A qualitative research design was implemented with 60 purposively selected participants, ensuring variation by ethnicity (49 Afro-descendant and 11 Indigenous), gender (34 women and 26 men), and role (institutional and community). All participants were adults affected by the armed conflict and registered in the National Victims Registry (RUV). Data were collected through in-depth interviews and the analysis of paradigmatic cases, complemented by field notes documenting contextual aspects of the data collection process. An inductive thematic analysis was conducted using the social determinants of health as the analytical framework. The findings reveal that violence affecting communities in the Nariño Pacific region operates as a structural determinant of health, characterized by systemic, symbolic, and historical configurations embedded within multiple social determinants (sociocultural, economic, political, environmental, and health service-related). As climate change intensifies in the 21st century, food-based dietary guidelines have begun integrating environmental sustainability considerations. Despite growing global efforts to incorporate sustainability into food-based dietary guidelines, few studies have explored how to operationalize such guidance. A multiregional participatory study was conducted with adults from the central urban metropolitan area and the La Araucanía Region, in southern Chile, using semistructured interviews combined with card-sorting activities. The most commonly consumed and preferred traditional culinary preparations from each region were presented on cards and sorted according to participants' perceptions across five dimensions of sustainable diets. In both regions, over 70% of participants reported physical access to most traditional culinary preparations, although economic access varied. In the Metropolitan Area, perceptions of environmental impact were more diverse, while participants in the La Araucanía Region generally viewed traditional foods as sustainable due to their natural origins. Taste preference was high across preparations; however, only fruits and salads were consumed almost daily. Only six traditional preparations scored below 60% for overall sustainability. These findings highlight important regional differences and gaps between taste preferences, perceptions of environmental sustainability, and actual consumption of sustainable traditional culinary preparations. A systematic review was conducted following the steps recommended by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guideline. The MEDLINE via PubMed, Virtual Health Library, Web of Science, and Embase databases were searched, and all studies on the topic were considered, with no restrictions on language or publication period. Studies lacking the groups of interest (individuals with and without Chagas disease) or stroke as an outcome were excluded. Design-specific meta-analyses were performed using a random-effects model. Of the 1,695 studies identified, 7 were included in the systematic review and 6 in the meta-analysis. Among cohort studies (n = 2), the pooled meta-analysis estimate showed an increased risk of stroke among individuals with Chagas disease (RR = 1.92; 95%CI: 1.20-3.06). Among cross-sectional studies (n = 4), the pooled estimate revealed a higher prevalence of stroke among individuals with Chagas disease (PR = 1.63; 95%CI: 1.22-2.18). The certainty of evidence was rated as very low according to the GRADE approach. The results indicated an association between Chagas disease and stroke; however, they should be interpreted with caution, considering the heterogeneity across study designs and the small number of studies. It aims to problematize how racism, sexism, and patriarchy - legacies of colonial modernity - shape the intersectional determination of health inequities sustained by political, economic, and symbolic systems that naturalize the subordination of racialized bodies. This theoretical-analytical essay articulates the critical literature based on decolonial and intersectional references and analyzes documents such as Latin American reports and regional studies. Its argumentative path conceptualizes coloniality in dialogue with Black feminism authors, evincing how racialization, class, and gender structure the unequal distribution of opportunities, risks, and deaths. It also examines some recent data (pre- and post-COVID-19 pandemic) on work, violence, poverty, and health, highlighting persistent racial and gender asymmetries that indicate continuous and multifaceted intersecting inequalities in the economic, social, and health fields and perpetuate colonial hierarchies. This article evaluated the extent to which PDPs contributed to strengthening the national production capacity of strategic medicines in the period from 2011 to 2024. A formative evaluation of public policy was carried out, based on documentary analysis, data from government acquisitions and the construction of indicators of productive and technological sustainability. The results show relevant, but uneven, advances between technological platforms, public institutions and therapeutic classes. PDPs associated with synthetic drugs showed greater production stability, while partnerships in biotechnology platforms faced greater challenges of technological internalization. High institutional heterogeneity and concentration of capacities were observed in a few public laboratories. A qualitative study of multiple cases was carried out in three health consortia implemented in different regions of Bahia. Data collection took place between July and November 2022 and involved document analysis and 51 semi-structured interviews with state, regional, and municipal managers. The content analysis was guided by the theoretical-logical model developed for the research. The implementation of the consortia was made possible by the strong leadership of the state government and by financial incentives, which allowed the strategic management of political conflicts with the municipalities. The strategy resulted in a significant expansion of the offer of specialized services, reducing dependence on contracting private services and referrals to the capital. However, important challenges persist for the integration of the network, such as the incipient articulation with primary care, the high rate of absenteeism (30%) and the difficulty of adapting the portfolio of services to local and regional demands. The Bahian experience demonstrates that the formation of consortia is a powerful strategy to expand the supply of specialized care, overcoming political barriers through incentives and negotiation. However, the transition from a fragmented model to a truly integrated care network requires additional investments in care coordination, care regulation, and governance mechanisms that articulate the different points of care in a cohesive and patient-centered system. We used data from the Mexican National Continuous Health and Nutrition Survey (2021-2023), which included 2,846 women who had recently given birth. We assessed both independent and conditional coverage indicators across the maternal health care continuum. We analyzed the association with socioeconomic status using logistic regression and measured inequality with the concentration index and Wagstaff-type decomposition analysis. The prevalence of the continuum of care for maternal health was 37.3% (95%CI: 34.6-40.1). Women affiliated with Social Security health services (OR = 1.37, 95%CI: 1.1-1.8), those whose children were born before the pandemic (OR = 1.84, 95%CI: 1.4-2.4), and non-Indigenous women (OR = 2.08, 95%CI: 1.2-3.6) were more likely to receive the continuum of care. The estimated inequality was concentration index = 0.098 (p < 0.05), indicating a pro-rich distribution. The main contributing factors were non-Indigenous status (30%), affiliation with Social Security (31.1%), and pre-pandemic period (9.6%). Our analysis identified the factors contributing to inequalities across various social groups. This qualitative study used a participatory approach. Data were collected by World Café discussion groups and semi-structured interviews with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and CHWs. Thematic network analysis was used to find intrapersonal, interpersonal, and environmental factors influencing dietary behaviors. This study included 64 participants - 47 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and 17 CHWs in the Brazilian Amazon. Key barriers to healthy eating included financial constraints, lack of family support, and limited access to qualified health professionals such as nutritionists. Additional environmental challenges included seasonal food shortages and poor access to markets. Facilitators included personal motivation, dietary awareness, family support, and local food cultivation. Although the Amazon has a rich biodiversity conducive to healthy eating, socioeconomic and environmental conditions often prevent people with diabetes from accessing healthy food. Overall, 638 individuals with formal and informal work contracts answered the instrument. The acceptability, internal consistency, and dimensionality of the scale were evaluated using descriptive and analytical statistics, including factor analysis with methodology for categorical variables, appropriate to ordinal data and based on polychoric correlations. The EPRES-Br showed high acceptability (above 90%) and acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.77 for workers in Salvador and 0.84 for physical therapists). The dimensions Wages, Disempowerment and Vulnerability confirmed the theoretical construct, while Temporariness and Rights carried the same factor, and two items on time off carried outside the original theoretical dimension (Exercise Rights).
