A double gallbladder (GB), with or without duplication of cystic duct is a very rare surgical encounter, with an incidence of approximately 1 in 4000–5000 population.Symptomatic conditions of duplicated gallbladder are usually associated with cholecystitis, cholangitis, gallstone disease, and pancreatitis but are rarely diagnosed with carcinoma. Surgery is the ideal treatment choice of symptomatic duplicated gallbladder.Duplication of the GB is rarely detected preoperatively, can lead to difficulties during surgery with increased likelihood of conversion to open surgery and complications. Our patients is a 45-year-old woman admittedas case of symptomatic cholelithiasis. Patient was admitted to the hospital for laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Preoperative investigations showed that the patient had only Gallstones. Intraoperatively, patient was found to have double gallbladder with double cystic duct.Subsequently,we successfully performed laparoscopic Cholecystectomy after carful identification and dissection of all these critical structures. The patient's recovery was uneventful, and she was discharged on day one post op.All surgeons should be aware of this rare congenital abnormality of the gallbladder, in addition, thorough knowledge of the anatomical variations of the gallbladder and cystic duct greatly aids the surgeon in anticipating duplications, managing it accordingly and avoiding any complications.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46992427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Evidence suggest that diaphragm ultrasound (DU) can be utilized, as an alternative to PFTs, to detect reduced diaphragmatic motility in ALS patients. This study aimed to verify the agreement between the results obtained by DU with those obtained by PFTs in both standing-up and supine positions.Methods: Twenty nine spinal ALS and thirteen healthy controls were studied in standing up and lying 30° supine position. All subjects performed PFTs and DU, to assess of diaphragmatic excursion, delta-thickness between end inspiration and end expiration (ΔT), and the thickening fraction (TF). Results: The standing position, ΔT correlates with VC (r=0.58p=0.001) and FVC (r=0.61 p<0.001); in lying 30° supine position, ΔT correlates with VC(r=0.59 p=0.001) and FVC (r=0.62 p<0.001). In standing up position, TF correlates with VC (r=0.55 p=0.003) and FVC (r=0.53 p=0.005); in lying 30° supine position, TF correlates with VC (r=0.55 p=0.003) and FVC (r=0.51 p=0.007). The following correlations were also observed: the standing position, diaphragmatic excursion correlated with VC(r=0.55 p=0.007) and FVC (r =0.65 p<0.001). In lying 30° supine position, diaphragmatic excursion correlated with VC(r=0.59 p=0.003); and FVC(r=0.63 p=0.001).Conclusion: DU adequately assesses the diaphragmatic impairment in ALS patients. Thickening and excursion appear as complementary indices in the evaluation of diaphragm motility.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47882197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study explains the risk factors of chronic malnutrition during the first two years of life in south west Benin. The methodological approach uses the construction of Food Consumption Score (FCS), Reduced Coping Strategies Index (rCSI), Household Dietary Diversity Score (HDDS), and Livelihood Coping Strategies (LCS). The Chi2 test helps to examine the dependency between the variables. The simple binary logit model is used to explore the effects of the explanatory variables on the dependent variable. The results show that about 27% of children aged 6-23 months are chronically malnourished. The age range of the child, the type of union, the average monthly income of the head of the household, the food consumption score, and the size of the family determine the chronic malnutrition. During difficult times, households rely on atypical coping strategy mechanisms by disposing of their productive assets. 20.3% of households can marginally cover their minimum food needs using crisis or emergency coping strategy mechanisms.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49629968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, MEDLINE®, LILACS, SCIELO and PUBMED platforms were used. From a total of 45,634 articles, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 scientific publications were eligible among the 64 read in full. According to the review, it appears that there is seasonality in distal radius fractures according to the seasons of the year. The decreased bone strength of these patients was associated with an increased risk of fracture in 10 years and individuals from a rural environment with less hospital support have a greater chance of not having an adequate post- fracture follow-up.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43846418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Power blackouts make it hard for clinicians and nurses to see clearly when attending to patients in the dark. Hence, many patients have lost their lives during the mistake-prone poor visual setting. This situation gets worse for centres located at more remote regions of LMICs, where power outages could last for many days. A recently published article on “neonatal-rescue-scheme” concept proposed the reversal in neonatal traffic, by taking the interventions to rural places where more needy neonates are to save them. Therefore, it becomes imperative to develop a reliable solar system of independent and sustainable technology that can guarantee dusk-to-dawn facility lighting at such remote locations, which may not have grid electricity.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42299801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In terms of their energy, they could not do so. However, there is clinical and molecular biological evidence that this can be. There exists a 3-stage mechanism of action, via peroxinitrite, which could lead to DNA damage. The sequence of these processes will be described. Therefore, there is a reasonable suspicion that EMF could also cause DNA damage. The organs with fast and high cell division rate are particularly affected. The general exposure to technical electrosmog (especially 5G) must therefore be marked with a question mark.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49448301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The capsule contains a camera that takes pictures as it moves through the digestive tract. The images are transmitted to a small recording device that the patient wears on a belt or shoulder strap. The recording device stores the images, which are later downloaded and examined by a doctor. The pill-sized camera records a video for eight to twelve hours. The purpose of this work is to investigate and put into practise a technique for summarising the capsule endoscopy footage. The method clusters the video frames in order to accomplish this by looking for local maxima in the neighbouring distance graph that is generated from the colour histograms of each video frame. The method then determines the centroid frame for each cluster and produces a key-frame for each cluster. Visualising the conclusion of this investigation is its second objective. This is accomplished by placing each cluster on a timeline according to the size and calibre of the keyframe. The summary of the capsule endoscopy video is generated as a sequence of keyframes. These keyframes are representative frames of the video. The work also proposes a technique to assess the quality and the quantity of the keyframes extracted.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47608180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

P4 exerts its primary action via its two receptors: progesterone receptor A (PGR-A) and B (PGR-B). Analyses of transcriptomeand cistrome genome have unearthed novel members and modifiers of the P4signaling pathway. The increase in serum P4 levels and down-regulation of PGR-B are important in the development of pinopodes, thus marking implantation. Additionally, it promotes the quiescent myometrial cell phenotype, and the inhibition of its production in myometrial cells induces labor and is the key physiologic initiator of parturition.Through genomic and non-genomic intracellular mechanisms involving these PGR isoforms, various physiologic states can be determined such as the quiescent and contractile myometrium during pregnancy.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47683788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
