has great benefit to the liver and circulation. It acts as a component of easy release jelly and also as an agent that provides good hardness and disintegrating property. It has application in sunscreen cream, moisturizing cream, and anti-wrinkle cream. Although it has many advantages and use but it is not without risk such as it can increase the rate of tumor growth in persons already suffering from cancer.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122666823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present experiments on Yersinia enterocolitica [ATCC –23715], report the effects of such energy transmitted through a person, Mahendra Trivedi, which has produced an impact measurable in scientifically rigorous manner. Methods: Yersinia enterocolitica strains in revived and lyophilized state were subjected to spiritual energy transmitted through thought intervention and/or physical touch of Mahendra Trivedi to the sealed tubes containing strain and were analyzed within 10 days after incubation. Results: The results indicated that Mahendra Trivedi‘s energy has changed 20 of 33 biochemical characteristics of Yersinia enterocolitica along with significant changes in susceptibility pattern in 15 of 32 antibiotics. The Biotype number has changed from the original unblessed strain giving rise to 2 different biotypes in blessed samples while the external energy /treatment given was the same for all blessed samples suggestive of random polymorphism as analyzed through an automated machine. Conclusions: These results cannot be explained by current theories of science, and indicate a potency in Mahendra Trivedi energy, providing a model for science to be able to investigate the impact of spiritual energy in a rigorous manner.In lyophilized state, biochemical and enzymatic characteristics could be altered.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115598737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of present study is to investigate the anti-diarrhea activity of Rhizophora mucronata bark extracts as traditional used by people of India. The chloroform, ethyl acetate methanol and water extracts were subjected for antidiarrhea activity in castor oil induced and gastrointestinal motility test in albino mice and effect on spasmogen induced contractility in isolated guinea pig ileum. The phytochemical analysis was carried. The bark extracts showed inhibition of castor oil induced diarrhea and very significant percentage inhibition of charcoal meal in mice. The bark extracts did not inhibit the acetylcholine and histamine induced contraction of isolated guinea pig ileum up to 10 mg/ml concentrations. The study supports the anti diarrhea activity of Rhizophora mucronata bark, as evident from the castor oil induced and gastrointestinal motility and indicating a different mechanism of action.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131383551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study was to evaluate the diuretic activity as traditionally claimed, from successive petroleum ether, benzene, ethanol and aqueous extract of fenugreek seed. Method: The diuretic activity of the successive extract of fenugreek seeds was investigated in wistar rat, according to Lipschitz method. Phytochemical analyses of the extracts were carried out. The Na+, K+ ion concentrations were estimated by flame photometer, and Cl ion concentration was estimated by titration against silver nitrate. Results: The diuretic response and electrolyte excretion potency from petroleum ether, and benzene extract were remarkable in comparison with the control animals. The extract at 150 and 350 mg/kg body weight showed a dose dependent increase in volume of urine, the naliuretic activity seen by increase in Na +/ K+ ions ratio with respect to control. Conclusion: The study indicates that aqueous and benzene extract as an effective diuretic and naluretic; thus, the work supports the traditional claim about the fenugreek seeds being used as diuretic.","PeriodicalId":107168,"journal":{"name":"The Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130571676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One hundred eighteen patients weren’t properly treated and followed up, due to non treatment compliance and absenteeism to Primary Health Care and Hospital institutions. The Hysterectomies were necessary to be done in 58 patients from 193 total operated. The clinical evolution on the treated patients showed that the multidisciplinary approach was more effective than other isolated modalities of treatment. The level of recovering from their diseases on our 43 patients into the Natural and Bioenergetics Protocols was much better than others as well as the number of post operative and adjuvant complications were less. During the studied period 4 patients died from 43 into the Natural & Bioenergetics Protocols and 47 deaths were reported of 150 patients treated with conventional therapeutic modalities.
