Modern tourist systems are being reshaped by the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution, which considers technological, economic, and social factors. It's changing the way visitors use and manage their interests from conventional to more tailored platforms. The coronavirus 2, which is causing the current worldwide pandemic, is the worst global public health catastrophe since the influenza pandemic of 1918. This witnessed one of the major troubles in the tourism industry, which made it difficult to operate effectively, as restrictions that were put in place to contain the spread of the virus. The role of Public relations (PR) post Covid-19 pandemic has risen and giving the industry more responsibility in ensuring that her brands and clients stay seen and relevant as the stigma surrounding the virus has made people afraid and unwilling to go back to other fun of life like touring and sightseeing. Hence, most industries continue to utilize various ways that could keep them connected to the customers and technology became one of the vital organs of these developments. The Internet of things continues to advance in terms of its implementations across the tourism industry’s PR. This paper will talk about the advancing roles of the IoT in Europe's tourism industry PR. European nations remain the largest when it comes to technological adoptions. The participatory approach was carried out by conducting the FGDs (Focus Group Discussions) sequence to involve citizens in formulating place branding. The citizens made and identified designs and icons, provided design directions, and gave the feel of a story to the resulting design. In previous research, place branding mainly was carried out in cities or places with dominant government hierarchies. In contrast, this research was conducted in villages and areas with a solid community base because the selected tourism villages were community-based tourism (CBT) villages. In addition, this research also observes how place branding can be done by trying to understand personality association through a participatory process and came from the citizens themselves. This research will contribute to the necessary instrument schemes for forming place branding in the village and community-based contexts. Several findings were noted in this research related to the challenges of MSMEs and destinations in carrying out branding, profit allocation issues, the difference of value or selling unique in formulating branding, the benefits of branding and technology, and challenges in supporting technology application. Based on the findings, this research showed several instrument applications in place branding, including three pillars, i.e., place physics, place practice, and place personality.","PeriodicalId":102019,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Spektrum Komunikasi","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127579842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan jurnalisme advokasi pada Project Multatuli dalam isu Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) Nusantara. Banyak pihak yang masih tidak setuju dengan pemindahan ibukota ini. Terkait ini, media sudah banyak yang meliput isu IKN. Namun, kebanyakan media tidak banyak meliput mengenai dampak yang dirasakan langsung oleh warga setempat dengan adanya pemindahan IKN ini ke wilayah mereka. Padahal, penolakan justru banyak pula dilontarkan oleh warga Penajam Paser Utara. Namun tak ayal pemberitaan mainstream tanah air justru didominasi oleh perspektif elit dan tidak memerhatikan perspektif warga yang tidak mampu bersuara. Sehingga, disinilah peran dari jurnalisme advokasi. Jurnalisme advokasi adalah salah satu genre dalam jurnalisme yang berfokus pada suara-suara kelompok marjinal yang jarang terekspos oleh media. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif melalui satu judul artikel Project Multatuli, diperoleh hasil bahwa jurnalisme advokasi pada media alternatif ini sudah diterapkan dengan baik. Kelima unsur jurnalisme diterapkan pada artikel liputan yang ada. Peneliti hanya menemukan satu unsur yang luput dalam jurnalisme advokasi ini, yakni terkait asas legalitas. Namun, tegasnya, Project Multatuli telah melakukan bentuk jurnalisme advokasinya yang sesuai dengan semangatnya untuk mengangkat suara-suara terpinggirkan dan masyarakat kecil.","PeriodicalId":102019,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Spektrum Komunikasi","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129284193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They grew up and live with sophisticated digital technology. They are used to operating modern technology in daily activities. They are used to using technology to communicate with others, in the real world and the virtual world. This technology is called a smartphone which provides various conveniences with information services and unlimited benefits. This causes the alpha generation to enjoy the virtual world and ignore their activities in the real world. The lack of censorship on content uploaded in cyberspace makes the mindset and behavior of the alpha generation, who are still unstable, forced to mature and mature before their age. So that the digitization of this media can trigger a premature alpha generation. Various anticipations have been created by technology, for example applications that can filter content that is not suitable for children such as adult content, violence, issues of intolerance, and others. However, this protection is not enough. The role of parents is very important to overcoming this problem. Children spend more of their free time at home. Full support and concern from the government, society, academia and the media will complement various efforts to make the alpha generation free from digital fantasy addiction.","PeriodicalId":102019,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Spektrum Komunikasi","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130027608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Covid-19 outbreak has changed the way we communicate, especially the use of communication media. A very real change can be seen by keeping a distance when carrying out communications and activities. Everyone is forced by circumstances to be able to use communication media, namely gadgets as a communication tool. The words of millennial farmers started to be heard at the start of the pandemic, where these members of the millennial farmers were different from previous farmers, namely farmers who were media literate and able to adapt quickly to circumstances. Many social media applications are used to communicate during the pandemic, and these millennial farmers choose applications that easily facilitate their communication. Research informants consisted of extension workers and millennial farmers from four districts and one city, namely Kulonprogo, Bantul, Gunung Kidul, Sleman, and Yogyakarta City. The results of the study indicate that there has been a change in communication patterns carried out by extension agents with millennial farmers after the pandemic, due to the use of technology. After the Covid-19 pandemic, information was digitized for farmer groups, they used information technology to communicate.
