The paper introduces a method for predicting injury of railway transport passengers as a result of swinging over the wagon on the body of railroad tracks. The method of research is mathematical modeling of scenarios of swinging over the wagon on a flat bottom or earth tramp of the railway track. A model of a passenger compartment has been developed, which is supplemented with models of a roomette, hand luggage and an anthropometric dummy. The originality of the work is the use of mannequin models for an accident with the rollover of a compartment car on the body of the railroad tracks and obtaining data on the interaction of fit models and a compartment car. The result of the study is the reported values of possible injury to passengers during an emergency rollover of a passenger car. Namely, the values of the head injury criterion, cervical vertebrae, breast and hips of the crash test dummy have been obtained. In comparison of the two considered scenarios of swinging over the wagon, the value of the head injury criterion for overturning the car on an inclined surface is 15% higher, the neck injury criterion is 30% higher, and the hip and chest injury criterion is 23% higher for mannequins on the upper shelves of the compartment due to their interaction with hand luggage. The obtained values do not exceed critical ones. The most dangerous positions of the mannequin model in the compartment of the car are revealed. It successfully collects data for calculating and analyzing the space of design solutions, for more accurate forecasting of product characteristics based on numerical modeling. The additional module performs the analysis and optimization of the welding process in an interdisciplinary optimization environment. The algorithm sets up strategies for finding the best solution based on the required characteristics and properties of the product. The calculation scheme for the kinematic parameters of abrasive finishing of thin-walled easily deformable plates and the mathematical dependence for calculating the pressure on the lapping faceplates with the processed parts are determined. The aim of the work is to obtain an analytical dependence that establishes the relationship between the operating parameters and the conditions of the abrasive finishing process with the roughness of the working surface of the plates. The task, which the article is devoted to solve is theoretical and experimental studies of the influence of technological modes and conditions of abrasive finishing of plates with complex relative movement of parts and lapping on the roughness of the treated surfaces, as well as in the development of a methodology for determining rational modes and conditions of surface treatment of thin-walled plates. Theoretical research was carried out on the basis of the main provisions of mechanical engineering technology, grinding theory, theoretical mechanics, theory of elasticity and plasticity, probability theory and mathematical statistics. Experimental studies have been carried out according to standard methods in production and laboratory conditions using certified control and measuring equipment. Special attention is paid to the techniques of quantitative microscopy, as a kind of ancestress of modern microstructure analysis systems. The analysis of modern computer programs used to analyze images of microstructures obtained from digital microscopes is presented. The basics of fractal analysis as a highly effective tool for calculating numerical values of parameters of geometrically complex objects are outlined. Using the example of the analysis of graphitized cast iron structure, the application of the fractal analysis method to determine such characteristics of the graphite phase as the shape of graphite inclusions and their distribution in the alloy volume is demonstrated. As part of the study, various classes of cast iron have been studied, such as graphitic pig iron with flaked graphite, cast iron with vermicular graphite, and high-grade cast iron with spheroidal graphite. To determine the shape of graphite inclusions, a fractal dimension has been proposed to be used, and the unevenness of the distribution has been estimated using such a function as lacunarity. The individual stages of determining these characteristics using a specialized FracLac module applied in the structure of the ImageJ program are presented. The obtained results showed high adequacy. Despite positive assessment, the shortcomings identified during the research on the use of fractal analysis methods for identifying geometrically complex dimensional and topological parameters inherent in the graphite phase in cast iron are noted. The urgency of the problem of automated traffic control with the information for vehicle drivers about traffic situation using both navigation systems and warning systems by means of signal transfer to radar-detectors is shown. \u0000 The investigation purpose consists in the development of automated self-regulated system of traffic lights control on the basis of vehicle number approaching to the traffic lights and vehicle driver warning about traffic jam approaching for the purpose of its going around. \u0000 In the paper there are solved problems regarding traffic capacity of a megapolis traffic system, driver warning about problem road situations and the automation of these processes. On the basis of the theory of automated control there is shown a developed system allowing the formation of a traffic passage by means of driver warning about traffic jam ahead. There are described thoroughly component parts of the system limiting only with the choice of components among prototypes available in the market. \u0000A principle of automated traffic flow control at the crossroads supplied with the traffic lights is shown. There is shown a functional diagram of the interaction of system components for the successful traffic organization. The algorithm of the system automation functioning with its adjustment to certain time intervals of the effect of the enabling traffic light signal at a particular T-shaped or X-shaped intersection is described. The system developed for traffic control at intersections allows relieving considerably city streets. The analysis of the system has shown that traffic lights adaptive control allows decreasing traffic up to 70%. The method used is an analytical representation of the dependencies of the plate shape. The relevance of the proposed approach is justified by the great complexity of pre-design studies for choosing the type of drive chain of various mechanisms. Main results-dependences are proposed for determining the area of plates both with the \"eight\" type shape of the inner link of a standard roller (bushing) chain, and plates with straight side faces, and it is reasonable to choose the design of the drive chain for the specified operating loading conditions. The analysis of calculation results has shown sufficient strength and potentialities for updating an available car metal structure for the application as a universal body of a refrigerator car. \u0000Work purpose: the estimation of a stress-strain state in the load-bearing structure of a basic body for insulated cars of different types of refrigerator- and thermos cars. \u0000Investigation methods: for the analysis of the stress-strain state in a load-bearing structure in three versions of the bodies of refrigerator- and thermos cars under loads with “Normal” modes there was used the “APM WinMachine” software complex realizing a finite element method. \u0000Results and novelty: for the first time there are offered arrangement solutions for the location of refrigeration-heating plants earlier not used for refrigeration rolling-stock (RRS). The formation of an investigation process for computer technology use at the solution of the problem to ensure specified quality at the realization of engineering processes for metal working tool strengthening in the plasma generator of a glow discharge allowed creating an efficient system of control. The creation of conditions for the fulfillment of human cognitive potentialities with the high degree of similarity such as identification, accumulation and dissemination or transfer of information in the form of electromagnetic pulses similar to neural exchange allows optimizing a control system of quality of product strengthening in the plasma generator of a glow discharge. The formulation of a management solution in the form of the chain of commands in the neural network of the control system of the plasma generator of a glow discharge is formed in accordance with phenomena forming output responses and conditions ensuring their formation. \u0000Investigation results: for setting an optimum field of investigations and, accordingly, for increasing effectiveness of the automated control system of finishing quality under the glow discharge plasma impact during the whole engineering process the use of unique potentialities of continuous neural network monitoring is intended. The application of the neural network approach and its unique functions at the formation of the control system using the continuous monitoring of basic engineering process parameters of finishing ensuring specified quality of machining steps realized allows ensuring high repeatability at metal working tool strengthening. In the technological system developed all functions of control and management are based on the use of the neural network approach that allows visualizing its functioning on the monitor in the course of the whole engineering finishing process in the form of graphical dependence. \u0000Conclusions: \u00001. The use of unique potentialities of continuous neural network monitoring allows defining a optimum field of investigations at the lowest cost and accordingly increasing quality of the automated system of finishing quality control at the impact of glow discharge plasma. \u00002.
