To deal with this uncertainty, Dempster-Shafer (DS) Theory is often utilized for the fusion of evidence obtained from various DGA diagnosis [1,2]. In the Dempster-Shafer theoretic approach, several rules for combining the evidence were proposed [3,4,5], amongst them is unified combination rule by Inagaki [5]. Unified combination rule unifies various types of combination rule from Yager's combination rule to extrapolation combination rule through the introduction of functions. The combination of belief structures derived from power transformer's DGA evidence is implemented through Inagaki's unified combination rule. Expected monetary value [6] was utilized for determining the most optimum combination rule of the unified combination rules. Furthermore, we proposed maximax and maximin criterion for selecting the best decision policy for the mapping of belief structures from transformer's condition spaces to system operator's decision making spaces.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131239921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Military applications require electronics that withstand low temperature and impact. This paper presents the low temperature evaluation of the commercial DC/DC converters, identification of the problem with them, suggestion of a method to overcome it, and the low temperature evaluation of the suggested DC/DC converter. From the experiment, the commercial DC/DC converters are sensitive to the operating temperature, especially 20 T: below zero. Based on this finding, a circuit is suggested, which replaces electrolyte capacitors to solid capacitors. It is observed that the DC/DC converter with solid capacitors works well at the temperature of 40 T: below zero. It is concluded that the DC/DC convert with solid capacitor can be used for military applications such as low temperature operation.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132914177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The IPTV services are required to meet rapid channel switching as well as conventional analog TV services, but these services encounter issues to achieve rapid channel switching. One of significant problems is overloaded bandwidth consumption due to repeated channel switching behavior by users' channel request. This problem is caused by multicast leave processing, i.e., edge routers (ER) cannot stop transmission immediately due to the leave processing, so that ERs are required to stop unnecessary distributions. The feature of our proposed method is a reduction of bandwidth usage for transmitting IP multicast packets on the access link between ER and home access gateways (HG). We show effectiveness of the proposed method and efficiency of simple algorithm from the perspective of practical level through simulation evaluations.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133051915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The good positioning skill of the radiological technologist is essential for obtaining accurate diagnostic information of an examined organ and for reducing X-ray exposure in radiography. In this study, we developed a computed tomography (CT) image-based training system which could assist the students to train the positioning practice. By using a personal computer (PC) the positioning could be simulated. First, from the CT image data of the phantom scanned beforehand, we constructed the three-dimensional (3D) phantom based on a solid model and we performed the positioning of the 3D phantom on the PC. Next, we calculated the plane image from the CT image data corresponding to the positioned phantom and displayed the calculated plane image. By using our proposed training system, it was expected that students could perform the positioning training at the same time without having to expose X-rays and develop the films.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133381986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The popularity of these services can cause problems such as the shortage of the Internet backbone capacity, so it is important to detect increasing traffic caused by these services early. Conventional detection method called aggregation method tries to detect increasing traffic by predicting its future traffic volume with linear approximation. However, the aggregation method may not cope with increasing traffic whose growth is more rapid than linear growth. In this paper, we propose an early detection method (partial aggregation method) of increasing traffic under per-subnet based distributed traffic measurement. The method predicts 1) future traffic volume for each address in each subnet and 2) the number of subnets having increasing traffic in the future with a linear approximation. Then, the method estimates future traffic volume for each address as a product of the predicted future traffic volume in each subnet and the predicted subnet number. As a result, the method is expected to cope with rapid growth in traffic volume. Simulation results show that the partial aggregation method can detect increasing traffic earlier than the aggregation method by a maximum of 90 days.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"172 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132686314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many such applications, LIBS measurements are conducted in high vacuum and the propagation of the plume produced during laser ablation plays a significant role. Therefore a proper understanding of the plasma parameters under high vacuum is significant for any improvement in the LIBS system. In this study, hydrodynamic equations are used to model plasma dynamics. A model is used to understand laser assisted ablation and plume dynamics under high vacuum condition. Further, experimental studies are performed to analyze the lunar simulant soil. Experimentally observed lunar simulant plasma temperature was comparable with the theoretically estimated Si plasma temperature. This shows that plasma characteristic of lunar soil is mainly influenced by silicon which is the major constituent element present. The emission life time of silicon and lunar simulant are measured under different ambient pressure conditions. The measured life time is very short in vacuum as compared to that of at an atmospheric pressure. This is due to the high velocity and fast expansion of the plume under high vacuum (5×10−9 bar) condition.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115627474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most of the addressed algorithms actually tune the variable-step size according to two variables: the photovoltaic (PV) array voltage (VPV) and the PV array current (IPV). Therefore both PV array current and voltage have to be measured. Recently, maximum power point trackers that based on single variable (IPV or VPV) have a great attention due to their simplicity and ease in implementation, when compared to the other tracking techniques. In this paper, a single current sensor based variable step size maximum power point tracker has been proposed. This method uses only the relationship between the PV array measured current and the converter duty cycle (D) to automatically adapt the step change in the duty cycle to reach the maximum power point of the PV array. Detailed analysis and flowchart of the proposed algorithm are included. Moreover, PSIM simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the performance of the suggested algorithm.","PeriodicalId":101683,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114729489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The developed dry EEG electrodes can measure the EEG signals without any gels applied and no skin preparation. However, how to find a proper skin-electrode contact area is an important issue. The contact area is directly related to the electrodes impedance and fabrication cost. Therefore, the NSGA-II is used to searching the suitable contact area and other design parameters. NSGA-II is a wieldy used optimization method, especially for the multi-objectives issues like this case. Finally, we compare the results of the simulation and experiments for ensuring the optimal process.
