A virtual sample generation solution based on Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) is proposed to overcome this shortcoming. Aiming at augmenting the sample classes with the imbalanced data problem, the GAN-based virtual sample generation strategy is embedded into the establishment of fault prediction models. Under the PHM framework of the on-board train control system, the virtual sample generation principle and the detailed procedures are presented. With the enhanced class-balancing mechanism and the designed sample augmentation logic, the PHM scheme of the on-board train control equipment has powerful data condition adaptability and can effectively predict the fault probability and life cycle status. Practical data from a specific type of on-board train control system is employed for the validation of the presented solution. The comparative results indicate that GAN-based sample augmentation is capable of achieving a desirable sample balancing level and enhancing the performance of correspondingly derived fault prediction models for the Condition-based Maintenance (CBM) operations.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100607,"journal":{"name":"High-speed Railway","volume":"1 3","pages":"Pages 153-161"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2949867823000338/pdfft?md5=6eeea0547e12285cda1b991909520ac0&pid=1-s2.0-S2949867823000338-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85306302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to assist dispatchers in rescheduling trains, this paper introduces an innovative Human-Computer Interaction framework. This framework enables train dispatchers to propose different timetable adjustment instructions to the original or adjusted timetable. These instructions will be processed, stored, analyzed, and digested by computer program, which finally lead to the modification and calculation of the embedded mathematical model, then a new adjusted timetable will be produced and provided to dispatchers for checking and modifying. This framework can iterate for unlimited times based on dispatchers’ intentions, until the final results satisfy them. A demonstration system named RTARS (Real-time Timetable Automatic Rescheduling System) is developed based on this framework and it has been applied in Beijing Railway Administration, which shows its effectiveness in reality.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100607,"journal":{"name":"High-speed Railway","volume":"1 2","pages":"Pages 130-140"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49701235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared with the traditional Discrete Ballasted Track (DBT), FPSBT does not require regular maintenance such as tamping and cleaning. However, limited studies exist on the mechanical properties of FPSBT. In this study, Laboratory experiments are conducted on polyurethane samples to investigate the effects of polyurethane density on the mechanical properties of FPSBT. Furthermore, the performance of DBT and FPSBT with different polyurethane densities are compared, and the recommended polyurethane density is obtained. FPSBT exhibited negligible accumulation of deformation under cyclic loads, indicating excellent performance of FPSBT owing to the anti-deformation properties of polyurethane. Further, a track load vehicle test is conducted. FPSBT exhibited better load-transmitting ability than DBT. Finally, the construction and application of FPSBT in China are introduced. The widespread adoption of High-speed Rail (HSR) in China exemplifies this trend, while more promising use cases, such as vehicle-to-everything, continue to emerge. However, the Internet access provided in high mobility environments still struggles to achieve seamless connectivity. The next generation of wireless cellular technology 5 G further poses more requirements on the end-to-end evolution to fully utilize its ultra-high band-width, while existing network diagnostic tools focus on above-IP layers or below-IP layers only. We then propose HiMoDiag, which enables flexible online analysis of the network performance in a cross-layer manner, i.e., from the top (application layer) to the bottom (physical layer). We believe HiMoDiag could greatly simplify the process of pinpointing the deficiencies of the Internet access delivery on HSR, lead to more timely optimization and ultimately help to improve the network performance.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100607,"journal":{"name":"High-speed Railway","volume":"1 2","pages":"Pages 141-146"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49701274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking a suspension bridge with laying CWR as a case, the mechanical properties of CWR on the bridge are analyzed to reveal the sensitive areas of the track, and the design method of CWR and track structures on the beam ends are proposed. The results show that the unidirectional Rail Expansion Joints(REJ) need to be installed on the beam end of the kilometer-span bridge to reduce rail longitudinal force. Due to the bridge characteristics, there is no CWR fixed area on the kilometer-span bridge, and rail longitudinal force on the main span caused by bending loads needs to be concerned. The deformation of track on the beam end is complex, which is the weak area on the kilometer bridge, the large relative displacement between the stock rail of REJ and the main beam can cause poor stability of ballast bed on beam end, small resistance fasteners need to be laid on the sides of stock rail on the main beam to increase the stability of ballast and fasteners on the beam end. To improve the driving safety and comfort of beam end, the Sleeper-Supporting Apparatus (SSA) should be specially designed to ensure the uniform transition of track on beam ends. Temperature and wind loads have a significant impact on track regularity on the kilometer span bridge, the dynamic response of trains and bridges under those loads needs to be attended to.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100607,"journal":{"name":"High-speed Railway","volume":"1 2","pages":"Pages 97-109"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49700156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the fault diagnosis of RPS, most existing methods assume that sufficient samples of each failure mode are available, which may be unrealistic, especially for those modes of low occurrence frequency but with high risk. To address this issue, this work proposes a novel fault diagnosis method that only requires the power signals generated under normal RPS operations in the training stage. Specifically, the failure modes of RPS are distinguished through constructing a reasoning diagram, whose nodes are either binary logic problems or those that can be decomposed into the problems of the binary logic. Then, an unsupervised method for the signal segmentation and a fault detection method are combined to make decisions for each binary logic problem. Based on the results of decisions, the diagnostic rules are established to identify the failure modes. Finally, the data collected from multiple real-world RPSs are used for validation and the results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the benchmark in identifying the faults of RPSs.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100607,"journal":{"name":"High-speed Railway","volume":"1 2","pages":"Pages 110-119"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49700133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
