At the onset, it is important to highlight the importance of unity of scope and tone. The scope of the review has to be rigorously adhered to, because this is a critical evaluation exercise (Obeng-Odoom, 2014). The tone should be neutral so that the information is succinctly articulated (Barzun, 2001; Cheney, 2005) and the reviewer position can be characterized as critical, evaluative, but civil (Obeng-Odoom, 2014).","PeriodicalId":89571,"journal":{"name":"International journal of multiple research approaches","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42368924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

She suggests it is more helpful to think in terms of multidimensional research strategies and to develop “‘multi-nodal’ dialogic explanations that allow the distinctiveness of different methods and approaches to be held in creative tension.” In this article, I analyse the problem that she raises, provide an alternative multidimensional perspective, and describe ways mixed methods researchers can put that perspective into practice.","PeriodicalId":89571,"journal":{"name":"International journal of multiple research approaches","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42998110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A media review should not exceed 1,000 to 1,200 words, and ought to include introductory comments, information about the reviewer and relevant experience of the media, a succinct summary of the media content, and a discussion of why the media is important for theoretical and empirical purposes.
