It includes low speed opening wind tunnel, and data acquisition systems. The wind tunnel with 3.5m caliber is designed into direct-action wind tunnel, and its experiment sement is circular section. Multi-fans are adopted to provide wind energy in the power segment, which improves wind flow effective and reliability after wind flow pass through a celluar device. The data acquisition systems collect and deal with wind speed, wind turbine rotation rate, output voltage and current by data board. The test results for the small wind turbine prove the platform can meet testing requests of small wind turbine characteristics tests, which helps students to understand new energy using and enlarge knowledge.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122270362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In three level NPC IGCT converter, because of the complex commutation transient process, the IGCT works in different conditions such as anti-parallel diode forward recovery, reverse recovery, current commutated from anti-parallel diode to GCT and so on, the Gate-Unit must judge the conditions and do the correct responses such as status feedback, decrease the back-porch current and inner retrigger. In this paper, the characteristics of the GCT works in three-level NPC converters are detailed analyzed. Due to its high power density, high reliability and easy cooling in magnets, this motor is a good candidate for electric vehicle (EV) applications. This paper proposes a new remedial control strategy for fault-tolerant operation of the R-FSPM motor drive, in which the copper loss is minimized. When the amplitudes of the remaining phases of the faulty motors are the same value, the reduced torque during fault can be remedied with minimum copper loss. The proposed remedial operation is compared with the existing one by analyzing the torque ripple and the copper loss. Finite-element analysis (FEA) is resulted, confirming that the proposed remedial operation can offer the acceptable torque performance and minimize the copper loss during the loss of one coil.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116630577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most importantly, the novel structure solves the problems of low power factor and complex process which exist in conventional transverse-flux permanent-magnet machines (TFPMs). In this paper, a staggered structure is applied for the adjacent stator teeth of a transverse-flux machine. This kind of structure has two topologies: three phases in the axial direction and three phases in the circumference direction. To minimize flux leakage, stator and permanent magnet dimensions are optimized by three-dimensional finite-element method (3-D FEM). As the key technology of TFPMLM, the method to increase power factor and force density has been investigated. And low thrust fluctuation, high power factor and force density are achieved by further optimization. The simulation results prove that the machine has both higher power factor and high efficiency.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122512745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First of all, the method of analysis applying 2D axis-symmetric model which is equivalent to 3D model is proposed. Various characteristics of solenoid can be examined in limited time because the time of analysis is reduced. The method of applying minor loop considering hysteresis phenomenon is also suggested. The method of analysis is similar to actual phenomenon than the method applying initial magnetization curve. The minor loop can be experimentally obtained by measuring and interpolating many points of each material. Finally, validity of method is verified by the decrease in error compared to measured result.","PeriodicalId":101507,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131370101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
