This study aims to describe the mental system of visual excitatory selection of words and to hear the sounds of English and Indonesian laterally from a neurolinguistic perspective. This study applies a phenomenology-based qualitative descriptive approach. The informants of this study were 22 elementary school children. The method used to collect data in this study is the method of observation and literature with recording and note-taking techniques. The techniques used to analyze the data are statistical and descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the response to word sight stimulation is longer than the sound auditory stimulus trigger. From the point of view of the lateral mechanism, the responses of elementary school students to Indonesian word stimuli in English are, on average, more extended than the period for responses to English word stimuli in Indonesian. It is due to the limitations of the English lexicon, factors outside the language, psychological conditions, and combinations of motor movements that interrupt the focus of word calling. The lateral processing system model of words and sounds contributes to the teacher as a guide for implementing teaching strategies.","PeriodicalId":107037,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal Of Educational Research and Review","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126607684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Education is one sector where the enrollment of women is far less than the enrollment of men. While there are many factors behind it, the current research will look at one of the least researched phenomena of sexual harassment as the cause behind the lack of registration. The issue of sexual harassment is the least studied in Muslim countries. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of patriarchal social norms, long distance to school, the presence of female teachers, and sexual harassment as factors causing the enrollment of girls. This type of research is quantitative. The sample for this study was 200 respondents collected through a multistage sampling technique from eight rural locations. The methods used in collecting data are observation and questionnaires. The instrument used in collecting data is a questionnaire sheet. The technique used for data analysis is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The study results show that society plus culture, especially in rural areas, causes low literacy in girls. These social and cultural boundaries create obstacles for women in social action. As a result, most girls are confined to the confines of their homes. The majority of respondents said that traditional cultural values influenced girls' education. The community does not agree to send their daughters to school to work because of the unsafe environment.","PeriodicalId":107037,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal Of Educational Research and Review","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122936694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
