Autoimmune disorders cause a wide range of symptoms; from joint degeneration and pain to demyelination of the brain and spinal cord, these diseases have the potential to cause severe anguish and physical pain to the people affected by them. While patients with autoimmune disorder are most immediately affected, loved ones of patients also suffer emotionally, and oftentimes, financially due to the disease. One particularly debilitating autoimmune disorder, multiple sclerosis, is characterized by demyelination of the brain and spinal cord. Multiple sclerosis has detrimental effects on the central nervous system, with many patients losing the ability to ambulate or move. Multiple sclerosis has no cure, but many different drugs have been created that help patients and their families manage the","PeriodicalId":92258,"journal":{"name":"Journal of stem cell research","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139357199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stem Cell Therapy For Type 1 Diabetes 1型糖尿病的干细胞治疗

Without insulin, the cells cannot insert glucose transporters into their membrane and blood sugar subsequently rises. The effects of type 1 diabetes can develop into various life-threatening conditions including heart attacks and strokes. Insulin therapy is required for type 1 diabetics, but its short-lived effects are less than ideal and often decrease quality of life. Stem cells offer a long-term solution with their ability to differentiate into insulin-producing beta cells and modulate the immune system. They can be injected directly into the body or implanted in encapsulated devices. Regardless of the technique, stem cells can restore insulin production in the body and offer a potential cure for type 1 diabetes. Stem cell therapy has a list of benefits, but the advanced technology will inevitably come with a high price tag, contributing to the increasingly inaccessible treatment options for type 1 diabetes. Should future success convince the FDA to approve its clinical use and convince insurance to cover the procedure, the long-term solution of stem cell therapy might replace insulin injections forever.","PeriodicalId":92258,"journal":{"name":"Journal of stem cell research","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135693347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dental mesenchymal stem cells contribute to tooth growth and repair. Due to their accessibility, mesenchymal stem cells provide a favorable model system for studying stem cell function and properties. When monitoring oral health, the study of dental mesenchymal stem cell research is beneficial. Due to tooth accessibility, researchers are given a valuable opportunity to test stem-cell-based treatments for dental disorders. Within the oral cavity, there are many different types of fibroblasts that assist with the formation of the connective tissue that provides support within the mouth. When there is decay of those fibroblast cells, unique dental mesenchymal stem cells are isolated and used to reverse any deterioration or decay. A major stem cell that allows for a healthy oral cavity are human gingival mesenchymal stem cells, also known as GMSCs. GMSCs are essential due to their high proliferation and differentiation rate. By differentiating into cell lineages, GMSCs can be used for regenerative therapy within the oral cavity, specifically the gums.","PeriodicalId":92258,"journal":{"name":"Journal of stem cell research","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135675217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RCC is most often detected incidentally in individuals between the ages of 60 and 70 and possesses a high degree of heterogeneity with an extremely high risk of metastasis. Recently, the disease has become known to encompass differing histological subtypes and unique genetic and molecular modifications, even further complicating treatment options. The progression of the disease can affect the digestive, skeletal, circulatory, immune, nervous, and reproductive systems causing a wide range of symptoms including cough, chest and bone pain, nausea, shortness of breath, fever, seizures, and more.
