The physical model was made with a cylindrical channel. Outer surface of the chimney is provided with black paint which absorbing solar radiation to heat up the air inside the chimney. Openings provided at the bottom and top of the chimney allow moist air to enter from the drying chamber and leave the channel. Steady state heat transfer equations were set determining the heat transfer coefficient and the air flow in the chimney. The thermal performance of the solar chimney as determined from the surfaces, air temperatures, and air mass flow rate are presented.","PeriodicalId":104429,"journal":{"name":"Hungarian Agricultural Engineering","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130421206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Korzenszky","doi":"10.17676/hae.2021.40.70","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17676/hae.2021.40.70","url":null,"abstract":"With approximately 1.2% growth annually, the industrial sector accounts for 54% of the total consumed energy globally. Most of those facilities use fossil fuels to generate their needs. Renewable energies, mainly solar energy, can play a major role in meeting the global policies of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Presently, Hungarian researchers exploit more energy from renewable energies such as solar sources, wind, and biomass. Knowing that reducing the carbon emission level is a general tendency in Hungary. This article presents an extensive analysis of the solar thermal system in the central European climate, especially in Hungary. The scope of this study is the low-to-medium heat generation in industries such as pharmaceutical, pulp & paper textile, food processing and beverages. Through all the applications, the heat is consumed in hot water form. Integrating solar thermal technology in the industrial sector depends mainly on solar radiation, conventional fuel prices, available installation area, and the complexity level of integrating the solar system with the existing process. Furthermore, more challenges show up during the integration of economic difficulties. This article analyses the feasibility of providing industrial hot water for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in different Hungarian counties. The analysis was performed using T*Sol 5.5 software, and metrological data were obtained by MeteoSyn built-in software. Results indicate that the most suitable region for integrating solar thermal energy was Szeged, Szolnok, and Kecskemet, which supplied 54.89%, 54.16%, and 54.03% of the total heat load for the studied case, respectively. This result accounts for 849.57, 840.25 and 839.27 kWh/m2 of specific generated heat of the solar system. In addition, it results in points that the annual carbon dioxide saved amount is up to 4,442.3 kg and 2,100.7 m3 annual amount of natural gas. In conclusion, Hungary has a potentially attractive market for solar thermal systems to provide industrial hot water for small and medium-sized factories.","PeriodicalId":104429,"journal":{"name":"Hungarian Agricultural Engineering","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116590817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conditions related to heating technology are required for dehydrators that prevent the vegetables and fruits from suffering too much damage to their internal components. In the new system, traditional convective heat transfer was combined with microwave dehydration, which is well-known for its better efficiency. The final goal is to create an industrial system that can satisfy both small works and industrial demands, while being more energy efficient than traditional solutions, and has faster dehydration potential. However, at the same time, due to dehydrating on lower temperature, it should end up in a gentler drying process. It is fundamental to keep the valuable components of the products intact. The system is continuously operational. The material is sent via conveyor belt through the canal, while magnetrons are operating, and low- heat and moisture airflow is moving above it. Materials dried with the machine were evaluated by the Institute of Horticulture, at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences s (MATE).","PeriodicalId":104429,"journal":{"name":"Hungarian Agricultural Engineering","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123113698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Solar collector, updraft tower and air turbine are the main components of a solar chimney unit, however, the turbine plays a royal role because it converts the kinetic energy of the heating air into useful mechanical energy. In this study, I measured the power, flow rate, rotational speed and pressure drop of the designed and industrial turbines within the wind tunnel, and the power coefficient of the turbines are calculated by measured values. The turbine was designed according to the blade element theory modified to consider the surrounding duct. we measured the electric power, flow rate and pressure drop of the turbine, and the power coefficient of the turbine is calculated by measured values. Testing of the designed and industrial turbine within wind tunnel shows that the highest power coefficient of the designed turbine is 0.45, while the highest power coefficient of the industrial turbine is 0.32. The designed turbine produces 28.89% higher than the industrial one.","PeriodicalId":104429,"journal":{"name":"Hungarian Agricultural Engineering","volume":" 46","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120827097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After that, all of the market actors recognised that this technology would be very important for agricultural electronics. The appearance of ISOBUS products in the market was in the mid-2000s. ISOBUS description could be found in ISO-11783. It is a very complex and large electronics protocol standard based on CAN and SAE-J1939 standards, extended for the Agricultural Industry. The standard consists of 14 different parts and more than thousands of specification pages. Through the standards and the related technical background, the production processes and the operations could be followed and monitored by the extensive Data Management. Farmers' and users legitimate needs and developing goal is to elaborate a decision support systems that follow-up the utilisation of the machines and ensure the quality of operations. For this purpose, it is essential to determine which technical, economical, technological parameters, detection, measurement, transmission, processing, and evaluation becomes necessary. The two techniques (cone penetrometer and bevameter) enable measurements to be made in situ. However, the penetrometer is the only equipment that can evaluate soil resistance variation with depth. Neither the cone index nor the gradient that belongs to it concerning the depth is uniquely associated with density or soil cohesion but varies with structural state and moisture content. Moreover, the formation of compaction zones and soil bodies ahead of the cone efficiently alters its geometry, thus the penetration no longer reveals the original characteristics of the soil. Furthermore, the bevameter technique only identifies surface soil properties. Nonetheless, among all the presently available techniques, the bevameter gives the closest imitation of vehicle-terrain interaction.","PeriodicalId":104429,"journal":{"name":"Hungarian Agricultural Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129838349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
