This article presents the unusual case of a female infant who was afflicted with GBS, meningitis, sepsis complicated by septic shock, ischemic lesions secondary to inflammatory vacuities and a cerebral abscess accompanied by epileptic seizures with a hypsarrythmia electroencephalographic pattern. A long-term NICU stay with antibiotic management, inotropic support and antiepileptic treatment succeeded in resolving the acute stage of the illness. Out-patient follow-up revealed increased muscle-tone but delayed neurological development. While this improved significantly with integral rehabilitative therapy, a slight delay still remained. Neuroimaging follow-up at 18 months found malacia-area and core retractions in the left caudate nucleus.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70851560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This prospective study included fifteen patients with lower limb soft tissue sarcomas with main vessels invasion. They underwent radical resection and restoration of blood flow as the cornerstone step of limb preservation. Purpose: To review the impact of vascular graft replacement following \"radical\" resection of Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS) invading major lower limb vasculature on short term outcomes as regard limb-salvage rate. Methods: Between December 2014 and January 2018, 22 consecutive patients with STS of the lower limb with vascular invasion were investigated, operated and followed up in the Vascular Surgery Department, Mansoura University Hospitals and were followed up for a period that ranged from 3-36 months with mean of 13 months, and a life table analysis was constructed for patency of arterial grafts and for the limb salvage rate. Results: Out of the total (n=22), only 15 patients (12 males and 3 females) aged between 16-57 years had vascular replacement grafts (11 ePTFE, 2 saphenous vein grafts) for arterial reconstruction and 3 replacement grafts (2 ePTFE, 1 saphenous vein graft) for venous reconstruction. Life table analysis for arterial reconstruction showed primary patency rate of 73.85% at 10 months and 64.6% at the end of study with limb salvage rate of 86.7% at last follow up visit. Conclusion: Malignant vascular infiltration should not be a barrier for radical resection for STS patients despite malignant vascular invasion and patients can avoid amputation after careful selection of patients.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70854201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This happens when the normal boundary between the endometrial basal layer and the myometrium is disrupted. It proposed that it may be due to uterine trauma, pregnancy, postpartum endometritis, or caesarean delivery. Adenomyosis has been noted to occur in about 30% of the general female population and the reported prevalence of adenomyosis in hysterectomy specimens varies from 5% to 70%. \u0000We report a case of a 42 year old female, nulligravida, with a medical history of complete spontaneous miscarriage five years ago; with uncontrolled bleeding which it need to be treated with cervical cerclage. \u0000Actually she has a menstrual menometrorrhagia and dysmenorrhea treated with oral contraceptive pills but it did not stop. Transvaginal sonography showed a globular uterine enlargement with one leiomyoma and uterine wall thickening. Vascular malformation or adenomyosis were suspected. A MRI was performed which it showed findings in respect with adenomyosis.","PeriodicalId":90030,"journal":{"name":"OMICS journal of radiology","volume":"7 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2167-7964.1000292","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44944493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, several case reports indicated that bronchogenic cysts occur rarely within the diaphragm.
