Decision Support Systems can be enhanced by these features and thus support better decision-making within organizations. However, there is not a clear understanding of ongoing works that investigate the interplay and commonalities of these two topics. In this context, this work reports the results of a systematic mapping study carried out to provide an overview of ongoing studies on the software architecture of the decision support system to support visual analytics features. Study findings clearly showed that even though visual analytics features might be incorporated on software architectures, there is still a need for further research clarifying means of modelling and representing these features on architectural styles.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126155259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although live streams for entertainment are the most popular kind, there are also knowledge sharing live streams (KSLS). Embrapa, a Brazilian public agricultural research company, uses this kind of tool to disseminate its research results to the public, which is distributed in an extensive geographic territory. The objective of this work is to make a diagnosis through an online questionnaire with the public of an Embrapa broadcast, identifying their profile and preferences, as well as possibilities for improvements in KSLS. This study's research questions are: Has the live stream proved to be an efficient tool for sharing knowledge? What are the user's preferences? Is it possible to improve their experience? Our results indicate that live streams have great potential for sharing knowledge. In accordance with current studies, we have recognized that great effort is needed to engage the public and there are opportunities to design and develop resources to improve the broadcast environment. In particular, users who participated in our study were interested in annotations and screen recording tools, surveys to influence the offered content, and interactions through multiple-choice questions. We also present some lessons learned regarding preferences, habits, and characteristics of the users.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123655676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these technologies have some limitations related to the difficulty of dealing with some specific grammatical aspects of sign languages, which can negatively influence the experience of deaf users. In order to analyze this problem, in this study, we assess the translation of Brazilian Portuguese (Pt-br) content into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) by three machine translators: HandTalk, Rybená and VLibras. More specifically, we conducted an experiment with 30 Brazilian human interpreters that evaluate the treatment of 7 specific grammatical aspects in the applications. As a result, we observed significant important limitation in the treatment of homonyms, adverbs (negation, mode and intensity), directional verbs, and phrases (interrogative and exclamatory) in the translations performed by these applications, indicating the need for them to improve the treatment of these grammatical aspects.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134548906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the literature has addressed the subject, little has been done in the way of exploring how to visualize learning trajectories. In this paper, we present three forms of interactive learning trajectories visualizations linked to the context of computational thinking. As the interactions on visualizations involved different aspects, our proposal comprises three layers: the data representation, the reactions to the navigation and data exploration where more details of the data can be seen. Due to visualizations being tightly related to the context from which the data comes, we analyzed the data types available in Code.org, a well-known platform commonly used to teach computational thinking. To assess the three visualizations, we carried out usability and user experience evaluation with 23 Brazilian elementary schools teachers. The results revealed that the three visualizations achieved an average of 72% of overall understanding by the audience. Besides, our findings showed the visualizations were well accepted among the participants. We also found out that the user experience reported by the participants is in some way associated with the level of understanding of the visualizations.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130880634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper reports a study that evaluates educational applications developed for children with ASD, focusing on their first experience of use and accessibility aspects related to ASD. The study was conducted in Jaguaruana city and the participants were ten autistic children and their mothers. The first experience of use was monitored and evaluated by observation and questionnaires. Additionally, an accessibility inspection was conducted by three evaluators to identify interface accessibility problems. The results indicate positive aspects concerning the ease of learning to use the applications. On the other hand, our research revealed negative results related to the children's mood changes. We noticed that a child with a higher level of ASD faced more difficulties to maintain attention during the use of applications. In addition, these children demonstrate irritation when failing to perform the challenges. Some improvements can be made in the evaluated applications for a better user experience. Thus, this research contributes to the use of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) evaluation methods with users and specialists to evaluate educational applications for autistic users.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131024443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the development process of ICTs for VIP, the concepts of Accessibility, Usability, and User eXperience (UX) are significant because they can positively influence the system's quality. Concerning these concepts, some improvements can be considered already at the design stage, such as screen size, button format, color density, among others. However, not all designers consider Accessibility, Usability, and UX concepts when designing ICT for VIP. To identify and characterize which design technologies of Accessibility, Usability, and UX have been proposed in the literature, we performed a Systematic Mapping Study (SMS). We identified a total of 23 technologies. The analysis from these technologies showed that the majority are destined for mobile applications. Besides, some design technologies only address the concept of Accessibility, and only one technology considered the concepts of Accessibility, Usability, and UX together. To support professionals, students, and researchers in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Software Engineering (SE), this SMS presents a set of Accessibility, Usability, and UX design technologies, which can be used in the initial phases of the ICT development process for VIP.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130692574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They have specific characteristics, such as transparency, attention, calmness, mobility, and context-awareness. Given that the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) evaluation methods have been proposed for traditional systems, these characteristics present challenges that may require their adaptation. In this paper, we conducted an exploratory study aimed to compare the suitability of Heuristic Evaluation and the MALTU Model to evaluate the Usability and User eXperience (UX) of ubiquitous systems. For this, we apply both methods for evaluating a healthcare system and perform a comparative analysis. From our findings, MALTU is indicated for UX evaluation, being a low-cost approach when compared to Heuristic Evaluation, which is indicated for usability evaluation. Both methods were able to identify the problems that emerge from ubiquity and can provide better results when applied in aggregate. Furthermore, we provide recommendations to apply both methods for the Usability and UX evaluation of ubiquitous systems.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116887055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, not all ATs are presented with quality for their users, resulting in abandonment, frustration or incorrect use. To obtain an AT with higher quality, this work presents an AT evaluation technology for Deaf Community, which covers the perspectives of Usability, User eXperience (UX) and Accessibility for mobile devices, entitled Usability, User eXperience, and Accessibility Checklist for Deaf Assistive Technology (UUXAC-DAT). UUXAC-DAT aims to support professionals of Information Technology (IT) during the assessment of ATs in software development projects. To assess UUXAC-DAT, a case study was carried out, with nine IT professionals. Perceptions of professionals about the ease of use, perceived usefulness and intent for future use of UUXAC-DAT were obtained. All professionals were interviewed and the results were analyzed qualitatively. This paper also presents some improvements in UUXAC-DAT, regarding its structure, description of verification items and presentation.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128426084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their usage in entertaining events, as sports and cultural ones are easily observable. Considering those new interaction possibilities, we discuss in this work elements of crowd engagement through the use of a mobile game developed in the context of entertainment events, either with the crowd in the same place or in different locations. This game is called Bumbometer and it uses movement sensors during an interactive dynamic with the crowd using concepts from Mobile Crowd Sensing and User eXperience. Bumbometer was evaluated in two experimental studies: the first one was in a real setting of a cultural event; the second one was carried out in a controlled environment simulating a large-scale event in a social isolation scenario. Results indicate that people feel immerse and engaged during interaction through the game and they consider the game an immersive creative way for interacting in entertainment events.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128634979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the use of digital games, making these therapies more assertive, the disorder's effects are minimized over time. Considering the game's potential in this context, this work raised heuristics that can assist in the development and evaluation of these games. These heuristics tend to make the creation more assertive in the development stages, creating a better user experience. Besides, Aiello and TEO-Autism games were evaluated for tests of interaction and observation with autistic users. The results point to a good acceptance of the games evaluated and reinforce the heuristics previously raised.","PeriodicalId":102113,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 19th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127302497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
