To assess the design technology, LSPMSM prototype was built amended from a PEIM with the same frame, stator punching and rated output. Based on the prototype test, two novel improvement designs and analyses have been done to eliminate the noise and vibration. Additionally, the comparisons with PEIM on power factor, efficiency, frame size and active material consumption indicated the significant performance improvement and active material cost down can be achieved by LSPMSM.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130089996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Direct torque control has some benefits such as faster torque response and reduced torque ripple for driving the brushless DC motors. Because of ignoring stator flux linkage of direct torque control in constant torque region, driving of brushless DC motors is not complicated. In order to solve the problems associated with conventional PI speed controller, a new speed control based on adaptive-neuro fuzzy inference system is proposed to eliminate overshoot in the torque and speed responses, simplify designing and reduce complexity of math formulas. To reduce rising time, PD controller is used with adaptive-neuro-based Fuzzy Inference System. The effectiveness of proposed system has been validated by simulation results.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125211738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to find a machine giving the better electromagnetic performance (torque, losses, back electromotive force…) for railway traction. Three PMSM with concentrated windings having identical output power, stator and rotor outer diameter, air-gap, axial length,…, are designed. Two machines have equal tooth widths, with one having a coil wound on every tooth and the other having a coil wound on alternate teeth, while the third machine has also coils wound on alternate teeth but these are wider than the unwound teeth. A comparison of the performances for single layer and double layer concentrated windings is made using finite element analysis.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116967129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a model can give not only the correct load losses in windings, but also the satisfied stray losses with measured in the transformer tank. Influences of magnetic shunts on tank losses are discussed. Simulation indicates that the magnetic fields on tank wall are decreased by the covered magnetic shunts, but magnetic fields on tank wall nearest to the abrupt angles or edges of magnetic shunt plates are increased and are stronger than the other parts. Filleting the shunt plates angles or edges may decrease the fields on tank wall.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117163901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, due to the elimination of proportional-integral regulator, direct virtual torque control was presented and proved to be an effective method for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) grid synchronization. This paper proposes a novel DFIG grid synchronization strategy combining the merits of PDTC and virtual torque concept.
