The model is defined by a collection. of continuous scenario models and a switching mechanism to transition from one model to another. The scenario model itself is a collection of modeling knowledge which includes parameters and relations among them, constraints, control information, etc. This paper introduces our research on knowledge representation in compositional modeling. The constituents of the scenario model are described. By decomposing the image into level sets and subtracting between two level sets, a level difference set is defined. The connected components of each level difference set are measured using their area. Then the connected components are stored in a data structure in order of size, largest first. The level difference sets-based representation is applied in image-based rendering when time is critical. The data of the image is loaded from the head of the data structure and used to calculate or render. Thus the outlines of the image are displayed first, and details are added as time passes. Compared with the conventional controller, the intelligent PID controller has good robustness and adaptability. Because its parameter tuning and control strategy switching are based on control deviation, it can be implemented easily. The traditional text categorization algorithm is not sufficient for web categorization. In this paper we discuss the process in Web categorization, and proposed a new information gain measure for feature selections and term weighting. We also discussed three linear classifiers. Then we propose a novel hyperlink based classifier. It uses the characteristics of the Web graph. Based on the Bayesian statistical learning theory and a large number of sample data, which represent the historic running record of the machine, different probability density functions of frequent classes of machine faults are established to determine the current running state. Moreover, the mining results are valuable for domain experts to discover the running regularity of machines, predict the running trend and provide decision supports for senior managers. The fundamental objective of ordinal classification is to create an ordering in the universe of discourse. As such, a decision tree for ordinal classification should aim at producing an ordering which is most consistent with the implicit ordering in the input data. Ordinal classification problems are often dealt with by treating ordinal classes as nominal classes, or by representing the classes as values on a quantitative scale. Such approaches may not lead to the most desirable results since the methods do not fit the type of data, viz. ordinal data, concerned. In this paper, we propose a new measure for assessing the quality of output from an ordinal classification approach. We also propose an induction method to generate an ordinal decision tree for ordinal classification based on this quality perspective.
