Usually, the auxiliary power systems are fed by two power converters placed in opposite ends of the train. These power converters share the demanded power and depending on how over-dimensioned the system is, they offer a certain level of redundancy. The correct functioning of the converters set in parallel may only happen if the right synchronization of the voltage generated by each of them is guaranteed. Otherwise, there would be an inadequate flux of power flowing between them. There is an increasing interest on operating the converters set in parallel without the need of a communication line to transmit the signals to synchronize the converters so as to simplify the system and make it more robust. The Droop Control technique, based on the steady-state regime power flux analysis, enables such goal. This article analyzes the decisive impact of the supply line on the dynamics and the stability of the system based on the Droop Control technique. Furthermore, a simplified model that integrates the control loops of both converters and the line dynamics is proposed. This model accurately analyzes the train auxiliary system power flux behavior both during steady-state and transient regimes. Many reasons have been proven to be behind this environmental disaster like climate changes, pesticides, fungal pathogens and others; especially, since in recent years, wild life has been exposed to microwaves and radio frequencies' radiation signals from various sources, including wireless phones. The claim of the research is that radiations generated by mobile phones' antennas disturb the life cycle of honeybees and affect their reproduction system and honey producing. The research involves testing the behavior of honeybees in the main lobe of the antenna at a distance of 100 meters, and another at a distance of 500 meters; and, in the back lobe of the antenna at a distance of 100 meters, knowing that the antenna is directional. Among the different methods used to design walking controllers, those based on the Zero-Moment Point (ZMP) criterion are among the most popular, even if they induce intrinsic limitations in terms of energy consumption and robustness. In parallel, bio-inspired controllers are emerging. They overcome the ZMP-based limitations, but still miss robust stabilization rules to be validated on real robots. Cloud computing was expected to solve heavy computation problems, so researchers tried to connect it to mobile networks, but always hindered by the expensive nature of mobile access networks from money, power, delay and other viewpoints. In our previous work, we have proposed a mobile cloud architecture that succeeded in merging the two technologies into a homogeneous one by overcoming the expensive nature of access networks. The resulting aggregated load pattern indicates the system response that may be more or less flexible in different periods of time. Many research activities have been dedicated to explore the flexibility of load demand using load patterns and associated uncertainties but little work is found on investigating the effect of sampling time and aggregation level on the shape of the load patterns. Knowing the characteristics of the electrical load patterns is a key aspect to manage load and supply side flexibilities for most economic system operation. This paper addresses the effects of sampling interval as well as aggregation level on the characteristics of the aggregated load patterns. The study is carried out on the basis of comprehensive statistical computations on collected data using load variation profiles, because these profiles embed the information on the load variation trend. In this method, all possible objects from the license plate image are filtered to keep only objects which may belong to a Saudi license plate. Filtering is done by checking each object to see whether it is a possible letter or number (in Arabic or English) that could be part of a Saudi license plate. If there exist both Arabic and English patterns that agree, the license plate is recognized. The method correctly localized and recognized Saudi license plates 83.9% of the times. To keep up with the population growth worldwide, electrical infrastructure are being upgraded and up-rated. To maximize the use to the land and reduce construction cost, joint-use structures between distribution and transmission line are broadly deployed. These joint structures introduce the overhead earth wire (OHEW), pole earth grids and taller poles to the distribution network. This paper endeavours to study the impact that these joint structures have on the lightning performance of the distribution line. Furthermore, the works provide important information on lightning performance and determine when these joint structures worsen or enhancing the lighting performance of the distribution asset. Once the satellite is launched then this resolution cannot be changed during the lifetime of the satellite. The only way to increase the resolution of the images is by using super-resolution techniques. This paper deals with the design and analysis of 2D filters for improving the resolution of interpolated satellite images. The images are reduced first by a certain factor and then interpolated back to the original size. Linear phase 2D filters are designed to optimize the mean squared error (MSE) between the interpolated and the original satellite image. Then the satellite image is enlarged by the same factor and the 2D filter is used to sharpen the image. The performance of the new sub-optimum filters was assessed by using the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and the structure similarity index measure (SSIM) on a variety of satellite images. Moreover, SCADA-specific attacks are becoming more sophisticated, and yet security measures are deployed at a very slow pace. In this work, we present a SCADA-specific Intrusion Detection System (IDS) that detects SCADA attacks based on their network traffic behavior, namely the temporal behavior of frequent patterns of the SCADA protocols. The IDS raises alarms when abnormal behavior is identified.
