Data is coded and analyzed using sentiment analysis.Findings: The study shows that Sino-Poland intercollegiate cooperation is gradually developing, which has apparent strengths, including increased the number of Chinese students, promotion of Sino-Poland university cooperation, and creation of distinctive cooperation models. However, some of the challenges that have emerged include project overly seeking profit-oriented, the declining admission standards, and cultural differences in Sino-Poland tertiary education cooperation and competition from universities in other European countries.Implications: The results of the study give practical suggestions for Sino-Poland intercollegiate cooperation. As Sino-Poland intercollegiate cooperation is still in its infancy, Chinese and Poland universities should innovate their cooperation models in a cross-cultural context, enhance their communication, and publicize their projects extensively to promote mutual benefits. Simultaneously, the cooperation projects should not be profit-driven and lower the admissions standards because the cooperation projects' reputation is also crucial.Originality/value: The study contributes to the theory development on cross-cultural cooperation between Sino-Poland tertiary education, in particular, it offers insights into the challenges that arise in Sino-Poland intercollegiate cooperation projects and how to develop better cooperation models in the future so that Sino-Poland tertiary education cooperation can develop its own unique symbiotic culture and management model.Keywords: Sino-Poland, cross-culture cooperation, tertiary education, intercollegiate cooperationPaper type: Case study","PeriodicalId":103376,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Positive Management","volume":"22 6S 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122812648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: Literature review, viewpoint, case study Findings: An internal audit understood, as a tool for improving processes or more broadly monitored systems and /or products, is not just a matter of procedural dimension and complex documentation, but also an equally important human aspect. This is often marginal or even neglected in practice. Also in the literature on the subject, the issue of interpersonal relations related to the audit process is an area that is relatively rarely taken up. This is evident even more so from the perspective of the auditee and their feelings, which significantly affect the whole process, especially the final result of the audit. Implications for practice: demonstrating the complexity of the internal audit and emphasizing the importance of the human factor in the course of the internal audit process and obtained the final result Originality/value: The article provides a broad and thus quite unusual view of the internal audit process, and gives a comprehensive perspective of management of this process and in particular the opportunity to increase its efficiency and effectiveness. The problem is that we live in a complex world which is characterised by feedback loops, adaptation by both- those delivering and those receiving the intervention. Case study approach which has the explanatory power does not necessary have to serve for one-off, discrete evaluation. The aim of this article is to confront the dilemma of developing generalizable knowledge from case study research and on the basis of the extant literature suggest approaches to enhance its external validity to enable the middle-ranged theories formulation. Methodology: To this end , the literature review has been carried out to identify techniques that can be used to enhance external validity of case study, as well as the review of evaluation reports from the Science and Innovation Policy Evaluations Repository (SIPER) to examine the evaluation practice from the point of view of case study utilisation. Findings: Case study approach is in the position to play an instrumental role in evaluation oriented on learning. Context and human agency matter but they are difficult to capture by other approaches such as (quasi-) experimental designs. Although evaluators often resort to case studies, their full potential is not being exploited. Originality/value: The paper makes a contribution in the debate on how to increase the effectiveness of public policy instruments through greater use of case studies. It departs from traditional thinking about evaluation as a way of arriving at universal laws that apply anywhere, anytime. Instead, the significance of middle-range theories for practice is acknowledged.","PeriodicalId":103376,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Positive Management","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121853236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The introduction of lean can bring about problems that can derive from adapting to such a change, and also from employees being used to established customs, and from a lack of knowledge regarding the change. As a consequence, employee work requirement (EWR) practices may appear which can hamper lean introduction. This paper is an attempt to show how the aforementioned EWR practices can be reduced by the most basic lean method called the 5S`s. Methodology : Based on the author's own research a model has been developed. Modeling of structural equations required an indication of the theoretical model. A 5 point Likert scale questionnaire was developed and used. Findings : The 5S method can indeed decrease EWR practices and its usage is of the highest importance during the initial five years of lean service introduction. Implications/ limitations for practice : The EWR practices support each other which means that managers can spot them all in practice. This is why the most important thing is the appropriate introduction of the 5S method which constitutes the future success of lean service methodology. The research sample consisted of 173 purposefully selected lean-oriented service departments. Originality/value: The 5S - EWR model shows how well the fundamental 5S tool can manage with initial problems which derive from both a business model change and lean requirements. Two types of questionnaires were used to collect data: 1) Rokeach Value Survey (RVS) and 2) Organizational Citizenship Behaviour Checklist.  