In this paper, we describe the clinical course of a case of GGMC who developed thyrotoxic crisis, preeclampsia severe, termination of pregnancy and maternal need for intensive care. Fetal autopsy showed a female fetus with no apparent defects; with placental changes favoring chromosomal disorders. The evaluation of ovular remains showed villi with trophoblastic hyperplasia and vesicles, suggestive of complete mole. For women with underlying medical disorders, pregnancy planning assumes even greater importance, because ensuring a healthy woman and healthy child becomes more challenging. Although numerous studies have addressed the safety and effectiveness of hormonal contraceptive use in healthy women, data are far less complete for women with underlying medical problems or other special circumstances. Using the best available scientific evidence and based on the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Practice Bulletin, this review provides information to help clinicians and women with coexisting medical conditions to make decisions regarding the selection and appropriateness of various hormonal contraceptives. All these options have broadened and strengthened the possibilities of surgical indications, minimizing risk and reducing sharply the contraindications. The introduction of the miniresectoscope of Gubbini of 16 fr. thanks to its reduced diameter, enabled the implementation of outpatient procedures with the technique of “slicing”, increasing and facilitating the possibilities of “see and treat” outpatient.
