In general, it is almost impossible to check the fault of all parts, coming from part-feeding system, with only manual inspection because of time limitation. Therefore, most of manual inspection is applied to specific samples, not all coming parts, and manual inspection neither guarantee consistent measuring accuracy nor decrease working time. Thus, in order to improve the measuring speed and accuracy of the inspection, a computer-aided measuring and analysis method is highly needed. In this paper, a computer-vision-based pipe inspection system is proposed, where the front and side-view profiles of three different kinds of pipes, coming from a forming line, are acquired by computer vision. And the edge detection is processed by using Laplace operator. To reduce the vision processing time, modified Hough transform is used with clustering method for straight line detection. And the center points and diameters of inner and outer circle are found to determine eccentricity of the parts. Also, an inspection system has been built so that the data and images of faulted parts are stored as files and transferred to the server.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128111043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To access the resources managed by slide, users should be registered to Slide with appropriate access privileges. Unfortunately, as of now, it is very cumbersome and time-consuming to add users to slide, setting up access privileges on the resources for them. So, to support efficient administration of the slide system, it is desirable to provide administration tools which can simplify those administrative activities. As one of such tools, we developed an administration tool for the slide system named SlideAdmin. Using SlideAdmin, the system administrator can add or delete users and roles more efficiently. SlideAdmin is composed of JSP pages for the user interface and Java Servlets performing the related administrative logic.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126530284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fuel cell powered e-vehicle has advantage in zero-emission, soundless driving, and quick fuel recharging time. However, it also has disadvantage in high manufacturing cost and durability issue. The development of fuel cell main component materials such as MEA, electrocatalyst and membrane has close relationship with the efficiency, durability and cost of fuel cell system. Recently, the concern about the durability of fuel cell system is focused because the lifetime is most important in market. The required lifetime of fuel cell in FCV is 5,000 hours and it is a tough target considering harsh driving condition and frequent start and stop of vehicle. The performance and durability of MEA is mainly dependent on the electrocatalyst and membrane. The degradation behavior of electrocatalyst and membrane are studied using various methods. We are aiming to develop MEA with high performance and durability for FCV through the research of electrocatalyst, membrane and MEA manufacturing.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121659647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have applied it to an electronic control and detection system for a dry hybrid belt continuously variable transmission (A-CVT) developed by us, and it realizes the communication between the engine electric control unit (ECU) and transmission electronic control unit (TCU). The principle diagram of CAN bus control area network, the main software flow chart and hardware circuit are shown, and the experimental data wave cures when communicating are obtained. Through test with our experiment sample car equipped with the TCU and the network control system of CAN bus developed by us, the accelerating time up to 100 Km/h is 22s; and 23s with original in the same situation. Automotive engine mounts are required to constrain motion of engine shake resulting from low-frequency road input of shock excitation and also to isolate noise and vibration generated by the engine with unbalanced disturbance at the high frequency range. The property of the mount depends on vibration amplitude and excitation frequency, which means that the excitation amplitude is large in low excitation frequency range and small in high frequency range. In this paper, theoretical works with new model of the mount to isolate vibrations related engine were conducted by an optimal algorithm to control area of inertia track under shock and multi-signal force excitation is considered. With this research show clearly volumetric stiffness of the mount is greatly changed according to the changed area of the inertia track. Therefore, when the area of the inertia track is tuned, the transmissibility of the mount is effectively reduced.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117029062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Present study focus effect of intermetallic phases on mechanical properties of cast A356 alloy wheels. It was found that each alloy has different types of intermetallic phase in the microstructure. Also, low pressure casting A356 alloy wheel were remelted and tested for mechanical properties. It shows that 5976 alloy containing higher iron shows the decreased in strength and elongation. However, the hardness is higher than 5975 alloy. This is mainly due to the presence of brittle beta-AlSiFe phase in the microstructure. The large size of beta-AlSiFe phase was usually precipitated in the slow solidification area.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121115815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wireless acoustic sensors are popular in networked data fusion systems and those also can be applied to vehicular target tracking systems. Even though data association is not possible when we use acoustic sensors (because measurement signal is superimposed signals of multiple sources), we can track vehicular-targets identifiably that are detected. We detach detection part from the whole tracking procedure (usually 'tracking' means by both detection and estimation with data association) and provide with detection algorithm for the variable number of vehicular-targets in wireless acoustic sensor networks. ADMAN attaches every target to specific sensor exclusively so that detected vehicular target's location can be known approximately depending on the range of the sensor during the detection procedure. Estimation step can be applied after that and completes the tracking procedure. We focus on only detection part in this paper.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131066389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system uses frequency-shift scheme to create a replica from an original signal. However, differing from previous works we use a part of the input signal to add the replica instead of the whole signal. The most significant part of the signal is extracted first and then RMM is applied to that part. The proposed method makes the system stronger against common audio signal processing such as noise addition or re-sampling. Besides, it has adjustable parameters which allow the system to be adaptable for various data sets. These parameters can be used to control the trade-off between imperceptibility and robustness. This kind of system has a simple design, high quality and good robustness. The more important thing is its strong security inherited from RMM which is immune from synchronization attacks. Also, we will show our implementation and discuss about the experimental results.","PeriodicalId":103784,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Forum on Strategic Technology","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127515604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
