While structural balance theory has been widely applied in social networks, its potential to explain resilience and fragility in sociotechnical transitions remains insufficiently examined. To address this gap, this study adopts a signed graph framework to model and analyze structural balance and systemic fragility within such networks. Using both synthetic and real-world datasets, we apply targeted perturbations including node removal and sign flipping based on centrality metrics to examine their effects on balance, modularity, and community cohesion. The results indicate a notable decrease in structural balance and a moderate increase in modularity following the removal of high-centrality nodes, reflecting heightened fragmentation and polarization. Triad analysis further shows that balanced triads principally emerge within communities, underscoring the correspondence between structural balance and cohesive substructures. These findings provide insights into how patterns of trust, regulation, and innovation may shape the resilience and coordination capacity of complex sociotechnical systems.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100376,"journal":{"name":"Digital Business","volume":"6 1","pages":"Article 100165"},"PeriodicalIF":7.2,"publicationDate":"2026-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"146173660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study develops an integrated framework grounded in the Theory of Needs, Self-Determination Theory, and Human Capital Theory. Moreover, it underscores the role of digital platforms as entrepreneurial ecosystems that foster opportunity recognition and value creation. The empirical research draws on a sample of 719 students from diverse academic fields, including music conservatory students, a group rarely examined in entrepreneurship research, and university students. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is employed to test the model and conduct multi-group analysis. Our results suggest that entrepreneurial motivation, experience, and competences significantly predict entrepreneurial intention, whereas financial knowledge influences only crowdfunding intention. Entrepreneurial intention is strongly associated with crowdfunding intention. Most direct effects are consistent across disciplines, although the relationship between financial knowledge and crowdfunding intention differs among groups. This study advances theory by connecting motivational and human capital perspectives to explain crowdfunding adoption in both traditional and creative business contexts. Practical implications highlight the importance of reinforcing entrepreneurship education alongside financial and digital literacy. Crowdfunding platforms and policy design should promote inclusive, adaptive, and mentoring-oriented support for potential entrepreneurs.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100376,"journal":{"name":"Digital Business","volume":"6 1","pages":"Article 100164"},"PeriodicalIF":7.2,"publicationDate":"2026-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"146173661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study systematically reviews existing research to understand the impact of FinTech adoption in traditional banking and explores emerging trends using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and a bibliometric analysis of Scopus data from 2003 to May 27, 2025. The review identifies a growing body of research in FinTech and traditional banking, with China contributing 20.38%, followed by Malaysia 6.24%, India 5.76%, Jordan 5.51%, and Indonesia with 4.55% of the total studies, respectively. According to the review, 48.57% reported a positive impact, 15.24% negative impact, and 36.19% mixed impact of FinTech on traditional banking. Additionally, 37.46% and 37.14% of studies suggest that FinTech adoption is frequently associated with improved customer experience and increased performance, respectively. Similarly, 30.16%, 24.13%, and 22.86% of studies highlight FinTech's role in improving competitiveness, cost efficiency, and better risk management, respectively. However, 34.29% of studies caution about potential risks associated with FinTech adoption. Furthermore, 24.76% reveal financial and operational challenges and increased direct competition, while adverse influence on bank efficiency and profitability is noted by 11.75% studies, respectively. The outcome of this review suggests that over-reliance on FinTech could introduce operational risks and erode the competitive advantages of the traditional banks, highlighting the need for evolving regulatory frameworks. These synthesized insights could be essential for banking professionals, policymakers, regulators, and tech developers to strike a balance between innovation and financial stability in the digital age.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100376,"journal":{"name":"Digital Business","volume":"6 1","pages":"Article 100163"},"PeriodicalIF":7.2,"publicationDate":"2026-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145979622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Extensive research has examined the implications of AI implementation in the workplace. However, previous studies have mainly focused on historical perspectives or conceptual analyses. This study presents findings from a systematic literature review covering empirical research from five years (2020–2024). We focus on workers' first-hand experiences and appraisals of AI-related <em>changes</em> in their workplaces. We also synthesize how attitudes towards AI vary across professional sectors and implementation contexts. Using the PRISMA methodology, we conducted systematic searches across five databases: EBSCOhost (EBSCO), PsycINFO (APA), Scopus (Elsevier), Social Science Premium Collection (ProQuest), and Web of Science (Clarivate) between June 3rd and 10th, 2024. A synthesis of <em>k</em> = 24 studies revealed that workers perceive AI as both an opportunity and a source of concern. Automation and decision-support tools in the workplace were related to improved efficiency, productivity, and perceived fairness, but they were also connected to anxiety and uncertainty about role change and job security. Evidence was most prevalent in healthcare and education, indicating a need for broader sectoral and regional research. The findings highlight the importance of transparent and ethical AI integration, ensuring fairness, accountability, and human oversight, supported by workforce training and communication.