Distance covered, heart rate and session rating of perceived exertion [SRPE] were recorded during 12 training sessions in 14 youth women handball athletes (16.9±1.1 years). Internal load models based on SRPE and Edwards’ Trimp were calculated. An oscillatory feature was observed for the three methods of TL assessment (SRPE: 383±159 A.U., Edwards’ Trimp: 252±71 A.U., total distance: 3997±1291 m). A large correlation was found between Edwards’ Trimp and distance covered (r=0.59). A moderate correlation was observed for Edwards’ Trimp vs. SRPE (r=0.36), and between SRPE vs. distance covered (r=0.49). Shared variances of 13–35% were observed between TL methods comparisons. The results suggest that different constructs seem to be measured by each load model. However, high donor-site morbidity has been related to this procedure. A better understanding of the donor-site healing process could help us to decrease donor-site problems. Tendon width and thickness of the unaffected limbs showed a tendency to stabilization, while the injured limb showed a significant increase in both values during the first 1-2 months. At 12-months post-op, patellar tendon of the injured limb was significantly wider and thicker than the unaffected contralateral limb.

Conclusion

Harvesting the central third of the patellar tendon during the BPTB procedure after an ACL injury leads to significant changes in the patellar tendon that can last for up to 12 months after the surgery. The DOMS were higher in National League (p<0.001) and games preceded by victory (p<0.005). The HI (r=-0.53, p<0.001), age (r=-0.18, p<0.01), and muscle pain (r = -0.39, p <0.001) correlated with the TQR. The TQR was higher in games preceded by defeat (15.5 ± 1.6) compared to victory (14.6 ± 1.7, p<0.01). The pre-game HI and TQR scores were not significantly different (p>0.05) in games that ended in victory, draw or defeat.

Conclusion

the results suggest that the DOMS scores of HI and TQR reported before at home official Futsal games are correlated with contextual factors including the level of championship and outcome of the last game.

","PeriodicalId":100113,"journal":{"name":"Apunts Sports Medicine","volume":"57 214","pages":"Article 100385"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2666506922000074/pdfft?md5=71e040bada5e6e440fcc4536014a1390&pid=1-s2.0-S2666506922000074-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80174592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
