The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the provision of nutrients (N and P) and hormone (IAA) on the growth of cocoa plagiotrope cuttings. The experiment was carried out factorial with the basic pattern of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and was repetitively replications by three times. The first factor was the dose of urea (N) and SP-36 (P) which consisted of 3 levels, such as P0 (0 g/polybag urea and 0 g/polybag SP-36), P1 (3,5 g/polybag urea and 2,5 g/polybag SP-36), and P2 (7 g/polybag urea and 5 g/polybag SP-36). The second factor was the concentration of IAA which consisted of 5 levels, such as I0 (0 ppm), I1 (50 ppm), I2 (100 ppm), I3 (150 ppm), and I4 (200 ppm). The results showed (1) the interaction between the application of the nutrients (N and P) and hormone (IAA) had no significant effect on all observed variables except the number of leaves, where the best treatment combination was the application of fertilizer doses of 0 g/polybag urea + 0 g/polybag SP-36 and IAA concentration of 100 ppm (P0I2) (2) application of the nutrients (N and P) with dose of P1 increased seedling growth on all observed variables except the number of leaves, shoot diameter, and shoot length (3) application of IAA with concentration of I1 increased seedlings growth, that is the number of primary roots/cuttings and shoot length.","PeriodicalId":102565,"journal":{"name":"Journal La Lifesci","volume":" 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139143609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Notably, the highest concentration of fatty acids was observed in the leaves of the plant cultivated in the Aqrah district, measuring 9.908 mg/g. The findings of the present study demonstrate that fatty acids exhibit antioxidant properties against the free radical DPPH. Moreover, it was observed that the efficacy of these fatty acids in neutralizing the free radical increases proportionally with the concentration of the active compounds. At a concentration of 500 μg/ml, the fatty acids (Mosul) exhibited the highest level of inhibition, with a rate of 86.4%. This inhibition rate was found to be superior to that of fatty acids (Aqrah) at the same concentration, which showed an inhibition rate of 79.25%. Furthermore, the observed inhibition rate of fatty acids (Mosul) was statistically significant and comparable to the standard sample of ascorbic acid at the same concentration, which exhibited an inhibition rate of 85.6%. Following these results, the concentration of fatty acids (Mosul) is 400 micrograms per milliliter, exhibiting an inhibition rate of 81.2%. In comparison, fatty acids (Aqrah) achieved an inhibition rate of 72.3% at the same concentration. Other concentrations displayed varying degrees of inhibition capacity towards DPPH free radicals. The study provided confirmation of the inhibitory effects of fatty acids on the viability of Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from infected individuals at Tikrit Teaching Hospital.","PeriodicalId":102565,"journal":{"name":"Journal La Lifesci","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139231787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research sample encompassed a group of 9000 agricultural practitioners residing in the Jordan Valley region. Employing the well-established Morgan model, a representative subset of 368 individuals was selected through a random sampling technique. The questionnaires were disseminated among the participants of the study, resulting in the retrieval of a total of 350 questionnaires. Upon careful examination, it was determined that 340 of these questionnaires were deemed valid and suitable for analysis. A meticulously crafted survey instrument was devised to systematically gather firsthand information. The research employed a quantitative (descriptive analytical) methodology to examine the data and evaluate hypotheses by employing suitable statistical techniques available in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).  The findings of the study indicate a noteworthy and statistically significant relationship between climate change and agricultural operations. The analysis yielded a substantial coefficient of determination (R²=68.5%), suggesting that approximately 68.5% of the changes observed in agricultural operations can be attributed to the influence of climate change. The study proposes a strategic approach to enhance farmers' understanding of the indirect impact of climate change on various economic sectors, including manufacturing, energy production, transportation, and other services. This can be achieved through the implementation of educational initiatives, such as seminars and awareness sessions, which actively engage farmers in the learning process.","PeriodicalId":102565,"journal":{"name":"Journal La Lifesci","volume":"122 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139231653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research of both a quantitative and qualitative nature was conducted as part of the approach in order to offer a thorough knowledge of the influence that improved technology have had on the practices of precision agriculture. The quantitative findings of the research indicate that the use of modern technological practices leads to a large increase in both productiveness and profitability. The qualitative findings emphasize the positive effects on the environment that would follow from a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilizers, as well as an increase in the sustainability of agricultural operations. Nevertheless, the research also reveals several challenges to adoption, such as the expense involved and a resistance to changing behaviors that have been done traditionally. Getting rid of these obstacles is going to be essential if we want to realize the full potential of precision agricultural methods. In general, this thesis provides important insights into the potential of advanced technologies in fertilizer, pesticide, and water management to promote sustainable and efficient agricultural practices. Additionally, it identifies key areas for future research in this field, which is extremely helpful.","PeriodicalId":102565,"journal":{"name":"Journal La Lifesci","volume":"8 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139256192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, snails shell was collected from local rivers in Al Diwaniya city, middle of Iraq; 500 grams of the shell powder of the garden snail was smashed and grinded and analysed during this study. The shell powder was extracted by ethanol, and 250mg of the yield was injected in GC-Mass spectrometry and analyzed. The detection of chemical compounds in the garden snail shell was identified by comparison with the mass spectra library of the GC-Mass data system. Results exhibited that six chemical compounds were largely predominant among other elements of the shell powder, including hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester, (E)-9-Octadecenoic acid ethyl ester, pentadecanoic acid, heptadecanoic acid, ethyl ester, and 9-Octadecenamide, (Z)-. Also, the analysis profiled more than 23 chemical compounds that constituted the structure of the garden snail shell with a low percentage area. These substances were classified into fatty acids, saturated fatty acids, organic compounds, natural products, and methyl and ethyl esters. Consequently, these natural materials are essential active compounds that could be used for more medical and research applications studies. However, the yield of chemical compounds was a low amount. To sum up, GC-Mass spectrometry has displayed a high biological diversity of chemical compounds substances in the shell of garden snails, which can help researchers to investigate more for different natural chemical resources in the shell of a garden snail.","PeriodicalId":102565,"journal":{"name":"Journal La Lifesci","volume":"1 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135390893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technology based production system is important for sustainable agricultural development. It could be the tool for low-income countries like Nepal where agriculture is the priority of income generation for the rural people. A field study was conducted in 2021 and 2022 to understand the prospects of protected agriculture structures adaptation by farmers and agricultural entrepreneur in Nepal. The study was traversed with both physical observation and the user’s interviews. The opportunities and the constraints have been critically analysed based on these field study along with the review of different policy documents and success stories published. This study found that the protected cultivation practice has been rapidly increased with increasing number of protected structures like plastic house or tunnel framed with bamboo or GI pipe, Agri-net house, naturally ventilated poly house and semi or hi-tech green house. In contrary, the import of horticulture products has also been increased more than 200% in last 10 years. This study finds the gap mismatching between technology enhancement, production and import of horticulture crops.","PeriodicalId":102565,"journal":{"name":"Journal La Lifesci","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131044342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
