The motivation for these efforts is to improve officer safety by allowing the officer to operate the police cruiser's electronics and mobile data terminal (MDT) using voice commands so he can continue to focus on the road when driving. Project 54, which is representative of the work in this area, allows an officer to use a microphone and push-to-talk button on the steering wheel for voice interaction with vehicle's MDT and electronics. This project's focus is on the officer's access to the cruiser's electronics and computer from outside the vehicle while responding to an unknown-risk call. Tactically, it is absolutely imperative that the officer be able to maintain visual contact of the potential threat. Accessing the electronics and MDT by voice avoids the division of attention that occurs if the officer is forced to look at a keyboard or computer screen. While Project54 appears to have been successful in making driving safer, its microphone technology limits its use to the interior and immediate vicinity of the cruiser making it unsuitable for tactical situations. We are investigating the use of the officer's off-the-shelf, portable radio packset to interact with the cruiser's MDT from outside the car. We do this by using the officer's packset to communicate with a transceiver attached to the MDT which also has an audio and control interface to the cruiser's in-car mobile radio. Transmissions received from the officer's packset by the MDT's transceiver are processed by a software module running on the MDT. Ordinary radio transmissions are forwarded to the in-car mobile radio, which rebroadcasts them. Voice commands, such as a computer aided dispatch (CAD) command are executed and responses converted from text to speech and rebroadcast by the MDT's transceiver to the officer's packset. A significant feature of this approach is that none of the hardware needs to be replaced. The only requirement is the addition of a transceiver (another packset like the one the officer carries), some cabling and software. Such a method relies on the surface transient temperature vs. time curve initiated by a short-duration heating pulse that is followed by time intervals during which the temperature response sensitively depends on absorption coefficient and thermal diffusivity. An analytical solution of the problem has been derived to solve the inverse heat transfer problem and, by comparison with a numerical experiment, to check the accuracy of the proposed algorithm for obtaining absorption coefficient at the excitation wavelength and thermal diffusivity. The speed reducers on the basis of transmissions with IRB can be applied in various mechanisms now. For example, in transmission mechanisms of automobiles and other vehicles and in drives of lifting-transport mechanisms etc. However, one of such lacks of the high-loading transmission is the heating up to considerable temperatures (80 120 degC) by high speed of driving link (more than 1000 rev/min). There was a try to reduce friction into cycloid tooth system and the new transmission with IRB was created. A technique of temperature account of new transmission also is offered and the temperature tests of experimental breadboard models of the transmission with IRB are carried out. Our purpose was to lower of heating temperature of the mechanism. In such problems has well proved a method of finite and boundary elements. This approach allows to lead direct calculation of a sheaf of tanks, that considerably facilitates procedure of construction of mechanical analogue. Dynamic pressure of a liquid upon stacks of a tank within the limits of a direct method of boundary elements is expressed through moving shells and the mass and rigidity matrix of the attached weights of a liquid which joins in the settlement scheme together with matrixes of weights and a tank, received as a result of digitization of a design of a tank on FEM is calculated. After the decision of the generalized problem of own values for the received matrixes integrated characteristics of fluctuations which can be used at construction of mechanical or \"matrix\" analogue of a tank for the decision of the general problems of flying device dynamics can be found. For developing feasible components, problems of huge dimensionality and non-linearity must be resolved. Image recognition consists of three stages: calibration stage, feature extraction (or representation) stage and recognition stage. For recognition stage, state of the art methods including nonlinear methods were proposed. On the other hand, linear methods, such as principle component analysis and linear discriminant method, are commonly used yet for feature extraction stage. Self-organizing feature map and spectral clustering are candidates of the non-linear feature extraction. Both methods have many empirical successes because of their simplicity and non-linearity. In this paper, we analyze characteristic of those methods. A summary of their characteristics shows the possibility to combine the both methods into a new approach. However, successful and satisfactory results have not been obtained because the temperature-dependent thermophysical properties of brake disk materials are not sufficiently known. In this study, the thermal diffusivity and the specific heat capacity of three kinds of iron series brake disk materials, FC250, FC170, and FCD50, and two kinds of aluminum series brake disk materials, Al MMC and A356, were measured in the temperature range from room temperature to 500 degC and the thermal conductivity was calculated using the measured thermal diffusivity, specific heat capacity, and density data. The result shows that the thermophysical properties of the aluminum series are larger than those of the iron series by 2-4 times. The watermark message is embedded in the most significant place in original audio file. By decomposing the audio file into smaller frequency band using wavelet transform, the watermark message can be included in the coefficients. The watermarked audio signal is obtained by wavelet reconstruction. The advanced Wigner method, which is based on STFT (short time Fourier transform) and Wigner, takes advantage over other methods. It considers the most significant frequency band and certifies the watermark existing in the product with ease. Using wavelet transform makes good use of the multi-resolution characteristics of it. During detecting the watermark message, the original audio signal is not needed, just only watermark keys are used. The simulation results show that the algorithm is inaudible and robust to strong attacks such as noise addition, filtering and re-sampling. An applied load must overcome this residual stress before the crack can grow, thus leading to a longer fatigue life. The cold expansion of the holes is largely employed to obtain improvement in fatigue performance of structures with initially uncracked holes. In this research, considered is a fatigue crack growth from a hole under the influence of residual stress. The entire cold working processing- including hole expansion, elastic recovery, and finish reaming of two aluminum alloys 2024-T351 and 7075-T6 is simulated. This method of fatigue life prediction is compared with a superposition technique and experimental data. The crack closure level is computed from a finite element simulation and a fatigue life is predicted. Decentralized control scheme is used to provide the desired transient performances and spacing error given that an on-board equipment allows to measure the ego-vehicle's relative position with respect to its preceding vehicle. The paper treats a question of controller design in presence of such uncertainties as mass of the vehicle, aerodynamic drag, and tire drag. The presented design methodology of continuous-time decentralized controller guarantees desired transients by inducing of two-time-scale motions in the closed-loop system. Stability conditions imposed on the fast and slow modes and sufficiently large mode separation rate between fast and slow modes can ensure that the full-order closed-loop autonomous vehicle following system achieves the desired properties in such a way that the transient performances are desired and insensitive to external disturbances and vehicle's parameter variations. The method of singular perturbations is used throughout the paper. Unfortunately, this protocol has not supported real-time traffic yet. Therefore, several researches of supporting the real-time traffics on Ethernet are proposed. These approaches either implemented or proposed the real-time guarantees based on switch. Some of these approaches also supported both hard real-time and soft real-time guarantees. This paper represents an efficient switched Ethernet communication protocol for hard real-time and soft real-time traffics without any modification of the Ethernet hardware. Hard real-time communication management is handled by thin RT layer added between Ethernet protocol and TCP/IP Internet suite in the end-nodes. In addition, this paper also considers the guarantee to connect several switches into a system that can support hard real-time traffic. Moreover, this paper compares our suggested protocol to existing hard real-time protocols. The Ethernet switch adopts the EDF (earliest deadline first) that is a dynamic-priority scheduling algorithm to verify the scheduling feasibly and dispatch the coming packets. We also implement the AQC (active queue control) to solve the high network traffic load problem.