Findings:  Based on analysis of the research results one can conclude that only several values correlate with OCB. Three types of results has been identified: significantly statistically positive correlation between OCB (OCB_C, OCB_P and OCB_O) and some values, significantly statistically negative correlation between OCB and some values and lack of statistically important correlation between OCB and some values. There is a statistically significant correlation between OCB-C and the following terminal values: comfortable life, family security, freedom, pleasure and true friendship. There is a statistically significant correlation between OCB-C and the following instrumental values: ambition, broad-mindedness, forgiveness, helpfulness, intellect, logic, love, politeness. There is a different direction of the correlations. Implications/limitations : The research paper describe one of many antecedents of OCB (individual characteristics). As OCB have many positive consequences for the organizations, the results can help the managers to prepare for working with generation Z and HRM specialists to recruit people who fit to organizational culture. A future research should involve a representative sample. It would be also very interesting to analyze the results of different generations and different countries. Woźniak","doi":"10.12775/JPM.2019.012","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12775/JPM.2019.012","url":null,"abstract":"Purpose: Risk is a category more often taken into account in the planning processes in organizations. Risk is combined with activities of the organization in the fields of innovation and value management. One of the concepts for the development of the organization in terms of the variable environment is value innovation, which focuses on raising value for stakeholders, among others, by reducing costs and creating new factors carrying value (e.g. by innovation provided to the market). The aim of the article is an indication of how risk factors (both opportunities and threats factors) can determine the implementation and development of the concept of value innovation in the organization. Considerations apply to the example of UniGlass Poland company. Methodology: In the article, there are used the methods of analysis, synthesis and deduction, as well as a critical literature analysis and the so-called typical case study. Findings: Identification and risk analysis is a key step in implementation of the value innovation concept. Implementing risk into this concept gives an ability to continuously monitor the status of the organization and changes in the value chains. The risk factors, and in particular the opportunities factors, also provide the ability to see the potential values for stakeholders, as well as play a role of the starting point for estimating the value of activities related to the creation of these new values. Research limitation: The article presents only selected and most important aspects of implementation of the value innovation concept, and also contains an analysis of only a single case study (UniGlass Poland company) – therefore, specification more general conclusions and identification of universal mechanisms is not very convenient in the article. Originality: The article presents an innovative attempt to integrate two important categories in contemporary management sciences: risk and value innovation.","PeriodicalId":103376,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Positive Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129997485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The company conducts many socially responsible initiatives; however, it cannot realize its CSR programs without engagement of its employees. The company is medium-sized enterprise, that is why every CSR activity and program can be realized by many managers and workers. One of the main reasons of conducting the study is a desire of verification if employees participate in CSR programs before the research was conducted, as also to measure if they are ready to take a part in socially responsible programs in the future. In order to achieve the aim of the research, the following objectives have been set: (1) to present the main assumptions of the corporate social responsibility concept; (2) to describe company’s stakeholders and to show the potential benefits they can achieve thanks to CSR strategy; (3) to measure and analyze employees’ participation in CSR programs conducted in the company and to check their readiness to engage in socially responsible activities in the future. The findings and their presentation are achieved based on the questionnaire survey described in the paper.","PeriodicalId":103376,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Positive Management","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125888186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Increasing the quality of human capital is a challenge not only for companies but also for the regional development. Investing in its quality must be made within the framework of strategies based on thorough diagnosis and real needs. The article refers to the examples of conducted research on Kuyavian-Pomeranian job market and it being used while designing public intervention in the area of investment in human capital. It also shows the findings of research conducted within the years 2008–2014 (altogether 10 thousand employers were interviewed in the whole region) that reveal competence mismatching, which can be a barrier for the development to not only regional economy but also to the development of particular companies.","PeriodicalId":103376,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Positive Management","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117272635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
