A sample size of 100 pregnant women was selected using a non-probability convenient sampling method. The study was performed with the patients completing a self-administered questionnaire. The data was collected within three week period and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 20. The response rate was 100%, with the majority of the respondents between the ages of 35-40 years. Most pregnant women were not anxious before the ultrasound examination. However, 28% of the respondents did experience anxiety, mainly the mild level of anxiety. The cause of the anxiety of patients was mainly the outcome of their examination. The majority of the respondents indicated that they received no detailed explanations about the ultrasound examination. Although the study provided evidence that more than half of the pregnant women were not anxious during waiting, 28% of them did experience anxiety before the ultrasound examination. This experience was mainly the mild level of anxiety. The results suggested that detailed explanations of the study and reassurances be given to pregnant women in the waiting room and these are very essential components in the provision of care preceding ultrasound examination.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"2016 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2167-7964.1000244","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70851084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both breasts were scanned utilizing clockwise, overlapping radial approach with linear array probe L17-5 (5-17 MHz), depth 3.5-4.0 cm and gain 86-87% for each woman. \u0000Results: 615 women were examined within age groups from 20-70 years old and different ethnic group (Malay, Chinese and Indian). Findings of ultrasound images revealed that Indians owned the highest mean score of breast tissues in premenopausal age group compared with others, the mean of glandular tissue (length × width) for Indian respondents was 22.51 nm ± 8.79 mm for right upper outer. The mean of fat lobules (length × width) of right lower outer for Indian and Malay respondents at pre-menopausal were 26.57 mm ± 12.05 mm and 27.10 mm ± 11.51 mm respectively, while in Chinese respondents were 15.84 mm ± 9.51 mm. Approximately the left breast has the same values as right breast in each breast tissue. \u0000Conclusion: This study observed that the prevalence and wide range size of ultrasound breast tissue between premenopausal and postmenopausal women were varying among the three ethnic groups. Also revealed that; ultrasound can be a good first row image modality in breast imaging.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"2016 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2167-7964.1000243","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70851037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hepatic artery anatomical variations are a common finding. Aim: The aim of our study was to estimate the prevalence of various hepatic arterial variants in HCC patients and compare it with that in individuals with no abdominal abnormality. Patients and methods: Total of 78 patients was included in the study. They were categorized into following groups: 1) Patients with HCC (n=46); 2) Control group (n=32). Prevalence of variant arterial anatomy in each group and subgroup was determined and compared to the values in Control Group. Results: Compared to the control group HCC group showed higher incidence of hepatic arterial anatomy variations (54.5% vs. 31.2%). The difference was statistically significant (p<0.05). Among the patients with HCC lesions larger than 10 cm the percentage of arterial variations was 81.25% which was very statistically significantly different from that of the control group (p<0.01). This subgroup of patients also showed higher incidence of SMA type RHA p<0.05). Among the patients with single HCC lesion the percentage of arterial variations was 76.92% which was very statistically significantly different from that of the control group (p<0.01). Among the patients with two HCC lesions the percentage of arterial variations was 62.5% which was not statistically significantly different from that of the control group. Groups of patients with HCC lesions less than 10 cm as well as the group with multiple HCC lesions did not show statistically significant difference of the hepatic arterial anatomy variation incidence compared to the control group either. Our study implies that there may be a difference in the incidence of hepatic arterial anatomical variations between HCC patients and healthy individuals. This issue is worth of conducting further research on large series.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"2016 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2167-7964.1000242","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70850990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prognosis of patients with pulmonary artery sarcomas is dependent on its early and accurate diagnosis. Placed below is a description of a case of a 51-year-old man presented with dry cough and breathlessness was initially thought to have a Koch's lesion. AKT was given but the patient did not improve. Then on CT pulmonary angiography patient was suspected of having pulmonary embolus or hypo attenuating mass lesion and was given anticoagulation with unfractionated heparin, which was ineffective. CT guided biopsy of an enlarged right hilar nodal mass led to the diagnosis of primary pulmonary artery sarcoma.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2167-7964.1000241","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70850973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focal Nodular Hyperplasia (FNH) is the second most common benign liver tumor, which usually does not recur after surgical resection. We present a case of hepatitis B virus infected female with a new-onset FNH during pregnancy, which has not been reported before, to not only put an emphasis on the diagnostic accuracy of FNH but also avoid unnecessary surgical intervention. Case presentation: The 28-year-old Chinese female with chronic hepatitis B virus infection who underwent a resection of FNH in the left lobe of the liver three years ago, was found to present with a new-onset solid lesion in the right lobe of the liver. Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS) demonstrated a typical FNH of spoke wheel pattern enhancement in the arterial phase, still enhanced during the portal venous and delayed phases with a central stellate scar, which showed a similar enhancement pattern on contrast-enhanced CT and MRI. Finally, a core needle biopsy of the suspected lesion was confirmed to be FNH. Conclusion: Regenerate of FNH may also occur in patients with chronic hepatitis B, which was known as a risk factor for the occurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma. Diagnosis of FNH can be made definitely and non-invasively through the appliance of modern imaging modalities with typical performance of imaging features.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"2016 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2167-7964.1000239","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70850704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most neurofibromas of the gastrointestinal tract are noted in the stomach and duodenum, the colon can be involved rarely. Most of these occur as a part of colonic involvement in NF1. Solitary neurofibroma of the colon is extremely rare. We present the case of a 13-year-old female having an isolated rectal neurofibroma without any systemic signs and family history of neurofibromatosis; very few numbers of such cases have been reported.
