The busy schedule of consumers does not allow them to prepare a meal at home or wait long hours in a restaurant or a food joint. Instead, consumers have switched to a more reliable and quick way to deliver food to the doorstep: online food delivery, particularly in Africa. Therefore, this study was undertaken to conduct a systematic review of previous and present studies on online food delivery to unearth crucial patterns pertinent to understanding food delivery in Africa, given that there have been limited but nascent studies on food delivery. From the results, 22 articles were selected from three African countries (South Africa, Ghana, and Tanzania). The 22 articles reviewed were published from 2014 to 2022. The review highlighted three themes: the emergence of food delivery in Africa, food delivery applications, and the factors influencing consumer decisions to use food delivery platforms. Under the factors influencing consumer decision to use food delivery platforms, nine factors were identified and discussed. These factors include social status, time-saving orientation, privacy and security, safety and hygiene, convenience motivation, perceived ease of use, prior online purchase, price-saving orientation, and reviews uploaded to online food delivery apps. It is recommended that customers should check reviews and ratings on food delivery apps for safe food. Restaurants should provide proper training for their delivery staff and address delivery delays to improve customer satisfaction. Food regulatory bodies should also establish and enforce policies to enhance food safety and quality in restaurants.

","PeriodicalId":101202,"journal":{"name":"Sustainable Technology and Entrepreneurship","volume":"3 2","pages":"Article 100062"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2773032823000251/pdfft?md5=37a2e93823dbbf0c2495ef4bf5aa04f9&pid=1-s2.0-S2773032823000251-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135714420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article explores how universities are crucial in fostering SI through collaborative partnerships with communities. The main objective is to elucidate the primary characteristics of such partnerships that promote sustainable entrepreneurship. Universities, while communities, provide invaluable insights into localized challenges. The methodology combines abductive reasoning and case studies, evolving as theoretical frameworks, empirical fieldwork, and case analysis. Four carefully selected case studies meet specific criteria related to academia-community relationships, knowledge generation, SI narratives, socioeconomic and environmental contexts, accessibility, and participation. The study employs abductive and dialogical reasoning, combining induction and deduction to generate innovative ideas. Co-design interviews with researchers enhance the co-production process, providing a deeper understanding of SI initiatives. These interviews occurred from March 2021 to January 2023. This article highlights universities as essential agents of positive transformation, offering opportunities for students, faculty, and communities to engage in impactful endeavors. It also identifies seven key characteristics that promote SI entrepreneurship between universities and communities.

","PeriodicalId":101202,"journal":{"name":"Sustainable Technology and Entrepreneurship","volume":"3 2","pages":"Article 100061"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S277303282300024X/pdfft?md5=8c68167d736ec80ae54c62f69773cbba&pid=1-s2.0-S277303282300024X-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135664971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is a paucity of literature on the impact of the capacity underutilization of dairy processing plants (DPPs) on employment multipliers. This study employed secondary data sourced from the Tanzania Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries’ budget reports for the fiscal year 2022/23. Using the Leontief Input‒Output simulation model, the study establishes the effects of low utilization of milk processing plants on employment generation. The study establishes employment gaps created by capacity underutilization of DPPs along the milk value chain. The fact that the available DPPs operate at just 23.4 % of their total capacity constrains employment opportunities across the entire value chain. Approximately 500,000 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) minimum wage jobs (i.e., direct, indirect, and induced) are lost annually, highlighting the need for measures to address the challenge of undercapacity utilization of DPPs. Furthermore, the study found significant backwards and forward linkages in the upstream and downstream parts of the dairy value chain. This indicates strong connections and the potential for job creation within the value chain. Thus, ensuring a consistent milk supply in dairy processing plants is crucial to mitigate undercapacity issues in DPPs and to sustain job growth in the milk value chain. Additionally, the study strongly recommends policy measures to boost DPPs’ capacity utilization, foster economic growth, develop the dairy industry, and enhance the overall national economy.

","PeriodicalId":101202,"journal":{"name":"Sustainable Technology and Entrepreneurship","volume":"3 2","pages":"Article 100059"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2773032823000226/pdfft?md5=8edeebdb942686231495f646c02dda5f&pid=1-s2.0-S2773032823000226-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91964098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A descriptive survey approach was employed. The research comprised 120 randomly selected peasant yam farmers. Means, t-test, standard deviation, and ANOVA analysis were used to evaluate the data. The level of indigenous knowledge management process in terms of conversion, distribution, acquisition, application, and protection was moderate amongst the peasant yam farmers. Again, the level of indigenous knowledge management infrastructure in terms of culture, structure and technology was moderate amongst the peasant yam farmers. The study did not find a significant difference in the operationalization of indigenous knowledge management between male and female participants. Nevertheless, the study revealed a significant difference in the levels of operationalization of indigenous knowledge management among the different extension operational zones. Practically, the study emphasizes the significance of using, documenting, and reusing indigenous knowledge management strategies, thus, experienced (tacit), discovered (implicit), and known (explicit) knowledge which enriches the knowledge management literature. These strategies are highly beneficial in fulfilling the information requirements of farmers, particularly in times of a pandemic like COVID-19. It is recommended that training and capacity-building programs be provided to peasant yam farmers on effective knowledge management techniques. Older farmers need to be encouraged to mentor and pass down their indigenous knowledge to younger generations to ensure the continuity of valuable traditional practices.

","PeriodicalId":101202,"journal":{"name":"Sustainable Technology and Entrepreneurship","volume":"3 2","pages":"Article 100058"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2773032823000214/pdfft?md5=4be550d95f394aad96fa3693d567c71c&pid=1-s2.0-S2773032823000214-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91964099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research examines whether employees' idea sharing depends on leadership behavior and how organizational identification and culture explain the variations in creative ideas sharing among employees. Building on social learning theory, this research postulates a positive relationship between responsible leadership and creative idea sharing directly and indirectly by the development of organizational identification; additionally, a conditional indirect effect was also proposed for this research data was collected from the nurses, medical support staffs, heads of departments, and administrative personnel from primary and secondary health care units in South-Punjab. Data from 387 subordinates and their respective 67 supervisors was collected and analyzed with partial least squares (PLS) for moderated mediation, direct effects, indirect effects, conditional indirect effects, and CFA. The results indicated that responsible leadership is positively and significantly related to employees' creative idea-sharing directly and indirectly through the mediation of organizational identification. Organizational culture positively moderated the relationship between responsible leadership and creative idea sharing and between responsible leadership and organizational identification. Responsible leadership was positively related to organizational identification and creative idea sharing only when the organization has a highly supportive culture and negative otherwise. The government was committed to achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. Due to repeated wars and conflicts, the country relies heavily on foreign aid to support its development goals and fill budget gaps. The Human Development Index (HDI) serves as a widely utilized measure of individual well-being, and foreign aid is one of the most effective tools for the development of impoverished nations. In this study, we analyzed the impact of foreign aid on Afghanistan's Human Development Index and its three core components from 1990 to 2019.

We achieved our objective through the implementation of the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Our study uncovered a reciprocal association between ODA and HDI, including its three aspects. Through our observations, we have discovered that foreign aid plays a crucial role in enhancing human development in the long term. Specifically, for every one percent increase in ODA, we have observed a 0.0007 percent improvement in HDI. In addition, our findings have revealed that human development serves as a driving force in attracting foreign aid.
