The cells are initially laid out and the parasitic netlists are extracted. Unlike the traditional method of computing timing and power data using non linear delay and power models we use more accurate composite current source (CCS) based characterization for very deep sub-micron technologies. We tested our tool with a library for 65 nm. The library file generated by our tool was successfully compiled by synopsys library compiler and is used to synthesize a Verilog code using synopsys design compiler.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"206 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123019189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to reduce the time consumption and errors in the quality evaluation, in this research work, a simple loudspeaker diagnosing system is developed based on the harmonic distortion. The faulty and normal loudspeakers are tested using the sound emanated from the loudspeaker in the frequency range between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. A fast Fourier transform (FFT) is applied on the recorded signal to transform from time domain to frequency domain and the frequency spectrum is obtained. From the frequency spectrum, first six frequency band and it corresponds the total energy are computed and chosen for further analysis. The total energy of the each frequency band signal are obtained and used as features for training the neural network. A simple neural network model is developed for the automatic detection of loudspeaker faults. From the result it is observed that the proposed method is able to classify the faults with an accuracy level of 84%.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115363101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three users, each with the data rate of 10 Gb/s were successfully multiplexed and transmitted over a single WDM channel, which can offer a possible transmission rate of 30 Gb/s per WDM channel. The performance of AP-DCDM technique is examined, with comparison to 30 Gb/s Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) . Back-to-back receiver sensitivity of -29.2 dBm with OSNR of 22.5 dB was achieved for the worst user, together with the chromatic dispersion tolerance ranging from 207 ps/nm to 276 ps/nm. A comparison with conventional TDM technique shows a clear advantage of the proposed AP-DCDM technique.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115479999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To meet this need, this paper proposes a content-based image authentication scheme that exploits structural digital signature scalability in order to achieve a good tradeoff between security and data transfer. In the proposed scheme, multiscale features are used to make digital signatures robust to image degradations and key-dependent parametric wavelet filters are employed to improve the security against forgery attacks. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is able to distinguish tampering areas in the attacked image. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115688387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trend in VLSI industry is moving toward designs that are more complex, higher operating frequencies, sharper rise times, shrinking device sizes and low power consumption. Although the device noise sources (i.e. shot noise, flicker noise, thermal noise) are still not an issue in the performance of digital circuits, external noise sources (i.e. crosstalk, power/ground bounce, substrate noise) significantly degrade the performance and the reliability of digital integrated circuits. These external noise sources are mostly due to the fact that on-chip interconnects act like transmission lines and that the neighboring wires exert electric and magnetic couplings on each other. Among the various external noise sources, problems related to the on-chip capacitive crosstalk are particularly important. Because the thickness of the wires is not scaled down by as much as the width of the wires and because the wires are packed ever closer to each other, the inter-wire coupling capacitances become larger, the ratio between the coupling capacitance and the total capacitance increases, and as a result the capacitive coupling noise increases[6].High-speed digital circuits heavily use the dynamic logic family. Dynamic circuits with their two phases of operations are more susceptible to this kind of noise compared to the static logic.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129036590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This question arises because the carrier phase, while intentionally varied in the transmitter by the modulating waveform, can be altered by the channel and thus affects the accuracy of detection. When there is perfect time synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver, coherent reception can be implemented using coherent oscillators, matched filters, and amplitude detectors. When phase coherence cannot be assured, the demodulator and matched filter are followed by an envelope detector. At low power levels, in order to obtain a good quality signal, one must use a certain level of signal power while maintaining an acceptable Bit Error Rate (BER). This tradeoff is often measured as a function of energy per bit vs. noise power density (Eb/No) required at the receiver's input. Higher level modulation schemes (M-ary keying), except M-ary FSK, decrease bandwidth occupancy but increase the required received power, and hence trades power efficiency for bandwidth efficiency.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124683201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This structure is based on the Brillouin Stokes generation in a 6.7 km single mode optical fiber (SMF) spool. Counter-propagating Stokes is generated in the SMF as the injected Brillouin pump exceeds the threshold and the transmitted Brillouin pump signal at the other end of SMF is recycled to the SMF which acts as the Brillouin gain medium by an optical mirror. The reflected Brillouin pump amplifies the generated Stokes line and reduces the Brillouin pump threshold. There are two main difficulties in this field: how to maintain accuracy rate under incremental amounts of training data and how to reduce the time processing in the case embedded systems need to consider about efficient and simplicity of calculation. Recently we have proposed three difference hybrid pattern classification approach for text independent speaker identification system; in these approaches, we combined a hybrid GMM/VQ and decision Tree model. In this paper, we extend our investigations in order to select the most suitable hybrid GMM/VQ+DT model for real time application. For the first proposed hybrid modeling, both VQ model and GMM model will run parallel after signal preprocessing process; while the second type of proposed hybrid modeling, we present the use of decision tree in VQ techniques. The third method are extended from the second hybrid modeling which is using VQ decision rules for Gaussian mixture modeling in order to simplified the process. Experimental result shows that the third type of hybrid modeling should be considered for real world application due to the superior performance of time processing.","PeriodicalId":103889,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Electronic Design","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130564183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the critical processes in verification and validation is to define the best requirement and method for optimization the system in term of quality of services (QOS) for data management. This is important to avoid problem in data management, time management and data lost. Agent technology is useful to be implemented in the verification and validation of RFID system architecture because intelligent agent has a capability to define specific verification and validation process in order to improve the efficiency of the RFID system.