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100376,"journal":{"name":"Digital Business","volume":"6 1","pages":"Article 100162"},"PeriodicalIF":7.2,"publicationDate":"2026-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145898213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study investigates how auditor expertise and IT literacy interact to influence adaptability in a digital context. Through a two-way ANOVA, we examine how varying levels of expertise and IT literacy jointly impact auditors' adaptability. Expertise and IT literacy levels are calculated using quartile and tertile assumptions, categorizing respondents into distinct groups. Findings indicate that auditors with both high expertise and IT literacy demonstrate significantly greater adaptability, underscoring the importance of digital skills alongside traditional competencies. IT literacy strengthens auditors' capacity to navigate complex digital systems, enhancing adaptability, while low IT literacy can restrict adaptability and hinder performance. Additionally, this study highlights key benefits and challenges in adapting to digital practices, noting that digital skills can improve audit quality if emphasized in training programs. Although digital transformation offers clear advantages, it presents challenges, such as heightened demands for digital proficiency and the need for continuous development to reduce risks. As the audit profession evolves, auditor adaptability—supported by IT literacy—will be critical in thriving within digital landscapes. The implications underscore the need for audit firms to integrate IT literacy training with traditional skill development to prepare auditors effectively for the future of digital auditing.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100376,"journal":{"name":"Digital Business","volume":"5 2","pages":"Article 100126"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143877004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While prior research has identified various antecedents of IWB, the role of generative AI (GenAI) remains underexplored. We address this gap by investigating how employees' capabilities to use and evaluate GenAI influence their IWB. Building on the dynamic capabilities view, we further explore how employees' capabilities to sense technological shifts shape the development of these GenAI capabilities and ultimately foster IWB. We test our model using survey data from 439 business consultants in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, analyzed via partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Our results show that employees' sensing capabilities promote both GenAI capabilities and directly enhance IWB. While employees' capability to evaluate GenAI promotes IWB, GenAI usage capability does not. Moreover, we identify a significant mediation pathway: employees' sensing capabilities enhance GenAI usage capability, which in turn enables GenAI evaluation capability and thereby fosters IWB. This study contributes to the IWB literature by exploring relevant yet understudied antecedents: employees' sensing capabilities and their capabilities to use and evaluate GenAI. In this paper, we specifically explore SSBI in the production domain, where Internet-of-Things and production data are core data sources in production companies. This paper takes a design science approach, where a structured literature review is used to establish the current research frontier. From our analysis of the problem situation, and close empirical collaboration with a company experiencing problems with implementing SSBI systems, we propose and design two digital artifacts. The two artifacts are partly evaluated based on empirical data from the case company. In this paper, we find that data should not only be made available in SSBI systems, but must also be presented in accordance with domain knowledge of the users. This finding implies that the SSBI literature should to a larger degree draw upon insights from relevant IS literature on contextualized data. Practitioners should design IS systems with contextualized data at their core, as the digital twin discussed in this paper. The second main finding of the paper is that analytics in SSBI systems should be prescriptive analytics, which directly supports the users’ decision-making. A novel contribution of this paper is integrating the concept of prescriptive analytics SSBI systems, and in this paper we discuss and partly validate how integrating prescriptive analytics and SSBI systems can improve decision-making in a production context.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100376,"journal":{"name":"Digital Business","volume":"5 2","pages":"Article 100156"},"PeriodicalIF":7.2,"publicationDate":"2025-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145360993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
